About Yashin Ocean House
Yashin Ocean House was founded by some of London's leading experts in Japanese cuisine: Yasuhiro Mineno, one of the most respected chefs in Europe, and Shinya Ikeda, former head chef of the prestigious Yumi restaurant. Hosting an elegant dining hall with Edwardian architecture, the ambience is perfect for dates with friends, family or couples as well as solo visits. The menu is centred on satisfying Japanese tapas and signature Omakase sushi, also offering some of the finest delicacies in the world such as exclusive Hida wagyu. Enjoy your meal with a glass of sake, as Yashin Ocean House boasts one of the widest ranges in London, and can suggest the perfect sake to enhance and complement your dish.
Excellent, avant garde and worth a visit every time!
We absolutely loved it!!!! Thank you Shinya-san!!
I wrote on my online booking that we were celebrating my friends's - Had a lovely surprise from the staff when we got a dessert with happy birthday written in chocolate at the end of the meal.
Just a caution: booking for a table of 7 people, including 3 children, we had to arrive at 19.15 to be allowed to order what we wanted, rather than a set menu. When we did arrive, they tried to persuade us to order sharing plates for the whole table, but agreed to take separate orders. So, don't allow yourselves to be bullied! Having said that, the food was outstanding, and the service much better than the last time we visited And of course, this is an expensive restaurant....
Incredible food. The wagyu beef shoulder was one of the tastiest & innovative dishes I've ever had. I can't wait to go back
Service was very slow . Waited 2 hour for the food to arrive.
Food is the best. Service is OK but not amazing. I had to ask for the menues as the waiter simply forgot.
Fabulous food, loved the Soft-Shell Crab roll and the Wagu beef is exceptional.
Both the food and service were fantastic, really innovative dishes and excellent, friendly service. One of the very best of Japanese restaurants in London.
The service was a desaster. The food was not as good as it used to be.
excellent food, staff and atmosphere. Outstanding ingredients. Will be very happy to go back.
Food was generally good but with some dishes overpriced. The best dish we had was the sushi platter and the worse probably was the prawn tempura (the prawn we had was a bit powdery, we could get better, fresher prawn tempura from other Japanese restaurants and at a cheaper price). The Ishiyaki Sukiyaki was good too but too sweet. Everything was going well until we saw a waiter accidentally dropped the cotton sugar for the Ishiyaki Sukiyaki on the floor and instead of replacing it, it was served to the customers (it was going to another table). Hence, one star less for the service and don't think we would go back.
The food was Ok accept the Kobe beef dish. It was very dry and too expensive for 4 pieces same size as my thumb. The manager was very tough, very bad service from him.
Yasmin is one of my Favourite restaurants and I make a point of having the delicious and well priced express lunch whenever I can.
This wasn't our first visit. And this time we had a very disappointing experience. Food was much worse than usually. Kitchen couldn't cope with the orders. Everything was served after a long wait and some meals were not served at all. Service was simply appalling. I would think twice before recommending your restaurant to my friends now
Food: really very good. I didnt like everything, but that's because the cooking is creative. I would highly recommend. Room: stylish, cool. Would recommend. Service: yikes, Yashin need to work on the detail. The waitress encouraged over-ordering and all of her recommendations were the most expensive dishes (really - you think I won't notice) and there was no doubt that she wanted us to leave at the end of the night. Clumpsy and slightly annoying service to be honest. Not what you expect at this price. But I guess they feel they can get away with it. This would cause me to think twice about coming back.
I have been to Yashin Sushi many times and this was my first time trying Ocean House. We thought the service overall was poor and un-attentive. Also, we ordered the £55 Wagyu Beef and were extremely disappointed - we regularly have Wagyu beef and the beef we were served tasted like any normal beef, nothing special, no marbling at all and a complete rip off for £55. We informed our waitress about this but she did nothing - not impressed.
Amazing food, great atmosphere but service is far from being at the same level
Amazing food, presentation and staff, will come back soon
The food was superb, if very pricey, much more interesting than, for example, Nobu. I would say this is the best Japanese food in London. However, the service was erratic. One persons order arrived way before the others in the party got theirs. There appeared to be decorative, but inexperienced staff standing around not doing much. Also it is rather arrogant to assume everyone will want the chefs omakase, and not to have a menu for individual sushi dishes
Very nice food, a little pricey, especially if you order the kobe beef. But a nice treat.
Good add to the ( quiet) neighbourhood. Tjey should advertise more . I was already a fan of the other place off ken high st. This location is even better and the sushis are out of this world! Nice french service. I will be back maybe for dinner. Very good value for money lunch
Very good quality fish. Service a little slow.
