Lovely experience. Will be back again soon.
The afternoon tea was very nice. I just find the price a little high as it did not include Prosecco and the service charge was added on top. Which made the total a little high
Everything lovely.. just expensive drinks!
Food was amazing although service was disappointing especially given how good service usually is there
Our greeting was lovely but everything went downhill after that. Our teas were brought to our table with the announcement 'I don't know which is earl grey . . . You'll have to sniff them'. We had to ask for milk. Our food was brought to the table without a word of what any of it was. We never received a check back. We were never offered refills for our teapots. When we were asked if we were finished, the tower was removed and we sat and looked at our empty plates for 10 minutes before I asked for the bill. If I had paid full price I'd have been incandescent with rage. As we were on a 2 for 1 we left the unasked for service charge on the bill and vowed never to come back.
Lovely hotel and service. Very small spa but nice - wouldn’t recommend as a spa day but lovely if staying at the hotel. Chestnut bedroom lovely but bed and pillows not very comfortable. Cocktails not very good and very expensive. All food (restaurant, bar and breakfast) was exceptional. Beautiful setting - would be an amazing wedding venue!
Booked for my wife's birthday. The food and service was exceptional. Really made her day
Booked for our wedding anniversary. the food and service made it a very enjoyable evening
We were the only guests for lunch. Service was sporadic. Accessible toilet unsatisfactory - size and configuration not suitable for wheelchair transfer.
My wife and myself enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea at the Wood Hall Hotel and Spa. Plenty to eat and like other guests we were supplied with a box to take several goodies home.
Very nice meal
Afternoon tea was superb, beautiful array of finger sandwiches & delicious buns.
It was my first time visiting. I’d brought my mum along and we had a fabulous time. The food was delicious, the service was top class and the surrounding was spectacular. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Loved everything about the place
We had a lovely day in the spa. I had booked 2 x 2:1 offer of Champagne afternoon tea 2 months ago. My confirmation did not confirm exactly what I’d booked and so whilst I thought that was my booking i was not 100% sure. One friend had had to work and so only 3 of us went for tea. Despite asking our waiter he didnt know whether we had booked afternnon tea with or without the champagne. We were given 3 teas without champagne and then billed for a 2:1 champagne tea and an afternoon tea. I had expected to have to pay for my friends tea but take her a pack up as she was very disappointed to have to work and not attend. We had to complain to get charged for just afternoon tea ( which is what we had) We had to find a waiter to bring us a top of tea and the sandwiches arrived 15 minutes after the tea. Great food , poor service. We were very disappointed and it left me feeling stressed having gone for a relaxing day out. It is my third visit for a birthday treat. Time to try somewhere else.
Excellent champagne afternoon tea experience
Excellent food and service
Excellent service and quality of food
Disappointed. I booked the 2 for 1 champagne afternoon tea for 17 March and then moved it to 21 March as it was my birthday. My daughter paid so it wasn’t until we left that she commented it seemed expensive at £47.00. I checked the website and afterwards tea is priced at £21.50 each so no idea where £47.00 came from, especially as it was 2 for 1 Furthermore, there were just 4 sandwiches each and one of the desserts was a viennesse type biscuit (shop bought) with chocolate mousse on top. Also the cake with 3 blobs of cream on was stale.
Good Food, Good Service, Enjoyable Anniversary Event
Booked the 2 for 1 deal for champagne afternoon tea so definitely value for money. Wood Hall in a beautiful location & the expeeience was lovely. However, the staff we not very attentive & we had to ask whenever we needed anything. Eg. Hot water, more tea, the bill. Looking forward to going back in the summer
Afternoon tea, nicely presented. Sandwiches were nice but we were not asked if we wanted brown or white bread or what we wanted on the sandwiches, whereas we have been asked this at other venues previously. The waiter came & asked us early on, if everything was ok, which it was at that time, but a further visit later on to ask if we wanted a pot of hot water to go with the tea, would have been welcomed. If we came for afternoon tea again, we would ask for more sandwiches and less scones. Although they were all very nice and lovely to try.
A wonderful spa day with champagne afternoon tea, for my husbands birthday. Just what we needed to relax. Massage was excellent. Definitely recommend.
