About Wiveton Hall Cafe
Wiveton Hall Café, which overlooks the marshes and out to sea, opened in 2007 and quickly gained a reputation for fine, wholesome food. Situated on the fruit farm, surrounded by strawberry fields and raspberry canes, the food is always seasonal which is reflected in the regularly changing menu.
Enjoyed our visit to Wiveton. The food and cakes in the cafe were delicious and it was lovely to meet Desmond. We will definitely visit again. All the best for the winter months.
You never fail to please us! It would be good if you opened more in the winter months.
We had a wonderful time and we are big fans of the show and Desmond and we even got to speak to him on the car park and I had a selfie with him. What a great experience!! See you next year
Great as always. Alex and her team at front of house are a credit to Wiveton and the Chef's put together a great menu for Norfolk Restaurant Week this year. We look forward going again when you reopen in 2019
I love this place. Returning home to visit the family coming over to North Norfolk feels like being wrapped up in your childhood blanket and what better way to feel comfort than visiting Wiveton Hall, eating a crab sandwich and drinking a beer whilst overlooking the marshes at Cley. A fabulous experience.
good food, good service and good views. What,s not to like
We chose from the set menu. The food was excellent and the service warm and friendly. We will definitely book again when we return for another holiday in June. A real treat!
Very nice staff but the service was a bit slow.
Lovely location, relaxed service, great food and good value for money, highly recommended.
Always a pleasure
Seriously declined since we last visited last year. Food took over half an hour to arrive despite cafe not being especially busy. Duck dry and over cooked , with beans in a white mush with very little pancetta. Vegetarian curry disappointing. Hugely overpriced.
Wonderful. Delicious food and brilliant staff esp. your manageress. Nothing was too much trouble and as it was a surprise for my husband’s birthday she played along with it brilliantly.
Foods was lovely crab lovely and fresh but the gentleman who had cauliflower and cheese soup said he expected it be thicker it was rather watery.
Fantastic as always!
Full English is very small. Butter very hard. Bread was cheap and sliced. Egg was over cooked.
A hidden gem for many of us locals! So pleased that the TV series has boosted the footfall. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, service & food was outstanding & we loved the views over the marshes. We will definitely visit again.
Pleasant atmosphere and very attentive staff Food was not quite up to the standard of previous visits However, this would not deter us from further visits in the future
Enjoyed the tour ,all quite amusing.
Very disappointed with the full English breakfast (£8.95). One egg,one rasher of bacon, one sausage ,one small mushroom, half a stone-cold tomato and what appeared to be the plate-filler 2 slices of bread (halved). If you allow 50p for the two slices of bread and a couple of pre-wrapped portions of butter, that means that all the other items in the plate average out at £1.69 per item !!!! Obviously my judgement is based purely on the fried breakfast, but based on that I will not be recommending your venue.
I suppose it's just a coincidence - we only have chance to visit about once each year - but the sun always shines when we go to Wiveton Hall, so that helps this review! Be that as it may, my family and I love it. The setting is superb, the views are magnificent, the staff are friendly and efficient, and the food and drink is excellent - always. We first heard about Wiveton Hall by chance when having a cuppa in Holt. A pleasant fellow must have overheard us wondering what to do later so he joined our conversation and tipped us off about what we'd been missing. Go there and see for yourselves
The cakes and coffee etc are all great, however, the vegetarian breakfast was really quite poor. I can't speak for the other food. Cold, unseasoned tomato, everything else was room temperature and flavorless, no vegetarian sausage or alternative, no baked beans (surely a staple?) I really like this place, but our brunch was disappointing.
Reservation made in advance as advised. When I arrived I was seated in the rather unappealing offshoot of the cafe. It was a miserable day and I was starting to wish I hadn’t made the effort to journey to Wiveton Hall in the rain, however, within minutes...staff asked if I would like to move into the main cafe. What a difference, there was atmosphere and pleasent service. Fresh, hearty food with great coffee too. Thank you Amy and staff. I will recommend to others.
Very relaxing lunch with first class food and service
We had a lovely lunch. The soup was especially delicious. Thank you
Delicious food, delightful staff, preceded by the unforgettable Historical Tour from Desmond. An excellent afternoon. Thank you.
