About Wharf Street Bistro
Cosy up riverside at Warkworth’s Wharf Street Bistro. The scenic drive is almost as good as the destination, decorated with a contemporary-rustic theme and run by a friendly team. Dine on classic bistro offerings from a range of cuisines, with a glass of craft beer or New Zealand wine, as you enjoy the relaxed atmosphere by the water.
The staff were very friendly. Unfortunately the menu had very few vegetarian choices. The vegetarian slider was very disappointing as the portabello mushroom was so small it was practically invisible so this was definitely not value for money. Overall the food was expensive for what we had. Also the bottle of wine was overpriced.
Great birthday dinner, thanks. Will certainly be back with friends next time.
Great food , great service.
Great atmosphere, welcoming staff and great food.
Great lunch with quick and great service!
Fabulous food and super friendly staff. Thoroughly, recommended.
Our new Favourite Restaurant!
Fabulous service and truly delicious food! We will be back...
Very good meals! Lovely atmosphere. Thank you.
Excellent experience, will be back. Amazing chef!
We all had a lovely Birthday celebration dinner thank you. The food wass delicious. Our 4 year old grandaughter was entertained with the felt pens and colouring in provided. We had comfortable seats and 1 of our party who is vegetarian was very happy with their vegetarian selection in the menu. The only negative thing was my husband felt the size of the fish portion serving was a little small for him!
Keep up the great service !!
As always the food was absolutely delicious - thank you.
Very busy so a little noisy but excellent food & service
The food was delicious and servicing amazing as always
The leaks with the fish on the menu were actually leeks and they were delicious!
The restaurant was well presented with polite and attentive staff. A waitress came to deliver something to our table and split a used finger bowl of water over the table and myself. Although she apologised and tidied up some of the mess the cutlery was not replaced until I had to ask for it once my main meal had been served. My companion had the mussels to start and then pork belly. Her mussels were overcooked and the sauce very watery which meant the lovely bread that accompanied the dish was soggy. The pork belly came with a mountain of mashed potato but no sauce. She said it was dry and chewy. The crackling looked amazing, but she said it was obviously deep fried separately from the pork itself in oil used for other foods, as she could taste chips, fish and other foods. For a fine dining restaurant which we had been recommended as very good, it was a huge disappointment. My friend told the waitress what she thought, and when we went to pay the bill, she took off the cost of a glass of wine. We had no issue with the wine, and this left both of us feeling unhappy with the transaction. As I was paying my friend didn't argue and because I didn't taste her food I didn't either. I understand that everyone makes mistakes and any place can have an off night, but for the prices we paid I expected much better and I would not go back as I couldn't guarantee a happy outcome based on my experience.
Food and service great as always.
Fabulous evening, great atmosphere and service. Food was delicious. Will definitely be back!
Great place with outstanding service and good food. Will make sure we return and also let friends know how good it is!
