About Veer Dhara
The concept of the Veer Dhara was the brainchild of an ambitious and visionary entrepreneur, named Surinder Singh Hora who is based in Central India. His objective was to present a new, different and exciting way to appreciate Indian food, and to demonstrate that excellence, diversity, tradition and affordability can all go hand in hand, and combine to give you an experience different to anything you have known so far.
The Veer Dhara invites you to participate in an authentic translation of Indian Cuisine. We are fully equipped to serve St. Albans and the public at large, with our exciting and varied range of dishes, prepared with unrivalled supreme culinary excellence, and served in stylish, elegant and stunning surroundings.
The food was amazing. The staff attentive whilst not imposing on our conversation. Will definitely go again when/if next in the area.
We have never been disappointed here. The food is full of carefully balanced flavour, the atmosphere is good, the restaurant is very comfortable and we always feel well looked after. And yet it is also remarkably good value. I can't fault it!
Excellent dining experience
Service slow and unfriendly.
Love this restaurant. My favourite Indian restaurant in St Albans. Food excellent as usual.
This is the second time when I have felt slightly disappointed with the food. Came for a buffet, didnt quite enjoy the food. The real Punajbi food claim does not do justice with the food that is being served, I felt the Naan were not done properly, the samosas I had were not fried properly, while the paneer lacked a lot of flavour. Aloo tikki was really really well done, Gulab Jamun was great too. However, the first time I ate here about 1.5 years back was a complete different experience. Gace it a 5 star then but unfortunately cannot give the same rating now.
My main was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed my evening.
Chicken makhani- it's gravy can be more authentic (more smooth, flavoured and less sweet) and it's chicken can be better marinated. Starters were excellent. Sag paneer excellent . Dal excellent.
Very impressed with my first visit. Will be back.
The best Indian food in the Hertfordshire area by far!
The nicest buffet style lunch I have had in a very long time replenished frequently and plenty of choice highly recommend it!
Really enjoyed the Sunday buffet, good value and really nice food, dessert could be a bit more exciting
First time visiting Veer Dhara, the quality of the food and drink was exceptional. Service was helpful, fun and our group enjoyed the dining experience.
Excellent food, but a very noisy place, too many people squashed in. Service was a bit slow at times , probably because they were too busy
Excellent meal with good service and served in smart surroundings. Well done Veer Dhara.👍
We had an enjoyable evening at the Veer Dhara and will definitely return if we are in the area again. Thanks
Reasturant was ok but staff didn't make myself and my girlfriend feel welcome.Conveyer belt service as the reasturant was busy. Adjacent table had a mouthy drunk gobbing off which didn't help !
Excellent food & service, perhaps a little noisy!
portions of starters very small. price too expensive for type of food and quality.
Waitress was not aware of the dishes and could not speak proper english. Food was excellent. Drinks a little bit expensive. Overall i would come back and recommend as the resturant is one of the better ones around.
Attended for the Sunday buffet and it was excellent!
I visited VD after aprox 9 months and was rather disappointed for the following reasons. The restaurant was cold. Toilets were very cold. My food was very good and tasty but my friend who ordered a chicken karahi got a very plain waterery chicken curry. When we mentioned this to the waiter he argued it was! The waiter did not understand the request. I appreciate its not on the menu but this should have been accommodated. Later, a more senior manager asked us how the meal was, we explained and he said he can change but it was too late. The restaurant got quite busy later and you only has 2 waiters and one girl who was behind the bar. Generally I used to come to VD a lot and found the 5 star service the best. The last few years VD is like any other restaurant in St Albans.
Was generally very pleased with the food but the service was slow with regards to drinks. We were given a drinks menu but no one took an order so after 15mins my husband had to ask a waiter for drinks. Was surprised also that after putting diwn that it was a birthday celebration nothing was mentioned. There's no point asking for a reason for a booking when you do nothing to improve customer service.
