About Wildwood Letchworth
Wildwood is a small collection of restaurants that serves freshly prepared food.
Our aim is simple: to serve great food delivered by friendly staff in a relaxed, homely environment.
Whether you choose from the grill section, stone-baked pizza or our freshly prepared pastas, our passion for high quality dishes is the main focus across all of our restaurants
We always enjoy our food at the Wildwood restaurant in Letchworth. We normally visit on a Sunday lunch time as I am not keen on Sunday roast! I am gluten intolerant so enjoy the fact I have a choice at Wildwood. It is never too busy so we are served promptly. All staff we have encountered have been friendly, helpful and efficient. We never feel rushed. The menu is not huge but quite varied. I had,for the first time, the GF pizza which was very tasty. My husband had calzone which he really enjoyed, our son had ribs. So we would recommend a visit..
Nice ambience, good food and excellent service, would certainly come again.
Both food and drink were very nice. But unfortunately the service wasn’t great on this visit. Firstly we waited around 20 minutes after being seated before anyone came over, then they went to take our food order without any drinks order first. Drinks and olives came promptly but unfortunately one drink was missing, I would have thought taking over three drinks to a table of four might be a clue that something was missing. Also we had asked for tap water which didn’t arrive. Eventually managed to catch a member of staffs eye to get the missing drink. Approximately 50 minutes later our food came, the waiter didn’t know which meal was which and another waiter bought over food which wasn’t ours. The waitress who came to see if we wanted desserts couldn’t have been more unfriendly and when we said we didn’t want anything she told us she would go and get the bill. We then felt very rushed to pay the bill as she immediately came back with the bill and card machine almost instantly. Ultimately it didn’t matter as we were with friends we hadn’t seen in a while and had lots to catch up on so we had a lovely time but all of us picked up on the bad service which might impact our decision to go here again. I would also like to add that the drinks seemed slightly overpriced for the location.
It was our first visit to the restaurant, we'd been meaning to go since it opened but hadn't got around to it. Wished we'd gone sooner, the food was amazing, everything was cooked to perfection. We were sat in a lovely corner seat with loads of space around us near the window, which was lovely as it was the local Christmas light switch on, so it was very pretty. Service was good, we had a couple of people as there was a Christmas party in there at the time, we even had the chef himself bring one of our food plates out; he was very nice.
I hadnt considered visiting wildwood before (as it is normally empty) in comparison to the busy prezzo over the street. Disappointing food but this was overshadowed by the poor service. Team are nice enough however it was clear that there is no employee training. There was a new waitress on the floor whom I felt sorry for as she was left to her own devices. I wouldn't consider returning
Great, friendly, professional service. Food was excellent!
Some of our meal was very nice, some was awful. Had to ask for items listed as part of the dish as they didn’t come. Staff came across a bit unfriendly and some of their comments made me feel a awkward. As we went on a mon we had 50% off food which was good as would gave been very disappointed if I’d paid full price. It was not worth that
Food was rubbish and people’s food was forgotten despite it being on the preorder. Risotto was incredibly oily. Cheesecake tasted like the fridge. We were set up on 2 separate tables one behind the other which meant people had to be split up. We could have been put along the wall and been able to all sit together. I had to help give out some of the mains as the waiting staff didn’t think to call people’s names. Just wasn’t a great experience and none of us (20 of us) will be coming back
Unfortunately it was not the best experience. I have been to the Canterbury Wildwood several times and enjoyed it so tried Letchworth. There were no sweet potato fries, a drink was forgotten and had to be asked for again but worst of all a meal was forgotten so one of our party had to sit and watch everyone else eat while his burger was cooked. This was despite the waitress reading the order back correctly so not sure how it was forgetten. On top of this the toilets are upstairs so even when that part of the restaurant is not being used the guests still need to go up there. Despite this a chef sat and smoked outside the door on the stairs and both the corridor and upstairs smelt of cigarettes.
Wrong orders, burnt food, restaurant was not busy but that was excuse for all the mistakes. Needs a staff training programme.
Very quiet place, but food was lovely! Polite staff
Good food and service.
Disappointed with the slow service, the food was so slow considering there were only a few guests, didn’t feel like we were assigned a waiter, not offered second drinks even though various waiters had seen our glasses were empty, no water offered but jugs of water on every table, no one came mid meal to check everything was ok, difficult to get someone’s attention to get the bill, couldn’t fault the food
Service was friendly but a bit hit and miss
The food and service was excellent. The only thing that I was not too keen about was the fact that the high ceiling seem to give rise to the noise of the room causing it to be amplified giving the impression that you were in a large canteen.
Great restaurant, good value & the team always give excellent customer service
Lovely restaurant and great staff and service
Booked a table for 1530 arrived at 1510 to be told that the kitchen is shutting. The waiter then said that he will tell the kitchen to stay open as we have a reservation. Starter came out which was great took the plates and then brought our mains straight out they was clearly cooked and been waiting for us to finish the starters as the main was warm and the chips was cold.
Service was extremely slow and the food was mediocre at best. The restaurant was the same as many others on the high street and does not stand out. Would not recommend to friend or family
Very pleasant with our grandchildren providing colouring/ activity menu, bringing their food first
Really enjoyed our evening last night... the food was amazing... just a little shame about the service.. had to wait a little while to actually order a drink and quickly ordered our meal when they finally came round as was worried that they may take a little while until we could order our food..
Very warm friendly atmosphere staff helpful food was lovely my kids loved it as well
W really like Wildwood in Letchworth - the food is great and the staff are very friendly.
An excellent lunch, we thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the mozzarella garlic bread.
Lovely evening with lovely food.
