About Wildwood Didcot
A small collection of restaurants, serving freshly prepared food - with one simple aim; to serve great food delivered by friendly staff in a relaxed, homely environment. Whether you choose from the grill section, stone-baked pizza or our freshly prepared pastas, our passion for high quality dishes is the main focus across all of our restaurants.
We had a large booking for 15 people on Saturday. Most of the food was lovely and the service was excellent. The members of the group that had the roast turkey meal however were not happy. It came out swimming in gravy and I mean swimming. We didn't sent it back as with a large group like that it would have delayed eating.
Starter was still frozen and the fig crackers had a piece of cheese so tiny and it was dry! Food was average and service not great! Cocktails had to be sent back as incorrect. Shame as it was a treat for Christmas for my employees!
I always have a lovely time here with family/friends/colleagues! We go back again and again, nothing's too much trouble and the food is very good and nicely served, even at busy times. Well done to all at Wildwood.
Hi wildwood All 6 of us had a lovely evening and the food was delicious particularly liked the garlic bread we had the burgers and the risotto for our main meals definitely recommend And the brownies are yummy, the raspberry sorbet was a bit sour, but we'll be back in the new year.
We had lunch for my brother's 50th Birthday and we were very well looked after. We weren't rushed and had a lovely couple of hours just eating lovely food and drinking the very nice house wine. Many thanks to everyone..
Lovely early Xmas party at Wildwood with wonderil food, excellent service and. I’ve atmoshere. The team worked hard to look after us and everyone had great time, thank you all.
The young lady who appeared to be managing the restaurant was making the whole experience a class act. when asked she said she was not the manager but I informed her of our great time, food and service!
it Was my first visit to Wildwood and I was really impressed with the food, the staff and how great the service was. I would recommend you to anyone. It’s a really lovely venue too.
Your team did very well in getting meals to 10 people at pretty much the same time. There was just a bit of a delay in ordering dessert. I don't think you were expecting us to want any.
Always a pleasure. Only criticism is that service was a bit slow / it was difficult to attract staff attention, which was odd as there were only 3 or 4 tables in at the time. Good food as usual, excellent provision for kids.
Wild Mushroom Risotto with added chicken was delicious ! My friends sea food one looked equally great. Loved the flat bread garlic bread too. Been a couple of times before and always return if in Didcot for lunch.
Everything was lovely, except my partner in crime asked for the vegan risotto because they are lactose intolerant, adding chicken because they are not vegan, and still ended up in a lot of pain at the end of the night.
Lovely food and great cocktails
We've tried hard to forgive Wildwood through a number of not entirely positive experiences over recent years, mainly the result of incredibly slow service even when almost empty rather than the food which has in the main been very good, however this latest visit may well be the last. Not only did we wait 45 minutes for our main course when we were only the second table to be seated but the food was very poor - my wife ordered a fig sald from the Specials menu which arrived not just cold but almost freezer cold in the case of some ingredients, and I ordered a Moroccan lamb pizza which was swamped in the raita dressing rather than having a light drizzle and I couldn't taste anything but yoghurt. Added to this the fact that the childrens mini burgers were burnt I'm sure I don't need to explain why we probably won't be back. It's a shame as it's a great venue with a touch of class lacking anywhere else in Didcot, but until you can get both the service and food right at the same time it just becomes a waste of money.
Food was very poor
Great meal. Great service. Definately going back again!
Food and service were great, a lovely place for a meal out
Booked on line so could not have been easier. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.
Really enjoyed the food an good service.
Service appalling. Rude and disinterested staff. Not botheres or apologetic in any way when a mistake was made with the order. This is not the first time we have experiences poor service here
Delicious food...when it eventually came
Always happy to go back
The waiter was extremely kind when my son bumped his head (entirely his own fault!). This is already regular haunt of ours and we will continue to go back!
Service was fantastic and couldn’t fault the blonde lady who served us. The lady who served us our drinks may need further training in customer service - was made to feel like we had upset her by ordering drinks as she slammed them down on the table and looked extremely miserable. The seafood risotto wasn’t the best - came out quite sloppy, bits were cold and calamari looked still raw. Also there was only one tiny piece of salmon on the plate. The steak and pasta dish we also had however, was lovely. Not a great atmosphere and was extremely quiet we thought for a Saturday night and we couldn’t quite understand why they closed the coffee machine before we had even had our mains - even though it wasn’t a problem for us I could imagine it would be for others.
Loved the lemon pollenta cake, please make it a regular!
