About Veer Dhara
The concept of the Veer Dhara was the brainchild of an ambitious and visionary entrepreneur, named Surinder Singh Hora who is based in Central India. His objective was to present a new, different and exciting way to appreciate Indian food, and to demonstrate that excellence, diversity, tradition and affordability can all go hand in hand, and combine to give you an experience different to anything you have known so far.
The Veer Dhara invites you to participate in an authentic translation of Indian Cuisine. We are fully equipped to serve St. Albans and the public at large, with our exciting and varied range of dishes, prepared with unrivalled supreme culinary excellence, and served in stylish, elegant and stunning surroundings.
The most amazing food and fantastic service - we will be back!
The food was mild, and very greasy.
Quality of food was excellent. Whitebait starter with a pepper sauce very nice. Substantial starter which some people may prefer to share between two people. Curry sauce for my Korai chicken dish had great flavours. Nan bread light and texture excellent. Reasonable choice of wines at affordable prices. Service friendly but could pay a little more attention to small details like moping up dribble of wine spilt when pouring. Overall, great food at an affordable price. I'll be back again.
We (2 adults & 2 kids aged 8,11) had a very satisfying lunch at Veer Dhara. It was our first visit there but we will surely return and we certainly recommend. My wife and myself love Indian food (we are not from India) and we've found all the dishes we've ordered to be delicious. Our kids found the Chicken Biryani, Saag Paneer and Samosa to be too spicy, but loved the Chicken Korma, Murg Malai Tikka, the Naan, and of course, the Gulab Jamun. The service was fast and the dishes (2 starters, 2 mains and 1 side dish) were big enough that we couldn't even finish everything despite it being very tasty. We actually ate more than we should've.. Due to Covid19 the buffet was not served that Sunday and instead we were given the Mon-Sat Xpress Menu. The other diners were seated away from us so we felt safe. At the end of the lunch we've asked for Chai Masala, which was not on the Menu, and the staff handed us a lovely Chai. Things to improve: our 11 yrs old girl ventured to the ladies toilets and reported they were not clean to her standard.
Family meal early on a Saturday evening during lockdown and a really pleasant experience with great food and service.
The food was really good but the meal was somewhat spoilt by the waiter clearing the table before we had finished. Given we did not get any food for 55 minutes which was not a problem - we had poppadoms and drinks- then any ‘ hurrying up’ was unforgivable.
Really tasty meal as usual. Staff did well despite covid restrictions.
Lovely food and great service.
Great food with some lovely dishes I’d not had before. Definitely be back.
Great food, great service and I will be back
I booked on line which was confirmed by email but when i got there they said there was s wedding and they'd blocked reservations even though i had email confirmation. I wad not impressed!
Delicious food, stunning kulfi!
Excellent all round dining experience
Lovely food, excellent attentive service and comfortable seating. Would have been perfect had the heating not been so high, however that was a minor negative. Would recommend.
Booked for Saturday evening and it took 35 minutes to get an order placed and then we were reminded about the 10pm curfew so felt a bit rushed. Wasn't very happy with the social distancing as there didn't appear to be any! OK so masks were being worn but I definitely felt that everyone was being squeezed in and the restaurant was full. That said the food was as good as ever!
Fantastic Evening Thank you
Amazing food, friendly & attentive staff. First ever visit but definitely want to return. Thank you for a lovely evening
Food was good as always, a bit of a wait for our main course. But had a great evening with friends. The 10pm closing time is something to get used to. We would have loved to stay a bit longer.
Great service and value as well as really tasty food
Two of the party suffered food poisoning for the following 24hrs. The meal was £96 for two adults and child and toddler. The Korma had the same sauce as the lamb Passanda (?) should be distinguishable and both puddings arrived wrong (saffron not vanilla and sorbet not ice cream) but we were charged for one still (?) the facilities first the children were dangerous as the kids both scolded themselves as the cold tap was boiling hot in the gents. So overall left felling ill and hugely disappointed.
Since Covid restrictions I have used both the take away service and eating in service. Take Away: Easy online ordering, payment at the door using contactless service, food is very tasty and good value Eat In: Fantastic table service, great atmosphere, great choice for both non veg and vegetarians. In person booking: easy and quick Online booking: Unfortunately when I did use this service the message from the web page was not passed to the floor staff. Luckily I went in and confirmed this. This is the only thing that needs imptoving.
The best Indian I have had in as long as I can remember. Genuinely outstanding.
