Very disappointing Easter Sunday Lunch for our large group of friends and family. No one enjoyed it.
All staff very courteous and attentive on the day and at breakfast the next day. I did have to ask again to ensure booking had been made but turns out wouldn’t have been a problem anyway because pretty empty at 17:30. Food very good. Nice and bright restaurant
We love the quality of the food, the service is second to none, the best in Southport. The wine list needs reviewing but that’s only my opinion and taste, the wine list could also do with showing the alcohol percentages. It’s hard to choose a wine without knowing how rich or heavy a wine is as the descriptions don’t always live up to the taste but knowing the alc % helps. We were recommended a wine that was not on the list and it was far better than the £40 Shiraz I was about to order so many thanks for that.
I've eaten there on a number of occasions and it's always been great however, I went for breakfast with my family and unfortunately it coincided with Mothers day and the hotel had a wedding the day before so the dining hall was packed and the service was stretched and the food on the buffet kept running out so there was long delays between each refill so by the time you got your eggs from the kitchen if you wanted the full English you had to wait for the sausages then the bacon then the tomatoes etc; so by the time it all came your eggs were cold. I'm not blaming the staff because they were always courteous and working flat-out and everything worked out well in the end but it was stressful and not the best way to start your day.
Excellent service and meal. 3rd Visit and will come back when staying in Southport.
We arrived 15 minutes late due to no available parking and as such we were told our table was no longer available. We waited for 20 minutes before being seated. The table service was slow and had to ask the waitress twice for our drinks. The portion size of the sushi has decreased quite considerably over the last few visits. I must say, we do visit every few weeks so are not irregular customers to say the least, however it has an air of pretentiousness and feels as though you are treated superior to other customers if you appear to ‘know’ the staff and/or present as wealthier than others. Whilst I want to say we won’t visit again, this would be a shame as we have always enjoyed the food, particularly because it is hard to find a nice local sushi restaurant, however we will certainly not be visiting back in a hurry.
Well -it was a bit of a car crash to be honest. 10 minute wait for table, main course order lost so 50 minutes wait after starter. Steak completely over cooked as was the replacement! Front of house very good at trying to resolve and fair discount applied to bill but kitchen spoilt Mother’s Day somewhat!
Always great at the Vincent
My favourite place to eat when I visit Southport. A great menu and excellent service.
Slow service. Food was ok but not better. Disappointed.
Afternoon tea for a big birthday with husband. Food very tasty and service excellent. The waiter - sorry didn’t catch his name - was so considerate and made us feel really special. Thank you
Best steak in Southport. Andi's team work tirelessly to make sure it works for the customers and are very accomodating. Awesome
Excellent attentive staff. Sushi superb as always
Overpriced sides and drink. Mains fair price
Afternoon tea for 8 people for a 60th birthday...Vegetarians have a choice of cheese or egg, come on folks...there's tons of options out there. Hummous and peppers, roasted veg and feta, curried/coronation chickpea or even the good old cucumber sandwich, an afternoon tea classic. We had to ask for pots of tea as none was forthcoming. There were no offers of top ups, no one checking the milk supply. The V-cafe was pretty empty so I can't even blame it on your staff being rushed off their feet. When I booked they asked if it was for anything specific, and I said a 60th birthday. I was told they'd made a note of that and would do a dessert plate...that never appeared. Disappointing
We celebrated my daughter's 13th birthday here recently with afternoon tea and I would just like to say that the service was impeccable, staff were amazing and extremely helpful. Big thank you to Andy, the girls had a fantastic day!
Always really enjoy the food. Staff very friendly. Nice atmosphere. We have been coming for many years.
Excellent as always.
Disappointed with the service; not what we have come to expect from the Vincent. Slow taking our order for food and drink, but not slow bringing the bill. Food when it arrives was tasty.
We were really looking forward to a meal here but unfortunately we were thoroughly disappointed. The snobbery of the waiting on staff was disgusting to be frank, the food was overpriced and not all that tasty. Many restaurants in the southport area are twice as good for half the price. The Vincent was not what I expected unfortunately
Delicious lunch and excellent service.
Lovely place, nice food. Lovely waiting on staff once seated. However on arrival no front of house so left standing for what felt like forever whilst a waitress moved a table and set it, no guests were awaiting this amendment. Eventually she came to us and seated us. It felt like if she took long enough someone else would deal with us. And no printed kids menu, the waitress had to tell us from memory. which I always feel is a way of saying child tolerant not child friendly. Would visit again tho.
great all round night!
Great meal. I think the restaurant could do with a makevover looking a little tired.
Service is always great in the restaurant and bar. Roast dinner not as good this time as usual. Bring back the green cabbage and more roast potatoes. Wine list needs updating offering a better selection and wine glasses need updating they are big like gin glasses.
