About Vale Grill
If you’re hungry for food that’s deliciously modern, farm-to-table fresh and scrape-the-plate tasty then you won’t want to miss dining at the Vale Grill. This is where the culinary magic happens. Our chefs are a dab hand at creating unforgettable dishes from the finest locally-supplied ingredients, season after season, and given the explosion of fantastic artisanal food producers in this part of Wales, there’s plenty to choose from. Our Sunday lunches are outrageously good. It’s not just the menu that’s fresh and inviting, either.
The Vale Grill’s stylish, floor-to-ceiling glass conservatory ensures dining here is always a light-filled and uplifting experience with spectacular views of the Vale Resort’s Lake Golf Course to savour. It’s the perfect place to enjoy our afternoon tea with friends and family. In the summer, weather permitting, we open up the terrace, too, so you can dine al fresco.
Starters came out cold. Main meals weren’t very warm either. I had ordered a water with the drinks but it didn’t come and I had to order it again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and stay at the Vale Resort. The service was good and the food delicious.
Good food and service. Well done to the team for working in difficult conditions and dealing with grumpy customers due to outdoor dining. We enjoyed our visit. Thanks
Excellent meal. Triple cooked chips were the best I've ever tasted. Excellent service.
It was a cold day but thankfully the rain held off. The service as always was excellent even though the servers got grief from people allocated uncovered seating. Charlotte was brilliant and Kyle was responsive and friendly. The food was good too.
Good food, excellent service. During the covid pandemic eating outside is difficult but they handled it well with a good amount of heater all around. 100% recommend
Lovely evening however annoying to be asked to vacate our table after 1:45 when there were spare tables. We felt rushed however food was nice.
The guy who helped us I wish I knew his name, amazing service, had a beard behind his mask but he severed us before lockdown and he was amazing then too!
COVID-19 restrictions limit the availability for dining services currently but the staff at the vale went above and beyond to ensure myself and my partner who is heavily pregnant we’re accommodated. We are very grateful to have had such a great experience, each staff member we encountered had a polite manner. Looking forward to returning in the near future.
Had an amazing stay at the vale . Me and my wife had lunch and a evening meal the food was outstanding service was brilliant especially in the the afternoon when we had a young lady called Courtney tend to our table. She was happy polite chatty a refit to the vale. We will definitely be coming back
The staff here were great. Sadly the food was not to the standard I was expecting especially considering the cost. Not great value for money and neither myself or my partner enjoyed our meal.
We were so impressed with the value of our hotel stay with the three course meal included. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. It was a lovely treat to be able to stay before Christmas and we hope that the whole team at the vale has a lovely Christmas break! It’s been a tough year so well done for all of the work that you’ve done!
Nice food but limited veggie choices
The staff were able to provide an excellent service, in a friendly manner, without compromising the safety of the guests. It was clear to see the team working really hard to keep all areas sanitised. Despite the challenges of running at a reduced capacity, the restaurant still has a lovely atmosphere. The food was presented to a high standard and had the taste to match. We will definitely be back again in the new year.
Couldn't ask for more - the staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. Upon knowing about a black pepper intolerance the staff checked what was suitable, they even told us that we could prebook a certain dish in future specially made without black pepper (as we all know chefs love to season everything! 😉) we will be back very soon hopefully
Friendly, helpful, accommodating. My partner has an intolerance to Black Pepper which we notified the serving staff about, and they then went to check with the kitchen staff which food items were suitable. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the steak and my partner the slow cooked beef shin with the best mash!
Outstanding evening meal ,and breakfast, room very clean and excellent staff.
The menu did not have a great variety which was a shame, and the standard for the food wasn’t great. But the staff were really pleasant and professional, it was a joy to see.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, praise to Connor who made us feel very welcome
There was a young lady at the bar who served us her name was Katie and she was very lovely made us a lovely drink and was very polite and professional.
Whilst we had other issues with our stay, our dining experience was pleasurable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The drinks selection was limited, but this didn't have too much of an impact. The only criticism of the meal was that both my partner and I ordered steak, I ordered mine medium rare and she ordered medium. Whilst mine was a perfect medium rare, hers was less cooked in the middle than mine. By the time we noticed the difference she was already full and so no fuss was made at the time, it's just something to be mindful of. The only reason for the mark down for atmosphere was that it was incredibly cold in the dining area, reducing the overall comfort levels.
I am sorry to say that we did not enjoy our experience at the Vale Grill; it was our 36th Anniversary and we left feeling very disappointed with the evening. To begin with, the restaurant was extremely cold. My wife ordered a starter that should have included goat's cheese, but none was on the plate. My Thai Curry was vegetarian (Tofu and Vegetables) and the waitress explained that I could have chicken added instead or in addition, either for a £5 supplement.; I chose to have the chicken and the Tofu (as I'd never tried the latter) and imagined that the chicken would be cooked into the dish as well; no, what I received was the curry with Tofu removed and a piece of fried chicken thrown on top of the curry - how amateurish! My wife's meal arrived with mine, but it was lukewarm, so my wife sat and watched me eat my meal, while I returned the compliment when her's arrived 10 minutes later. The manager advised us that he would remove the £5 chicken supplement to compensate - what a joke - and when we received the invoice, even that minor concession did not happen. With our meal, we asked for some tap-water which was supplied at a cost of £1.90! And finally, on the invoice was a service charge that was never mentioned nor advertised on the menu. Thoroughly disappointed, displeased and we would not recommend this to anyone.
