About Vue Restaurant
With one of the best views of the ocean harbour, Vue is a luxurious setting to unwind and socialise at.
Nestled on the top floor of the new Grand Mercure Auckland Hotel, Vue is a dining oasis within a vibrant metropolis with food as beautiful as its views.
The menu reflects the seaside destination and is rich in local seafood, infused with flavours and modern techniques.
Tip: our dishes are best shared! We can never pass up the famous king prawn red curry or the delicate Cloudy Bay calm linguini. For a heartier meal, bite into a Wagyu double cheeseburger or braised lamb shoulder with a side of truffle fries.
As for desserts, they’re to die for! Smooth chocolate paves, a light, citrusy lime trifle and a toasted to perfection coconut crème brulee.
If you make it to breakfast, you’re in for a treat. The full buffet is complete with gluten-free items, a make your own juice station, buttery pastries, crispy bacon and eggs delicately cooked to order.
Vue offers a decadent dining experience that’s a feast for the palate and the eyes with stunning harbour views where you can watch the yachts and city life go by.
Fabulous views and terrific service and food - who could ask for anything more? We will be back!
Small but tasty menu, nice atmosphere, but slightly pricey if you want to fill up! They have a (small) kids menu too.
Beautiful view, friendly service, good food.
To many things not available to eat on a Saturday night. Mains and Dessert. Was a little disappointed on that front.
We went to Vue for our wedding anniversary, as we had good memories from when it was the Meridian Room. This time was sadly a disappointing experience. Whilst the views and atmosphere are still amazing, we were seated right next to the kitchen entrance, not ideal for a romantic anniversary dinner. The service was OK but the food was very disappointing for the price. $38 for strip sirloin. The steak was tough, and gristly and came (only) with chips. Really? Steak and chips for $38? It looked and tasted exactly like a $10 pub steak with fries, at least a pub steak comes with salad on the side! We decided not to stay for dessert and walked over to another Hotel restaurant on the waterfront... where they welcomed us with a complimentary glass of bubbles, for our anniversary and a special dessert treat to celebrate.
This was my favorite meal and eating experience during my trip to Auckland! Thank you and keep up the good work!
The view is great. Food is beyond expectations. Service is superb.
Food was fantastic but I think it would be a good idea for waiters to have some wine knowledge. Also not great to fill up a glass with ice so only half the bottle of cider fits and then take away the remaining cider rather than leaving it on the table, I am sure we paid for the whole bottle not half.
The venue is amazing, but some of our party were very disappointed with their meals. Staff we dealt with were lovely. It took a very long time to get our meals, and the restaurant was not very busy.
The entree size of cauliflower was far too big. It was enough for a family of four. Once the syrup it was in was eaten, the big mass of cauliflower left was not tasty. The dish could be improved with smaller quantity and a cheese sauce added. The coconut creme brulee was delicious but would have benefited from a scoop of ice cream..
Great food, amazing view. Friendly staff. We will be back.
Restaurant service was great, bar service not so.
Great meal and atmosphere but the service was lacking in terms of attention to detail. Waited far too long for drinks that our meals went cold. Food was very good though and we were compensated for service which made up for it some what.
Waited for more than 30min for a starter n the main
We really enjoy this restaurant. The food is excellent and the ambience and views add to the experience. Good service.
The waffle fries are awesome. I asked for a bruchetta to be made for a vegan, the bread was toasted on a grill with meat on it. Disgusting to a vegan. They kindly took them off our bill. The view is beautiful and worth a look.
We had a fantastic night, the food was lovely and service spot on. Thank you for making our night great. Nicola & Richard
Outstanding atmosphere. Delicious food. Delightful experience. We will come again.
Great food, great service and a great view, thanks!
Was too hot. Duck in laksa was tough.fish of the day was a bit underwhelming.
The staff were friendly and professional in equal measure. The views were great and we enjoyed hearing the pianist. We enjoyed our meals. Thank you
Great food, very warm and friendly service. And excellent views daytime or night. Only complaint was the Ribeye Steak we ordered as Medium came out without any hint of pink at all, it was far more toward the Well Done side. I recommend steer towards the seafood items on the menu.
Great Vegetarian menu and was thrilled with the fuss they made of our birthday girl.
The Vue is truly special. Last night was our third visit and the perfect venue to celebrate our friend’s birthday dinner. The food, service and decor is exceptional ... the panoramic outlook over the ferry building and on to the harbour is stunning. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this restaurant .. the wait staff really seem to care. My entree was scallops and chorizo which was superb. I then had the prawn linguine ... 100% fav for me - delish. Our compliments to everyone including chef, management and wait staff. We live close by at the viaduct and I work at Westhaven Marina so we are lucky enough to have this gem on our ‘doorstep’ .. a stroll home on a clear night after such a nice evening finished it off nicely. As an interior designer in a previous life I have a great appreciation for the decor and ambiance created .. well done
