About Wildwood Newmarket
A small collection of restaurants, serving freshly prepared food - with one simple aim; to serve great food delivered by friendly staff in a relaxed, homely environment. Whether you choose from the grill section, stone-baked pizza or our freshly prepared pastas, our passion for high quality dishes is the main focus across all of our restaurants.
Despite booking on line they had no knowledge of our reservation and consequently we were given a bad table. My steak was very gristley but my friends was perfect. Shame no malt vinegar. Service was fantastic.
yes i book a for dce24 but i had to cancil it becouse this was for 7 guests nut that could not maker it so i went to at Wildwood in Newmarket that sed phpne u but i did thay sed that wood get back to me never hard from any body i paid 35 pounds the refis B6DG2V4 so is the any way that i can come in some and have a meal on this sorry about but it was all my friends that let me down my nane is Brian higgs wait to here from you thank you my [email protected] we do come in lots of times and all ways very good
Made a reservation and got told I had to talk to someone else. The man didn’t even ask if I reserved or looked at any resiervagiin booking because it would have said “it’s my boyfriends birthday, window seat please” I insisted it was my boyfriends birthday- no special treatment. Took us 25minues for a drink. Food was plain and took a long time- the manager apologised because she realised how long we had waited. Will not be here again and we normally love wildwood!
Booked a table for New Years Day in the evening. The restaurant wasn’t particularly warm and the staff seemed fed up and acted like they would rather be anywhere else than at work. The food was ok but not outstanding. We could not have coffee following our meal as we were told the coffee machine was broken. We were presented with the bill and card machine rather too promptly in my opinion almost as if the staff couldn’t wait to be rid of you. The glasses were cleared from our table before we had settled the bill! Would we return - probably not as other chains eg Prezzo offer better menu choice, atmosphere and their staff are friendlier and more professional.
Great customer service and staff were very help with booking and the changes I made prior to my visit
Unfortunately no hot drinks were available (coffee machine broken but no hot water available for tea either!) It had been broken for "days" apparently so would have thought the purchase of a kettle or 2 might have been a good option? Sadly, we were not advised of this until after dessert had been served so was a disappointing end to the evening.
Restaurant serving staff are very slow. We got our food before our drinks and had to ask 3 times when the food came it was incorrect and the drink spilled. The food is lovely and other locations are amazing but this one has always had issues
Had not been here for over a year following a poor meal but decided to give it another go. Disappointed with food and service was slow. Starter of garlic bread had a strange buttery taste and my spaghetti bolognese was warm rather than hot, I would guess due to being placed in a cold dish. No offer of further drinks despite my glass being almost empty when main course served. Won’t rush back.
waitor was very friendly as was all the staff my only upset was originally I booked for 2 people and was asked to pay a deposit, just because it was December, but a table for two is not a party, I refused, then I was asked on emails to order before hand, I also said no so I did nearly cancel the booking as I was getting annoyed!, but meal was lovely, will be back
Although the food was lovely and the waiting staff were very polite we had to wait ages for our food, we only had a main and some drinks and we were in there for 2.5 hours with 3 kids.
We have come to wildwood for our Christmas meal the last four years but this year was very disappointing! I had told them there was one vegetarian as years before they have done them a separate plate of the starters but this year the waitress pointed to the food in the sharing starter that was vegetarian and she was made to eat it off a plate with meat and fish! The service was rubbish not once was we asked if the food was ok we had to keep waiting to order drinks. Then at half 10 they ask if we had had our puddings to which we hadn't they then brought them out and all the cheesecakes were still frozen so when we complained the waitress took one and brought it back a few minutes later she had clearly microwaved it as it was the hot so six of us didn't have pudding in the end! The manger claimed to have taken this off the bill but we had spent just under £500 on food and drink and they had the cheek to do it on separate bills trying to get two service charges! We will not be returning again they let us down this year after coming for a few years now very disappointing.
