Lovely meal in relaxed surroundings of a beautiful hotel
We got married at woodhall and have loved it every time we have been back, never finding fault. Keep up the good work!
Fantastic dinner. Many thanks.
Beautiful setting, excellent value for money with the afternoon tea offer and good service. My only complaint is that some of the cakes were a bit similar - creme patisserie - no chocolate, strawberry or a lemon cake, all of which would have added more variety.
Lovely afternoon champagne tea with great service.
The hotel and rooms were lovely however we were very disappointed with the dinner service. The food was first rate, but the service was now very warm and was quite in friendly. In fact we found the waitresses to be quite cool, as was the heating temperature in the room. When I asked about the heating she said it’s as it is. We ordered a bottle of red wine and a glass of rose in the bar. The red came but my rose never arrived. I asked again and it still didn’t come. When I had finished my main course (4th course!) the waitress said ‘I’m still waiting on your wine!’ I told her not to bother as it was too late by this time. I didn’t get an apology or offer of anything else. This was a shame as it should have been a lovely evening which was to celebrate my mums 79th. birthday. We have stayed at several of your hotels including woodhall spa and have always had good dinner service so disappointing. The breakfast was very good and friendly though.
I brought my sister and brother in law to show them the venue and enjoy a Christmas treat ahead of my wedding in March. We were blown away by the service and the food, everyone was lovely and friendly and the food tasted delicious. We cannot wait to come back and spend our special day with you all! Thank you!
The service was excellent as always. However when I came to pay I was quite happy to go to reception to pay but the waitress Lucy said that there was no need as she could deal with it, the result being my points could not be added and the receptionist Jade had to sort it out, the following day, which I am sure that she has done. I am sorry to say that the problem was a result of being givien ncorrect information. Nevertheless the afternoon was very enjoyable.
I really enjoyed the food - there were some great choices on the menu. The amount of attention I got was appreciated - not too remote nor too intrusive
Lovely place, great food and good service.
Excellent meals and the F & B manager made us very welcome
The food was very good but the service was very poor and the staff were poorly dressed
Excellent choice and quality of food and wine. Ambiance is also very nice. Staff can do better, training on how to provide adequate service is required
We were most impressed by the helpfulness and pleasant manner of all the staff, especially the young man who served us afternoon tea.
Service was very attentive, possible a little too much! I appreciate this is a personal thing. The food was very nice apart from my lamb rump which was a little chewy in part and served a bit too "rare" for my liking. I like lamb pink, but this almost raw in the centre.
Had a wonderful experience with our afternoon tea a few days ago. We were made very welcome and the food were excellent -a fabulous way of celebrating a friend's recent retirement. The Georgian suite has a great ambience and magnificent views too of the beautiful countryside from where we were seated. We'll definitely be returning soon!
The Afternoon tea sandwich’s were very simple finger sandwiches, The scones were delicious as the rest of the cakes. I had to ask for a replacement teapot the spout was damaged .Most of the cutlery could have done with a good clean. Service was very good,I wouldn’t return for Afternoon tea even though it was a 2 for 1 deal.I think a little more attention to detail would not go a miss .Even the table displays had smear marks all over them quiet surprised to see that. We haven’t dined at the restaurant so cannot comment on that but maybe it will be a better experience.
A huge disappointment. Brought my husband for a birthday celebration & have been apologising ever since.! We had savoury tea - no choice of tea offered, no accompanying hot water. No description of what was being served. Sausage roll lacked seasoning & was tastless so couldn't tell what meat it was.; grilled chicken was burnt, rarebit was a disgusting mustard mousse, salmon bagel was fine. Scones were undercooked & tasteless, toasted teacake had no colour & in effect was dried out fruit bread. Biscuit was ok & apple tartlet very good. We were not offered clean plate or knives for the transition from savouries to scones etc. I went looking for staff to request them but could find none & ended up taking them from another table. We had to leave a lot of what was served. I made my feelings known to the receptionist & as we left the hotel another guest came after me to say she had had a similar experience. Lesson to be learnt Wood Hall. I shall not be returning.
Enjoyed a relaxed afternoon tea in the Georgian dining room. Service was excellent, very quick and staff were really attentive. Only downside came when I had to pay but only a minor and does not spoil anything, but could be improved on a little? I was paying cash but the dining staff said I had to pay at reception, went to reception who said they had no facility for that and had to pay in the dining room. Went back in the dining room to a confused waitress who called for help from a colleague but I was just left standing wondering what to do at this point, the waitress walked off to reception not really telling me anything but i followed and she appeared to be sorting it out. I left the cash with the waitress after a bit of a kerfuffle
sandwiches slightly disappointing especially the bread of gluten free ones.
Delicious afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings.
Mixup with table despite a morning telephone call requesting a particular table in drawing room. Arriving on a cold and wet afternoon it would have been nice to be greeted by a welcoming fire, or some form of heating. Unfortunately this was not the case and my wife spent the duration of the Afternoon Tea with her jacket on. The finger sandwiches, scones, assortment of cakes and drinks however, were of a very high quality.
Lovely afternoon tea in splendid surroundings
Excellent attentive service from Lucy and her colleague when we visited for celebratory champagne afternoon tea yesterday. Scone selection was my favourite.
Lovely afternoon tea, sandwiches, scones and cakes were delicious
