A metropolitan destination celebrating Auckland’s urban inner city with a new fit out that soaks up the afternoon sun paired with spectacular city views. The food is gloriously casual reflecting true Kiwi spirit with fresh local produce, but reliable without a trace of it being mundane.
We can guarantee that you won’t be disappointed with all that is on the new menu, we’ve sourced top Kiwi products like oysters from Te Matuku, salmon from Akaroa, local Puhoi cheese, Raukumara venison, Wakanui beef and line caught sustainable fish, just to name a few.
Located within the restaurant is Attica bar, providing a sophisticated scene that conveys the depth and urban style of the inner city. Matched with a superb beverage and cocktail menu, Attica offers unmatched service in a spectacular, loft destination with city views.
Vue Restaurant can be hired out completely for larger events and will be available to take bookings for smaller parties.
We arrived on time and we taken to a window table with fantastic views over the harbour and waterfront . The resturant was about quarter full. We ordered drinks and our entrees and mains straight away for the two of us.Our drinks arrived about 10 minutes later, glass of wine was poured at the table as was my beer, unfortunatly my beer was a glass of froth, I dont think the waitress had ever been told to tilt the beer glass, as she just poured with one hand from a great height. After exactly 1 hour from the time we had ordered our entrees turned up. by this time we were without drinks and no offer was made to refresh our glasses we had to call the waitress back to ask for more drinks. Our first thoughts of the entrees was how huge they were to the point that they would have been fairly generous as a main. My first bite unearthed burnt Ciabatta under this rediculous sized entree, i waited for my partner to try her entree, and it had well under cooked rice. After waiting for 1 hour for this poorly cooked horendously presented plates we decided to walk out of a resturant for the first time in my life and i am well into my 50s so have been to a lot of resturants in my time. While paying for the two drinks we had consumed the head waiter informed us they are very busy serving room service at this time of the evening (8.15pm) almost as if we should have been gratefll we got served at all, no apoligy, sorry or thankyou. We had previously been to Vue for lunch and had a reasonable experience but we will never return to this resturant or recommend it to anyone. We are Accor gold card members and unfortunatly this facility is an embarresment to the brand and chain. This resturant has one of the best locations in Auckland and should be an absolute gem, the managment and staff really need to ask some serious questions of themselves. I could go on forever as this should be a gold mine for its owners unfortunatly they obviously take no notice of trip adviser and other review sites, maybe the should.
Clearly there were not enough servers working as it took far too long for our empty plates to be taken. Wait staff had tunnel vision when walking around; I could not get anyone's attention to ask for more cutlery or a drink.
Lovely meal in a fabulous location
2 of the 3 wines I ordered were not available. I asked for a bourbon on the rocks & received something sickly & sweet instead. Grab one deal offered value for money, starter was well cooked- scallops. My main - steak was cooked perfectly but completely overpowered by the over reduced salty powdered packet demi glacé gravy. Said gravy was ubiquitous, was on both our starters and both our main!! Salmon!! Weird. Whilst the roasted marrow bone was great in theory it was badly executed as it was not cooked long enough so was very unpleasant and oily. Too hit and miss for us to return, nice view, nice restaurant, shambolic drinks service and gross over reduced packet sauce on pretty much everything. It’s a shame as the chef cooking the proteins did a good job, the rest was lack lustre
The staff made our evening very special - it was my hubby's birthday. The view over the harbour from our table was amazing. The glass of champagne to celebrate was a nice surprise! Food was excellent. We lingered over our drinks after the meal without feeling we need to free up the table. Well done and we will be back
Main course dishes we had were fine although the side dish of roasted carrots seemed a bit overdone. Great views over the harbour.
Food was fresh, flavoursome, and beautifully cooked. Thank you. Greg.
Very good service. Food is tasty!
Started off with poor service from Jessie, approached the counter and as busy asked to take a seat, he the continued to seat two more parties who cam upto the counter completely forgot about us. Food was lovely although 5 raw or smoked dishes on the entrée selectionis not for everyone chef, my Tuna was lovely but at only $12 far to cheap dont think this dishes was costed out properly more variety here I think, Brussel sprouts on the side dish I knew they were out of season so no surprise they were not available, scotch fillet with bone marrow was nice but looked small for 300g needed something else with the dish as was very basic Overall has potential but chef need to fine tune here.
WE WILL BE BACK FOR THE FOOD AND GREAT VIEWS
Great spot, enjoyable meal at good price
elizabeth was very helpful
Vue is always such a beautiful place to dine, views are just amazing. First time taking kids and great to have the bar snack menu for them.
Bread was hard.
This was our 47th wedding anniversary ad the first time we used our Accor Plus card. Very excited we were! This was 26 Sept 2017. On arriving the gentleman was very good and took us too our table ad arranged for our cocktails to come. We had our entrees and the mains arrived before the entree dishes had been cleared. The very young waiter did not know how to cope with putting it all on the table? Our mains came my husband ordered eye fillet steak which arrived medium rare but was a bit chewy. It looked as tho it had been left under the heat lamps for a while as did the fish. We were looking forward to having a dessert ad waited ad waited for the table to be cleared. After 30mins the table next door was cleared first. They arrived after us!!! We waited another 5mins ad still no one came to see us so we got up ad left. We mentioned this to a young blond lady who apologised ad offered us a dessert but we were past this. She then moved into the bar area ad talked to the lovely gentleman called Mike who made our cocktails. Mike went to a lot of trouble to tell us about what was in the cocktails. We appreciated his manner and lovely altitude. We were going to book this Friday for 6 of us but were so disappointed in t whole evening being my surprise to my husband on our anniversary. We cannot t.v. a good recommendation on this event. Extremely unhappy. We hv had to out one star on service as it will not accept our review otherwise.
The on-line booking service did not register with the restaurant so I suggest ringing them if you want to make sure you have a booking. Not much point having an on-line system if it does not communicate bookings to the restaurant???? Food, service and views all great.
It wasnt a great experience unfortunately - probably one of the worst meals we have had in a restaurant.
A perfect dinner delightfully served for our Granddaughters 12th Birthday.
The main was a little big for a 3 course meal. For restaurant month it would be nice to have two options for dessert, but the rest was very nice. It was a quiet environment and it wasn't a busy night, so maybe some music or something in the background for the quieter nights.
Awesome view and great service.
The service was quite slow - especially for drinks. We were not offered coffee at the end of the meal, even tho we lingered for a while. The Restaurant Month meal was very nice. The standout was the blue cod starter - delicious.
Food was lovely, views good but restaurant lacked atmosphere.
Great views, average food and service.
