About Wild Goose Restaurant
Wild Goose Restaurant is set in 100 acres of beautiful parkland and lakes on the fringe of Chester, serving locally sourced seasonal food in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Our bar has a selection of Cheshire ales and more familiar beers while our wine selection brings together quality wines from small independent vineyards.
We are open all day serving freshly ground coffee and homemade cakes. Our lunch menu runs from 12pm to 2.30pm Wednesday to Friday with dinner served from 17.00 to 21.00. Saturdays we open at 10am and served food from 12pm to 9pm (sorry were closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, every one needs a weekend!)
Sundays for us is about a great Sunday Lunch. Served between 12 noon and 6pm.
We look forward to welcoming you.
The Wild Goose Team
Well the reservation was cancelled by yourselves so I can't give feedback
A great find we drove from Leamington spa to take our 94 year old grandma for Sunday lunch and were very impressed. As Restaurant owners ourselves we crave a good experience and you didn’t fail us!! I know she I’ll revisit with various friends and we will definately come again next time we are in the area. Good job guys. If I had to be super picky I would say it was slightly cool in the restaurant and the roast potatoes a little hard. The service and quality of the rest of the food more than made up for this and the interior design was really stunning 👍
Fab as always
Service was outstanding. We felt very well looked after, staff were extremely welcoming - especiallly so as we had 2 babies and a toddler with us. A gentleman (possibly the manager) was extremely attentive and we all said how something like that makes all the difference. Can't wait to come back soon! Recommending you to everyone.
Fantastic Sunday lunch! Food was beautiful & the staff weren’t on top of you constantly.
Very enjoyable Sunday Lunch on New Years Eve. Wild Goose is a hidden gem surrounded by fields and fishing lakes on the edge of Chester: restaurant was new in 2017 and we never realised what it offered. Food was excellent in generous portions: Manager and staff were even better. Try it and leave with a smile on your face: we did.
We have dined at the Wild Goose now on several occasions, the service is second to none, chef and his team are delighted to accommodate the strangest of food requests, and James the Manager and his team have the highest standards, creating an ambiance which is homely, classy and understated all at the same time, the customer service shown to all customer is fantastic and we will return again and again. Thank you. The 3 Pugs Gin Team.
Service excellent, food very disappointing. Parsnip and blue cheese fritters ( no blue cheese ) Both my self and my wife tried to taste the slightest hint and she hates blue cheese. The phesent was over cooked dry and I would say tasteless, but all you could taste through the dish was the strong taste of the gravy. And I say gravy as it was in no way a red wine sauce. My wife again tried it and she summed it perfectly when she said it tasted like strong bisto. On top of this the mashed potatoe was microwaved It had the distinct taste potatoe has when microwaved. On top of that it was hard and rubbery My wife’s vegetarian pasta was again tasteless and greasy. I would of complained at the time but it was a special occasion and my wife didn’t want any attention drawing to ourselves as there was only two other couples in the restaurant. I will say the waitress who served us was excellent, polite and a friendly. Another reason why we didn’t want to complain at the time. Your chef must of at least known there was no blue cheese in the fritters and no red wine in the sauce. He should be ashamed of the food he served us.
We loved sitting in front of the log fire after our meal, this was our fourth visit to the Wild Goose and the first time we have managed to enjoy the fire. Is it possible to review the table and seating layout to make the fire more accessible to more people?
Very welcoming and friendly staff
Simply excellent. Our first visit. A lovely hidden location and a very warm welcome! Great Sunday menu, well prepared, elegantly served, and delicious. We’ll definitely be back.
The service was very good. Attentive but not too much. Just right ! My food was delicious. Wine was good.. All we wanted was to relax and enjoy our food and wind down.
A lovely warm welcome , not rushed, will be going back in the new year. The food was very good , not much else I can say , other than if you have not been , it is well worth a vist. Thankyou to all Wild Goose staff. and a very happy New Year.
Warm and friendly, lovely ambience staff outstanding.
We were very pleased to discover you yesterday, and really enjoyed the food and service, as well as the setting. We have already recommended you to our local friends and no doubt you will see us again soon.
Love the wild goose. Never been disappointed each time we have been, everything is perfect. Had an awesome time at the soul evening. It’s like having your own personal party, the venue is so cosy and inviting that every guest is happy and smiling towards each other creating a wonderful atmosphere . Well done James and the team.

The setting is beautiful and the atmosphere and ambiance is great. Food is delicious and the staff make you feel so welcome. Such a friendly, warm and cosy feel to the place. Would highly recommend the wild goose.
A nice, cosy, welcoming atmosphere (particularly the sofas by the fire) and lovely friendly staff. A great place for a meal or a morning coffee with friends.
