About Vovem Meat & Liquor
Vovem is contemporary. Sophisticated. Innovative.
Offering a unique experience and authentic atmosphere, Vovem will be a bar and steakhouse of the likes Aberdeen has never seen before.
Above all, it oozes quality. Quality is a value at Vovem’s core, and it drives everything we offer, from our mouthwatering steaks to our on-trend bar and premium service.
Our waitress was absolutely amazing! I did not pick up her name but she was blonde. Lovely evening.
This was my fourth visit over the last couple of months. Each visit was the same - excellent food, friendly and efficient service, great ambience. No complaints whatsoever. Will be returning.
Very enjoyable and i will be back!
We tried Vovem, although we’d had mixed reviews. Our food was cold, my steak served in three pieces and tables too close together. I didn’t want to get intimate with strangers sitting each side, only my wife! Sorry but you are no Millard & Carter! A long way off ( and Malmaison too). Good luck, hope you make it and Zu’m dure Our friends will let us know if you do.
Total rip of!!! The steak should at least some with chips or some sort of potatoes
Hello After travelling up from Falkirk Staying at Marriott Residence Recomended by Hotel Ordered the Chateaubriand and when three quarter through it found a Vein or Sinew Asked our Young Male waiter to ask Chef about it and reply was " Chef said nothing wrong with it " when I asked if Chef went into detail our young server replied " I was too busy I never really heard him " we immediately paid and left with our bill being £143.00 We wont be back Steven Wilson Falkirk
Fantastic venue, best steak ever!
The service was very slow. A waitress explained the menu - neither of us could hear a word she was saying. We ordered a fillet steak well done and a rib eye medium. We waited a while then had a piece of white bread deposited on our plate without asking if we wanted it. I didnt! Then the steaks came - mine was very salty, grisly and fairly tough - my partners steak ranged from rare to medium rare. I told him to complain but being a man - he wouldnt. I ate about half the meal. I quite like salty food but for anyone out there who doesnt like salt it would be a nightmare. Sorry but we won't be back.
Unfortunately, our first visit to Vovem did not quite meet our expectations. We all ordered steaks and one of the party ordered his medium/well done (fillet). When it arrived and he cut into it it was pink in the middle and had blood running out of it - definitely NOT what was asked and clearly had not been rested long enough. We pointed this out to the waiter who advised that it was not blood but juice? Utter nonsense, however we did not want to make w fuss and ate it anyway. He absolutely should have been offered another steak, given it was expensive. All the steaks arrived on lukewarm plates and we all sat for about three minutes before the sides arrived. My husband had a bernaise sauce which was cold. The sides were very good and hot. We ordered a creme brûlée which came straight out of the fridge with no chrystalised sugar topping. We also ordered the cheeseboard which was overpriced given the cheese selection. There was one cheese - looked like Parmesan - that looked old and had a soapy flavour?? We asked the waitress if it was Parmesan and she said she thought so - but clearly she had no idea and was just agreeing with us. We were not offered coffee etc All in all we were all very disappointed with or experience. We were £70 a head - which I have no problem paying is the food/service matches the cost - but it falls very short. We wouldn’t recommend to friends and will not return.
Another enjoyable evening. We had a lovely waitress who was very helpful with her suggestions of steaks. On a previous occasion some months back I had commented in a review that I felt the steak tartare was quite small for the price and I was hoping this would have been rectified but this continues to be the case. On another note, while I don't begrudge paying for sides with meals I do think if you're paying around £36 for a fillet steak a basic sauce of your choosing (e.g peppercorn) should be included with an extra charge for premium sauces. The banana fritter was lovely as a dessert. A nice way to finish the evening.
My dad had a fantastic experience and will defo be back he said Ben was fantastic very polite and well mannered! Good at what he does
From Olivia taking us to our seats and our server Alex we had the best possible evening in vovem, the steak was cooked to perfection and did not have to wait long either. I would highly recommend a visit to vovem Aberdeen
Great as usual!
Second visit but unfortunately this one didn't live up to the first visit with regards to food. 2 people in my group had steaks that were not cooked as requested and the onion rings were anaemic and filled with large nuggets of un mixed/cooked cornflour.
Poor service, had to wait half an hour to order. The menu didn't everything available. Meat wasn't cooked to preference. Lack of chicken and fish dishes for those who do not eat red meat. Extremely poor and disappointing.
Lovely food and service. We will definitely be back and we have recommended.
Tuesday deal excellent value. Very tasty food, served quickly. Great service from Tom our waiter, friendly and helpful with the menu and recommendations. Will definitely return and encourage friends to visit
