I felt very safe when we enter the pub . EveryThing was in place gels track and trace etc . The food was lovely and the staff were great . Definitely be back .
Great Covid Secure safety measures implemented but the atmosphere was still good as we felt relaxed. Food was superb as always, and service timely and distant!
I have been to the wheatsheaf for the last three weeks for Sunday lunch, I would have given 5 stars ⭐️ however, the last two weeks the meat has been tough and had gristle in it unfortunately and my wine glass was dirty. Sorry but the issues need to be addressed
COVID organised excellently and food good as well. Service from Sophie also excellent
Another excellent stay really good value
Already booked for next week
I love this place. Food was beautiful the girl who waited on was very friendly. Very nice and clean with excellent COVID measures on place. Cant wait to come again
Always great at The Wheatsheaf.
Great service, fantastic food!
Really enjoyed the food and staff were efficient and friendly.
Great service, very happy friendly staff, will definitely be returning
I think that the food and service was good, but the food was incredibly expensive.
Lovely food that arrived very promptly. Our service was great and very attentive whilst not being overly so. I appreciate things are difficult with Covid, however this is probably one of the only few times I’ve eaten out since, where I’ve not felt on edge, but rather safe and secure. Thank you for helping me and my boyfriend have a lovely anniversary meal.
Fantastic food and service
Hotel nice and modern but Thought food and drinks were overly priced for what it was breakfast I had one peice of toast cut in half with two poached eggs thought room was nice but not enough information in the room too use coffee machine or no other information about the times for breakfast staff were lovely
Considering we sat to eat at 20:00, we were finished our deserts and cocktails around 22:15, however had to repeatedly ask them not to remove the plates and glasses that were clearly not finished with. It very much felt like the kitchen wanted to close and therefore tables were to be cleared. It was a disappointing way to finish a lovely meal and evening.
Fantastic service, great safety measures in place. The wheatsheaf never fails to disappoint! Every time you go you get consistent fantastic service, food, atmosphere & drinks. Can not recommend enough.
We visit the Wheatsheaf a lot. The food is normally ok. We ordered a from the Deli sharing platter, a goats cheese starter, a mackerel starter, a soup and a fish & chips. From the deli starter had a large bowl of olives which were ok but very small, not the large juicy ones we’d expect. The goats cheese starter was just ridiculous a couple of tiny pieces of goats cheese and some garnish - not acceptable so we sent it back. Mackerel starter was two tiny strips of mackerel on pea purée with garnish- not value for money. Soup was lovely but only half a bowl! Fish and chips was a decent portion size & the fish was fresh and cooked well. We like the Wheatsheaf but eating there is a bit hit and miss, the menu is too meat based, please add more vegetarian choices, the food is very well presented but the portions are way too small for the prices. It’s basic pub food with fancy garnish at ridiculously expensive prices for what it is. It’s table service until about 10pm then it changes to bar service only which defeats the whole object of trying to stay Covid safe. We were served by Jess who is always lovely, friendly, helpful and a brilliant waitress.
I would like to congratulate Wheatsheaf on their service we had received on the evening of the 10th September 2020. The whole experience was professional and positive. We were impressed with the new layout of the restaurant in keeping with the Covid 19 protocols. We felt save and protected with the large screens around the tables. We were also impressed with having paper free menus. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will definitely book with you again in the future.
Has very good Covid measures in place.
Its a lovely relaxing atmosphere to have a meal with friends and family or just as a couple. Food is always well presented and delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful. 3 courses for £25 is definately value for money.
It was our first visit but certainly won't be our last. Everything about our visit was excellent..Thank you
Great Sunday lunch as always. Best in town.
Took our neighbours for Sunday lunch but disappointed as not as good as normal Wheatsheaf standard.
The entire weekend experience was great.
