Floor-to-ceiling windows flaunt the dazzling natural beauty literally on your doorstep when you dine at The Watermark. If you can bear to tear yourself away (tucking in to that succulent steak or pan-fried cod fillet), you can eat easy knowing that we take great pride in supporting our local suppliers and promoting animal welfare. Yes siree! We get our Casterbridge beef from carefully selected English farms where animal welfare is a top priority; insisting on Red Tractor accreditation, we champion a ‘farm to fork’ supply chain. What’s more, our Norbury Blue cheese comes from Surrey’s only artisan cheesemakers, and our eggs arrive fresh from local, family-run Great Hookley Farm.
Chef has created a seasonal, brasserie-style menu that celebrates the local Surrey produce available on our doorstep. Cooking up the authentic flavours of this bountiful home county, served with a side of stunning lakeside views, dining at The Watermark offers you a truly sensory experience.
Steak was disappointingly grisly and not hot. For what I paid I was expecting a top notch dinner. I have had better for less in a friendlier setting

You should check your records. You rang me to cancel our reservation at short notice telling me the restaurant was closed. Not impressed.
I booked a table for four for a business lunch. The food was delicious and the surroundings are stunning. Overall, really impressed.
The staff were friendly and the service was good, however, we were not very happy with the quality of the food and were expecting better. The view out to the water was lovely...

We stayed here for our 1st wedding anniversary and visited the watermark restaurant for dinner. When we arrived the restaurant was almost empty, there was no atmosphere at all and it felt like we were sitting in a conference room. We decided to give it a try. We both tried to order a sirloin steak and were told that it had run out and we needed to order the ribeye, which wouldn't have been a problem, but when it turned up my wifes steak was mostly fat and gristle, we tried to find someone to tell but there were no staff to be seen, we carried on with the rest of the food as we were so hungry, at the end of the meal we told the waitress that at least half of the steak was inedible but we were very quickly told that "yes, ribeye steak is like that" on the other hand, my one was perfect, they were completely different, we weren't offered another one or for it to be taken off the bill. We mentioned it to another staff member who just shrugged their shoulders. This should have been our perfect evening but it was ruined by a complete lack of customer service. I have never actually complained online about a restaurant before but I feel that this occasion was overshadowed by a whole staff team who just didn't seem bothered to be there. The bar staff were equally as dismissive, it just felt like we were in the way when all we wanted was a drink. We cancelled our breakfast reservation and left the hotel the first thing the next morning. Please train your staff to have at least a basic level of customer service.

Truly appalling from beginning to end. Terrible room, stark, bare, and lighting that is far far too bright. Shaky setvice, erratic and poorly timed. Menu is a laminate sheet, like a 1980's curry house. This restaurant is a shockingly poor farce. We will NEVER darken it's door again. Terrible, absolutely terrible.
A rather limited menu for a restaurant within a hotel setting. No gluten free menu or other special dietary menu was offered.
The food and the experience was absolutely atrocious and I will be requesting a full refund. Food was not very nice, but no waiter came round to ask how our meal was. We sent most of it back uneaten, including two plates of raw vegetables, and again no one asked us why. I was then charged for three desserts when I only ordered two. Additionally, my mother was accosted on her way out by a waiter who did not serve us, telling her she couldn’t leave as she hadn’t paid. I had been asked to pay upfront which I had done, but then was asked for additional 10% service charge, which as you can imagine I refused to pay. Staff were rude and unable to deal with minor requests (no prosecco and one member of our party had finished his drink by the time someone found a bottle for the rest of the party) and food was disgusting. I will absolutely not be recommending you and am asking for a refund for the food considering we didn’t eat it. Completely incompetent and disgustingly overpriced. Unfortunately this would not let me submit my review unless I gave at least one star, but to be clear in no uncertain terms, I would give zero stars for all the categories. A ruined Mother’s Day
I have arranged a dinner for my daughter 24th birthday. The staff were very cooperative and friendly. The food was extremely good. All my family members were really satisfied and have asked me to visit again.

Near enough no atmosphere. Shoved to the while there was an event going on. No music. No atmosphere. Can barely be classed as a restaurant, drab. Cream tea served without jam. Waiter disappeared so couldn't ask for anything. 'Discretionary' service charge added to the bill for dinner - so very rude to just add this. If I wanted to tip then I would and I certainly didn't but felt so uncomfortable I couldn't bring myself to tell him to take it off - I suppose this is what you're banking on though.
Great night stay, nice food & very good service.
We had a confirmed booking for Sunday 7th Oct at 1.00pm and received an email stating this. When we arrived at the restaurant, there was no booking under our name at all. Fortunately, you still had a spare table by the window so we had some lunch there. We came back to the hotel to celebrate our 9th Wedding Anniversary having got married at Frensham Ponds on the 9th October 2009. I think we would have been rather annoyed if there were no spare tables. Maybe your reception and reservations need to communicate to each other. Would have been really disappointing if you could not help us.
your records do not seem to have registered our cancelletion for 6th October, when we called to arrange lunch on 13th October and on 10th December.
Gladly giving you 5 stars all round. This was not my first visit but as always I and my guests were extremely pleased with the both the service and food and we have already recommended you to several people. We will be back!
Our second stay at the Frensham Pond Hotel and we found the Food quality,The buffet breakfast choice is excellent and plentiful.The evening menu has something for most people and is of a very high quality and very tasty along with presentation and service we found outstanding.We are looking forward to our next visit.