Booked online for 5 people and paid a deposit of £25, told when we arrived that we had only booked for 4 and would now be taking someones table (despite having an email), servers rude throughout & literally ignored our table (unless you were a large xmas party they did’t care. All courses took way too long to arrive, starters hadn’t been cleaned when mains were brought over, one main took ages to be brought over, bill took 15mins and was wrong and didn’t have £25 deposit reflected. Then had the cheek to stop my other half on way out and say we hadn’t paid. Sarcastic, moody and useless staff. Manager spent whole night on a laptop eating strawberry laces. Avoid this bunch of muppets
I took my family out for a meal , to celebrate my husband birthday, (party of six). the food was lovely as always But the service Is so bad, we had to keep calling them over to order drinks, they brought the wrong drinks over and the wrong food, and just wait ages For everything to come out. This was the Thrid time going to wildwood and everytime we have had to company about something and will not being go back ,which is unfortunate as the food is lovey,
You catered for 40 of our team and they gave excellent feedback. The said they were well looked after and the food was great! Thank you for taking care of us.
The acoustics in the restaurant are very loud and it makes it very difficult to hear the people you're sitting with.
Booked table for 10 days in advance for 8.20. At 8.45 still no table and staff not interested. When asked where our table was got a shrug. We walked out and no one made any effort.
The Booking name was spell wrongly, then the waitress dropped a glass of beer over my wife as she had far to many on her tray...the wrong email was spent out to my once I booked our Christmas meal on line, they/you just sent a standard email and not a Christmas one we you didn't order out Christmas dinner as we didn't know we had to so we couldn't have it and the whole idea in going to Wildwoods was for the Christmas dinner, so we was all very disappointed and may ever return to Wildwoods ever again, a bad night from the start to the finish.
Nice atmosphere, food was ok, service could do with improvement
Cocktails brilliant, especially as it was happy hour. Food also very good, waitress so friendly and helpful
All very good. No complaints.
We have been loyal clients for several years now and regularly visiting Ely and Newmarket We always make use of your special offers Over our last few visits the offers webpage is not working (via iphone) and it is hard to get the page to work. Tonight (7th of Nov 2018) I finally managed to get the page to work though no email was received with your offer. We tried multiple times using other email addresses Sadly none worked. After our meal we explained it to the manager trusting we will still get our discount honoured. Sadly this was refused. I feel this is not ethical getting loyal clients back in your door with a carrot only to take it away (after the food is ordered) Your responce to this feedback will surely determine if we will visit Wildwood ever again. UPDATE SHORTLY AFTER I POSTED MY REVIEWS ON FACEBOOK AND GOOGLE WE DID GET THE EMAIL COME THROUGH FOR OUR DISCOUNT I WENT OVER TO THE MANAGER AND HE REFUSED TO HONOUR IT AND SAID HE CAN ONLY DO SO IF I PROVIDED THE DISCOUNT CODE BEFORE MY PAYMENT
Service was very slow, our food sat on the counter quite a few minutes before it was brought over, thankfully it wasn’t cold, dirty plates were left in front of us for roughly 15 minutes, then we weren’t asked if we wanted pudding for a further 10 minutes so we didn’t bother. Was glad I had a 50% code- wouldn’t have wanted to have paid full price.
the original time of the booking was 7.40 however when we got confirmation it said 6pm. We tried to call to confirm the booking but no one answered. We called 5 times and the phone just rang. So on arrival at 7.40 we were told we were too late for the table as it was booked for 6. We explained that we tried to call to confirm but no answer. We were told the phone lines had been down for 5 days. Anyway they found a table for us and sat us down. Service was half hearted, the girl serving us didn’t seem interested and we felt like she didnt want to be there! After we had our mains we were just forgotten about and left, despite wanting deserts and coffees. This has happened to me before at the same restaurant. Once you’ve got your mains they ignore you. We won’t be returning.
One of my favourite restaurants
