About Wilks Restaurant
Welcome to wilks. We are a modern, vibrant restaurant on Chandos road in Redland, Bristol. We offer creative, accomplished cooking at affordable prices, attentive, knowledgeable service from friendly staff and a relaxed, informal dining room. We champion all that is local; farmers, growers, suppliers, even local artists who show their work in our restaurant.
Our philosophy is centred on offering choice and value to our customers. The menus have a large selection of dishes 'to share', the idea being that you can have a whole meal by ordering sharing dishes for the middle of the table until you are full; share a few plates with friends before ordering your own main courses and sweets; or simply order the traditional three course way. Dishes are individually priced so you can spend as you choose. In addition we offer two great value set menus, one at lunch and one for early dinner 6 - 6.45pm. If you are in a hurry at lunch just let us know, we also offer a quick service, 1 course meal with soft drink or glass of wine for £12/£14. Wines are young and adventurous like us! Please see the drink section for more information.
The lunch menu was very good value for money. The crab risotto and duck breast were outstanding, in particular the sauces complement each dish very well.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Wilks, from the delicious food and wine to the fantastic service. We would thoroughly recommend dining here, and look forward to next time!
My wife and I had a fantastic meal! The staff and Service was some of the best I have had and the rhubarb final course was exceptionally good! We will be returning for seconds
Lovely food and great service- nice to see different deserts the cocoa meringue was delicious and fun, good choice of vegetables - excellent value for money. Very enjoyable evening would visit again.
Very nice lunch at Wilks. The set lunch is excellent value for a Michelin starred restaurant. Only comment is that we felt the restaurant would have benefited from some subtle background music as it was almost silent. It made our conversation slightly stilted.. Maybe it was because it was a quiet lunchtime.
Our lunch was just as you would want it to be. The restaurant atmosphere and service was excellent and the food was delicious.
Food was consistently excellent across all three courses. Wine list was interesting and great value; I would have liked to have seen a mid range sauternes by the glass in the sweet selection. Service was polite, attentive and professional; however we felt a slightly warmer and more relaxed approach would benefit the atmosphere of the restaurant. Comfortably the best food in town and we will be back soon!
Would have liked a wider choice of potatoe and vegetables
Most of food excellent in cooking, flavour & presentation with notable exception of the pumpkin veloute - very bland and disappointing. Service needs to improve - not in efficiency but in inter personal skills as the lady m'd gave impression she was doing us a favour. Wrong ....... Superior cooking does not need a superior attitude. Maybe the 1 Michelin star has gone to some heads? Not good for return business unfortunately.
We enjoyed our meal very much, the only downside was finding somewhere to park we will be arriving by taxi next time
Fantastic food, lovely Sancerre and knowledgeable staff what more do you want !
Fantastic food and service. Disappointed as some options on the menu were not availible.
Relaxing background music would be nice and some of the tables are not well lit and it felt a bit dim at times. Perhaps slightly better/larger candles would make it feel a bit more cosy.
