About The Culloden Estate and Spa
Dine in Ultimate Style
Vespers is one of the finest restaurants in Northern Ireland. The décor is modern contemporary after an extensive renovation in 2019. The food is gourmet chic, while waiters ensure your glass never runs empty. Let us show you to your seat and we’ll show you how to dine in ultimate style.
Relaxed breakfast. Service attentive and polite. Food well presented and good quality.
The scones were not the best. I ordered a cherry scone, but it had no cherries in it. And all the scones were very dry. My wife ordered a cappuccino and the cup it was served in could have only marginally bigger than an espresso cup. However, the service was exceptional and the ambience great.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional and made us feel very welcome. The food was excellent and the service was first class. We had a very enjoyable evening nothing was too much bother , highly recommended and can't wait to go back
The food was delicious and well presented and socially distanced seating was well done. The waiting staff would benefit from some guidance on how to clear a table with confidence, order and elegance, that said the staff were very pleasant indeed. The bill was incorrect but the thing that really spoilt things for us was a family of 6 who were also dining in Vespers. The 4 children were constantly RUNNING in and out, in and out past our table, not socially distanced throughout our meal. The parents seemed not to care. A real shame, not what we would expect, dissapointing.
Beautiful surroundings and wonderful service, from one young man in particular, perhaps you can see who from your rota? He was super friendly, professional and attentive. The afternoon tea is honestly poor quality in terms of taste and freshness for a hotel of your standard. The savoury sandwiches were good but the scones really dreadful and the sweet deserts just ok. We would come again as it's a beautiful spot and as mentioned the service was really great. But you should review your afternoon tea offerings, I think you could do better. Thank you.
Great choice of menu and accommodated my husband who is gluten free. Staff extremely professional during such difficult times.
Lovely day out
Absolutely lovely hotel and staff. Hotel decorated beautifully - looked wonderfully festive. Wifi a bit hit and miss otherwise everything perfect thanks
Was disappointed with our visit overall Table wasn’t ready when we arrived Service was slow and below levels expected (took over 40 minutes until we received our first drink - and even then they had forgotten to bring 1 pint of Guinness Mixed up our starters with a different table Prawn and crab cocktail starter consisted of about 4 small prawns with a load of lettuce Main course turkey and ham was also miserly. Considering the prices charged I would normally expect better Will not be back
We went for afternoon tea for our friends 50th . Towards the end of the afternoon we struggled to see any staff for drinks or even more tea/ coffee. We waited ages on our bill and drinks and in the end had to go to the bar and ask for the drinks. My friend did complain and we received the drinks free of charge.
Looking forward to coming back again!
This is becoming a regular outing for myself and my friend. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Celebrated our first anniversary after getting married in the Culloden last August. Always top service given by staff, extremely friendly yet professional. Given current situation with covid our stay allowed us to feel normal and safe
Beautiful hotel in beautiful surroundings, staff are very professional and very helpful, lovely views from the bar area - a very relaxing hotel
Did not make a booking nor attended.
Really enjoyed our meal and service. Staff were friendly attentive and efficient. Appreciated that the exec chef walked round as asked if we enjoyed our meal. Next time in Culloden we hope to return .
Lamb was over cooked. “While waiters ensure your glass never runs empty”, we had to refill our own glasses and find staff to order more drinks. Would expect more attentive staff if we were to dine in ultimate style.
We had a lovely evening in the Mitre restaurant and were particularly pleased that our friends were impressed by the whole experience. The food was beautiful and the amuse-bouche were delightful. Niall and Samantha were extremely attentive throughout the evening and the other waiting staff were both pleasant and welcoming. Thank you all for a 5* evening.
Took my wife for afternoon tea. The hotel is stunning and the service throughout was fantastic
Fabulous! We had a first class champagne afternoon tea and all topped off with a lovely celebration slate from the venue to wish us a Happy 10th Wedding Anniversary!
friendly service, good food, and loved the harpist
This was a Birthday treat for my mother in law. I had noted this when I was making the online booking and a Birthday treat was very beautifully presented when we finished our lovely afternoon tea
Beautiful setting with a delicious selection of sandwiches/ scones/ desserts. However, would like to mention that the tea got cold too fast, we had to ask for it to be reheated a few times and there was a lot of constant disruption from guests being brought past us as the afternoon tea set up is very close to the reception. Overall it was a very pleasant afternoon and the lady who took care of us was very friendly and helpful.
I love the Culloden and have attended the Mitre Restaurant every Christmas for the last 10 years. On special occasions it's a no brainer to me where we should eat. It has ALWAYS been a special place for me and will continue to be so. Jennifer Dunbar served us last Christmas and last night, she's a great ambassador for the hotel.
