About Wildwood Telford
A Mediterranean restaurant all on one floor with seating outside overlooking a park and pond. We have an open kitchen so you can see your food being prepared by our chefs and maybe even a pizza or two being thrown! The restaurant has an industrial design which is an appropriate fit with the industrial town of Telford
Very efficient service for party of 13. Friendly too.
There simply was not enough staff to deal with the demand of the diners. We were entertaining clients, drinks were very slow to arrive - I collected the tray from the bar !! People were hungry. Your staff however were delightful really trying to mitigate the problem but simply not succeeding. We joined you in 2019 and really enjoyed the experience, sadly we will not be repeating this in 2019
Always an excellent evening at Wildwood. I've introduced family and friends who all echo my opinion. Never miss an opportunity of suggesting Wildwood to anyone who mentions dining out in Telford. Keep up the good work!
This Friday evening was very busy due to the conference we were attending the following day. Unfortunately, service was rather slow due to there only being about 3 waiting staff in the whole restaurant! The service was good when there, but not as attentive as I would have expected for a party of 12. One of us asked for the gluten free menu, which was provided rather promptly, and then she ordered the roasted brie. When it arrived, all that was different was that the bread had been removed and not replaced with anything else. What was she supposed to dip into her cheese? No gluten free bread (even though there were pizzas available), no vegetables, no nothing, just cheese. When asked for something to go with it, the waitress said there is nothing and that the menu was rather new and they would adjust it in the future. In my opinion if it isn't right to start, dont offer it! Just removing the bread was not sufficient unfortunately. A little more thought for those with special requirements needed please! The atmosphere was fabulous, electric even, due to the number of conference goers, which was wonderful, but certainly not created by the retaurant. Regardless of the little issues, we all had a fab evening, Thank You!
Had a lovely pre-cinema meal.
The service was slow and the attitude of staff was as though they were doing you a favour being there. Both haddock risotto on our table had a ridiculous amount of bones. This is one of my favourite dishes that I've had at other restaurants and cooked myself and never had bones. Haddock is not difficult to fillet. We were never checked on for drinks or to ask whether the food was satisfactory and it was quite difficult to catch someone's attention. When we raised the concern about the bones we were told by the harassed looking waitress that it did say there may be bones on the menu. I was unable to finish my dish, in fact, I ate less than half as the number of bones put me off. Another friend had a chicken dish and the chicken was thick slices that appeared as something you'd buy ready packaged from a supermarket, not appealing. We asked for water and 15 minutes later asked again to be told "it's coming" very abruptly. When our plates were taken, I told the manager that I was not happy with my dish due to the number of bones I could not eat it. She said she would take both haddock risotto off the bill, which was appreciated. When the bill came it had one risotto removed and the other still on. We mentioned it to a waitress who started to question us as to why we'd asked for them to be removed. Luckily the manager came over and took the bill, but did roll her eyes at the waitress while doing it. We were disappointed by the food, but the service, from the waitress particularly, really spoiled our evening.
We really enjoyed our evening and will definitely be coming back.
Seafood risotto was too salty, otherwise food was good. Waitress was lovely
My favourite restaurant in Telford and probably favourite chain. Great to celebrate my birthday there
Good food. Excellent service. Booking for 6 perfect. Would visit again
A little expensive but great food and service, and a lovely spacious restaurant area.
The food was fine, if not particularly hot. However we were seated by a woman who I presume was the manager, who scowled at us and threw the menus down on the table. She was uncommunicatibe and surly, and really ruined the entire experience for us.
Expensive for what you get. Food average.
Visiting Telford from South Wales for a long weekend, Really enjoyed our meal. Hopefully stop by again when up oin that area. Definitely recommend.
We are a family of 5 with a 6 month baby - the staff couldn't be more helpful and made us feel really welcome - it is our second visit and it won't be our last.
Lovely meal in relaxed surroundings. We had a voucher, but if you are paying full price I think it is quite expensive.
Food very tasty and we benefitted from the mon/tues half price food deal which made it very reasonable value. Only downside is that staff are slow with service and spend a lot of time chatting among themselves. I had read about this previously and could see it for myself now. Something to be addressed and improved upon to fill the restaurant up!!
Just found it odd that in a partially full restaurant with empty tables laid with cutlery they asked us to retain our cutlery as they had run out! Everything else was very good!
Great restaurant, lovely food and amazing staff who were very attentive. Will be coming again.
It took over 10 minutes to take our drink order after we got seated the starters were very nice but my husband's steak was very undercooked for a medium rare came out more rare and very chewy. I had spaghetti carbarnra and it was very salty was very disappointment and just wanted to leave
Great food and great service! Thanks ladies!
Very good food and service
I usually have the tagliatelle alla norma, which was exceptionally nice last night! Last time I came 2 weeks ago not all ingredients were included (garlic and spinach) and the waiter didn’t mention this. When my mom complained that her beef burger was burnt, he asked her if she wanted to take it home? We didn’t want to embarrass him further so we just said no, paid and left. I think the food is amazing it’s just a shame the staff are sometimes a let down which ruins the service.
I was meeting a friend who I hadn’t seen for a while and when we first entered the restaurant no-one attended to us until giving direct eye contact to the girl on the bar. We then sat at our table and were left there for 15/20mins. There was no one around to even ask if we could have a drinks order taken. After 20minutes what looks like your manager (as she wasn’t wearing a Wildwood’s shirt) came to the table and rushed us for an order, where we ordered drink, starter and main all together before she grunted and walked off. Drinks arrived no problem by a lovely staff member. The same manager then brought us our starters and plonked them harshly on the table without even letting us say thank you, grunted, and walked off. When it came to the mains, as we had waited about an hour and 45minutes and my friend had travelled from 45minutes away, we were hoping for a quick meal and for her to go home again. However after an hour and 45minutes we were starving. My friend had the smoked haddock risotto where she found 3 giant fish bones and yet there were no warning of these on the menu. I had the peri peri chicken pasta and it was luke-warm and I’d had to leave a few pieces of chicken as they were lukewarm and grey coloured, due to being on Placement, I did not want to risk food poisoning. It took us that long and we felt so flat that we almost went to the bar to get our bill. However, we requested the bill without telling the manager that we’d got a discount code until she came back to the table before huffing and beckoning a member of staff to come and sort the code out for us and told us it would be 15 minutes wait ‘as she had to do other stuff’ it was a relatively quiet Sunday night for Southwater and must’ve had less than 10 tables. The guy that came to sort out the bill was very helpful and friendly and we left feeling disappointed and not rushing back anytime soon. In this day in age, you’d think restaurants would be trying to keep their customers and not putting them off from coming back. I’ve been to Wildwood’s in Telford before with my parents and had an excellent experience, but this was a whole new level of shocking.
Shame there was no pizza's available as the dough was frozen. Chorizo burger was fine though.
