About Vue Restaurant
With one of the best views of the ocean harbour, Vue is a luxurious setting to unwind and socialise at.
Nestled on the top floor of the new Grand Mercure Auckland Hotel, Vue is a dining oasis within a vibrant metropolis with food as beautiful as its views.
The menu reflects the seaside destination and is rich in local seafood, infused with flavours and modern techniques.
Tip: our dishes are best shared! We can never pass up the famous king prawn red curry or the delicate Cloudy Bay calm linguini. For a heartier meal, bite into a Wagyu double cheeseburger or braised lamb shoulder with a side of truffle fries.
As for desserts, they’re to die for! Smooth chocolate paves, a light, citrusy lime trifle and a toasted to perfection coconut crème brulee.
If you make it to breakfast, you’re in for a treat. The full buffet is complete with gluten-free items, a make your own juice station, buttery pastries, crispy bacon and eggs delicately cooked to order.
Vue offers a decadent dining experience that’s a feast for the palate and the eyes with stunning harbour views where you can watch the yachts and city life go by.
It was a pleasure dining at Vue, thanks
Staff were excellent, professional and were still able to smile. Views were amazing but we didn't get a window seat so our views were limited, be sure to ask for window seating. We were on the set menu as using a Grabone voucher, Entrees were raw fish, raw beef, and Tofu none of which appealed to me at all. Mains were good portions and very good quality. I had the burger partner had a pasta dish, very nice.
The food was amazing...service a bit slow with a wrong drink order. Not sure how you can justify $10 for water is beyond me.
Fine dining and awesome view!
Awesome place and food!
You need to provide good Air Con in very warm summer like now, also we use to pay $99 for 3 courses meal not long ago and you compliment nice roll bread. Now we paid $89 for 2 courses meal without any complimentary. Would be nice
We’d bought a grabone voucher for the two course meal. Thinking it’d make us get treated like cheapskates/lesser beings. But from start to finish the friendly service was impeccable! The food was beautifully served and some of the nicest dishes we’ve eaten. Lovely restaurant, great views, very smart but relaxing. Was a bit sucky to have dressed up but to still see some people eating there dressed down but likely they were using the hotel and were having dinner there. That’s no detriment to the restaurant but worth a mention.
A very pleasant evening.
Menu is a little odd.
Happy hour drinks seemed pricey, 4 beers and 4 double vodkas $80. Dinner menu confusing no normal starter, main, sides etc instead everything seemed mixed together waiter had to tell us what dishes were main size. We had braised lamb which came out with a whole lot of watery juice which made everything else soggy. The other meal a scotch fillet steak, it was rare like asked but very tough and chewy it was flooded with a sauce that was average and shoestring fries. We both thought the meals were very poorly presented for a nice hotel, we both got sides broccoli and a salad which was nice. We stayed here a year or 2 ago and weren't impressed with the food then, thought we'd give it another go not again.
Beautiful views but with little done to manage sound in the restaurant it was imply too loud.
Great service with nice views.
Best view in town!! One of the few restaurants that featured a buffet with enough variety for Christmas Day dining. Superb service with attentive and gracious staff. Wine was reasonably priced as an add-onnto the welcome champagne. We had a memorable Christmas dinner. Thanks and happy new year!! Jean
Lovely place, maybe needs a sign down stairs so you know where to go / how to find the restaurant
We had a really great NYE dinner here. Food was fantastic, the staff were very friendly and attentive, the venue and views were lovely too. Would certainly go back and recommend.
Thank you, had a fantastic time for my friend's birthday. Awesome views of the harbour! Staff were very friendly, except for the maitre'd who needed to smile. Thanks again for letting us bring a cake at no extra charge. Will definitely recommend and will certainly be back.
Beautiful restaurant, great view of Skycity and Water views. Excellent service. Always enjoy staying at the Grand Mercure Auckland Hotel. Close to everything.
Vue restaurant, very good sea view for meals and good view for firework facing Skyt Tower, excellent service and food......all canapy, entree, main and desserts, love it
For xmas meal it was average. No gravy with the meat and no cream or custard with dessert was just odd. Roast parsnip was unusual as was no hot green vegetables. It reeked of providing the cheapest meal possible. On the upside the seafood was good
Really awesome food and atmosphere! Loved it! Great service! Bit pricey especially for the lil kiddies. But all you can eat woohoo!
People should not be allowed up to the restaurant before it has been cleared and reset after 1st seating? Do not offer a second seating if you cannot guarantee the same level of service and presentation as the 1st? Restaurant is definitely not a buffet style layout and should rather stick to plated offerings in future?
The staff were outstanding helpful and courteous
Perfect view, perfect place, perfect people!
We thought our dining was not value for money and will reconsider for next time.
Good food, great view and good service.
