About Yorks Cafe at Ikon
Sitting proudly at the front of the old Oozells St school built in 1847 (now the Ikon Gallery), Yorks at Ikon's menus span breakfast, brunch, lunch and later. Stripping back the old sterile space, we've embraced the personality of the building exposing the building's character for the 1800s. Patina-rich metals and concrete are softened with wood, foliage and home-grown herbs on the terrace. With own-roasted coffee and brunch still at the heart of what we do, Yorks at Ikon serves an award winning brunch menu all day alongside a lunch menu from noon. From late afternoon, the lights go down and the music goes up as our menu is served alongside cocktails, bottled and canned craft beers, wines and whiskies. Come and enjoy our stunning terrace and outdoor space; Birmingham's best people watching hot-spot.
Great service and excellent food and drinks. A brilliant alternative to all of the chain restaurants in the area.
Excellent food and service, this is a good value and convenient place to eat in the centre of Birmingham. Only downside is that lots of hard surfaces mean high levels of background noise and difficulty in holding a conversation across the table.
So I made a booking in Yorks on 28 Dec. I didn't know the IKON gallery was closed - your website allowed me to make the booking. So 7 of us turned up to a closed Yorks (including 2 small children) and we had to find somewhere else. It was inconvenient and embarrassing in front of our friends. If you're going to have a website for bookings then at least make sure it works
Great cafe, with a slight twist on the normal menu choices. Well worth the visit
When I arrived at the cafe the staff had no knowledge of my booking and there were no tables free. The staff were not apologetic in the slightest and I had to wait 30 minutes for a table to become free - which really defeats the point of a reservation.
