Barbara, our server was great Nate served a great Manhattan!
We really enjoyed our evening thank you for hosting us
Maybe a couple more options on main menu
We are locals and its good to see vibrant, helpful and engaging staff, which makes for a pleasant atmosphere. Our waitress was very hospitable and efficient. The venue is certainly top class and we were very happy with everything. Tau ke!
Perfect thank you
Steak entree was great, fish of the day was totally bad. Waiter asked us why it wasn't eaten so we told him we didn't like it, zero flavor. He brought over the manager who appeared drunk and was very confrontational, made a scene and embarrassed us. In the end we paid for a dish that we sent back, and left hungry and rattled. Could have been a A+ experience if it wasnt for the horrible customer service from the manager.
Beautiful food here. As vegetarians, we opted to go for a selection of sharing plates as the options were more plentiful than going for a main. They were all delicious and really filling. The highlight had to be the dessert though! The chocolate fondant was A-MAY-ZING! I would absolutely go back here again. Well worth the trip.
Great meal and delicious wine. Waitress was helpful and attentive but had to find her to order a coffee at the end of the meal. Restaurant is large and quite noisy. Sound system is not very good at the front of the restaurant I.e. can only hear the bass. Sound system in toilet is excellent.
Terrible food. The chef managed to mess up even altre simplest things (eg side salad).
High quality food and great service
Lovely meal, great waitress, lousy table. When we visit Taupo we regularly visit Vine Eatery but this is the second time in as many visits that we have made an advanced booking and had a table allocated that has been located next to the kitchen and the entrance to the toilets despite booing online many weeks prior to Christmas.
The head chef was wonderful and we really appreciated his catering to our special requirements. However, the waitress who served us was quite rude (patronising when we asked questions about the menu, refused to come back and take orders for starters after leaving our table before we were done) and the food took a very long time to arrive. It was 30 minutes before we even got wine and some of it was served warm. The mains were very good but the starters were quite overpriced. Our table was also in an extremely loud part of the restaurant and we struggled to hear each other talk. Many thanks however to the head chef.
Fabulous service and food, great atmosphere- until the guitarist turned up the volume and later country music. Really didn’t mind it too much, but not to really my whanau’s ‘hung’ , plus couldn’t hold a conversation. Love the cocktail range - really well priced too.
Lovely food, excellent service and great selection of drinks Would recommend the 18 YO glenmorangie whiskey
Great place, great food, great service. We will be back!
A very busy night with a lively atmosphere but service was good, waiter friendly and food was delicious !
I realise it was a busy time but took 30mins to get a drink, an hour for starters which were lukewarm. Mains arrived quite quickly afterwards but mine was overdone (burnt and dry steak). Waiter was very nice, but either over worked or having a bad day, as many mistakes. Cutlery not clean and beer Bottle dropped by our table. Nice venue and atmosphere, just food and service not up to scratch.
Reservation was for 8pm. We weren’t seated until 8.30. It then took 15 minutes to be served. Took 15 minutes just to get our drinks. Very slow service especially for mains. Food overall very average considering the price and market you are serving. 2 of our starters were good - the garlic prawns and pork belly. Lamb salad was disappointing- couldn’t taste the Moroccan spices and no tzatziki dressing. Mains were disappointing. Risottos were ok, nothing special. The market fish was honestly terrible - never had a fish so dry and rubbery and we were told it was snapper which it certainly didn’t taste like. We were really looking forward to eating at the Vine based on the menus and the reviews but left completely underwhelmed and disappointed. Wouldn’t recommend to others, sorry to say.
Front of house/ staff we were initially met by who I don’t think was front of house wasn’t the most welcoming. However our waitress for the night was very lovely. LOVED the restaurant, great food & wine selection too. Very enjoyable.
Mike is the best!!
Very relaxed evening Food was excellent
Great food and atmosphere waitress was a gem
We dined on Christmas Eve for a special family get together and the service was uncharacteristically shocking! We had to chase up drinks several times just to get them and the initial food service wasn’t much better! Food was amazing as usual but I don’t think sitting upstairs is a good idea, it feels detached from the rest of the restaurant!
The mushroom risotto was delicious but the lamb in the lamb salad was very fatty. Sitting by the window was spoilt by at least 6 large flies buzzing around the window.
