About Wiveton Hall Cafe
Wiveton Hall Café, which overlooks the marshes and out to sea, opened in 2007 and quickly gained a reputation for fine, wholesome food. Situated on the fruit farm, surrounded by strawberry fields and raspberry canes, the food is always seasonal which is reflected in the regularly changing menu.
We love the cafe and return often! The staff are wonderful.
Beautiful location but very disappointed when 5 minutes after our food arrived and we asked for a side salad and more cheese for the children’s pasta to be told the kitchen is now closed! Not good service when we were given the table for 2 hrs for the kitchen to be closed for people actually eating. Maybe if yr kitchen is closing you should not be taking bookings at 2.45. Very disappointed. Also 3 mains were sold out on the pretty small menu and the crab was extremely small. Wanted to try the tapas evening but a little reluctant now I’m afraid. It was an older lady who was not accommodating.🙁
We have visited many times over the years for both the tapas evenings and the lunchtime menu. On almost all occasions we have been wowed by the quality and diversity of the meals and always looked forward to returning. Our visit on Saturday was very disappointing due to the largely tasteless, small and overpriced tapas dishes. You can’t serve a dried out chicken leg on it’s own without any flavour or sauce and charge nearly £6. The patatas bravas were basically boiled potatoes with some tasteless tomato sauce. Such a shame as the setting and beautiful evening along with a guitar player promised so much.
After our walk excellent food with a friendly atmosphere , thanks you made our day out very enjoyable Barry
Great lunch for 37 ! Thanks to all the staff
The staff were all very welcoming and efficient.
Only did poached eggs, couldn’t do fried or scrambled eggs at 10am because they were getting ready for lunch. Not a great excuse and we felt rushed. No kids menu although they were very friendly with our little one. Need a wider range of food.
All the staff we met were friendly and obviously enjoyed working at Wiveton. Lovely atmos, loved the fresh salad ingredients and the menu, sensibly limited, had interesting choices.
Very friendly and professional service, tasty home produce as usual. Waitress started to clear the table before one diner had finished their food but to honest I’m being pedantic there! Will be back every time we visit the area.
Food was lovely thoroughly enjoyed ourselves but the service was rubbish- lots of members of staff but constantly had to keep asking for help..... drinks, sauce, extra drink, pudding and the bill not in a hurry to come back
the stars tell it all
Rather disappointed with the choices on the menu and to be told that no crab was available after we had perused the menu and we had both decided to order it from the rather limited choices available. Very pleased with atmosphere and friendly service.
We have eaten at Wiveton Hall many times before when visiting from Wales, but not Spanish Tapas and were most impressed . It would be good if the cafe were open more evenings but we realise this causes staffing problems. The Spanish Guitarists were excellent, nice touch . Hope to see you next year - perhaps staying in one of your cottages?
We had out end of summer term lunch. We all had a lovely time but would liked more choice of sandwiches and soup. The elderflower cordial was lovely.
What a fantastic meal! Spent an hour or so wandering around the peony-filled gardens and working up an appetite. Food, staff n decor all lovely. Thank you for looking after us so well.
I hate giving negative reviews but awful service really spoilt our father's day lunch here. I appreciate that the young staff were not very experienced but there was no excuse for the surly attitude of the senior members of staff.
Two waitresses spent time petting the dogs at the next table to us, it would of been nice to know they had washed their hands before continuing to work! It was nice to experience Wiveton cafe and look forward to returning. The staff were friendly and efficient
Always welcoming. Brilliantly run.
We had a fantastic time - the food was delicious and the service was excellent. An amazing pre-wedding dinner - many many thanks!
Excellent breakfast served by friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful surroundings complete the picture, we will return.
Delicious food & drink, wonderful friendly staff. Slightly overpriced.
Had a lovely lunch thank you
Lovely menu. Delicious food, great ambiance and surroundings.
We were looking forward to a lovely roast or fresh fish lunch on Father's day. However the lunch menu was was very poor and we had to leave as there was nothing we could eat. Such a shame as, we have eaten here before and raved about how good the food was.
Vibrant menu, great atmosphere and wonderful views.
