About Tylney Hall Hotel - Lounges & Terraces
What could be more quintessentially British than a selection of blended teas and home-made sandwiches with cakes and scones with strawberry jam and lashings of clotted cream, all served on the finest china. The only choice you have to make is where to enjoy the experience, either relaxing in the ornate splendour of the Italian Lounge, enjoying the view of the gardens from our Grey Lounge or hiding away in our cosy Library Bar.
Afternoon tea is served from 2.00pm until 5.00pm daily for up to 6 people in our lounges. Smaller portions are available for children.

I ordered a takeaway afternoon tea. Arrived about 15 minutes early on my collection slot but no fuss, just a 60 second wait while the extremely polite staff went inside and picked them up. They placed them carefully in the boot of my car, wished me a happy Easter and away I went. Food was marvellous and a special mention for the cakes which were absolutely fantastic. Everything was neatly and securely packed into trays, which were then placed in a box and then a posh carry bag. All inn good condition after a 10 minute drive through winding country lanes. All this for £20 a head - great value. I have left a rating for the ‘atmosphere’ of 1 star, only because it’s pretty difficult to gauge this factor as I never stepped inside. Would highly recommend.
Very friendly, helpful staff arranged a beautiful afternoon tea for take away on mothers day. Great service and excellent value for money! Thank you so much!
We ordered an afternoon tea for 4 for my husband’s 60th birthday as a special treat during lockdown. We were so looking forward to it. Sadly, the quality and standard was disappointing, not what you’d expect from a place like Tylney Hall. The bread in the sandwiches tasted stale (as if it was a day or two old), and sandwiches seemed as if they’d been made hours earlier rather than freshly made. Inexcusable given we had a collection time allocated. The cakes were lacklustre, dry and hard - frankly I would have got better from a supermarket for a fraction of the cost. I understand in a lockdown situation, the hospitality business is suffering and under stress. But if providing a takeaway service, either maintain high standards (expected of a place like Tylney) or price accordingly. We feel disappointed.
Lovely quality afternoon tea for Mother's Day, expected a few more sandwiches and jam & clotted cream each as we had 2 between 3 of us. Also at Tylney Hall on Mothers Day we would normally receive a little gift, but nothing this year, which was a little disappointing after spending almost £60.
Lovely way to end the year with afternoon tea. Atmosphere wasn’t quite the same given social distancing due to lack of people at the earlier sittings; however, I couldn’t fault Tylney for that nor for the service which was superb. Mulled wine at the end was to die for — the dash of chilli and strawberries really worked! Thank you for a lovely day, yet again. We will be back!
Tylney Hall always provides a warm reception and is a sanctuary in this world of madness.
Our festive afternoon tea was absolutely lovely, from the welcome in reception to the service in the lounge, and was just what we needed to start our Christmas break. Delicious cakes and champagne too. Thank you.
Afternoon tea was incredible

It was amazing, nothing too much trouble
We had a lovely afternoon enjoying a festive afternoon tea. The staff were very polite and attentive and the Jazz was an added bonus.
Beautiful surroundings, excellent attentive staff and a great experience all round.
Service was excellent made to feel very welcome despite Covid restrictions. Afternoon tea was the best one we’ve ever had.
We were disappointed not to be seated in one of the lounges as we have been several times previously . The hall we were seated in lacked cosyness
My wife and I were gifted a champagne afternoon tea. We thought it was wonderful experience which we thoroughly enjoyed. We would love to be invited back for a complimentary afternoon tea just to make sure our experience wasn’t a one-off 😀
Best Afternoon Tea we have had with you yet.
Our host was just fabulous and the setting was lovely. In these strange times we felt extremely safe but able to enjoy a near normal experience. Brilliant job and thank you
Very welcoming staff, building was fantastically lit by coloured lights, very inviting. Excellent afternoon tea in a relaxed atmosphere.
It was a fabulous Xmas afternoon tea.. the decorations and the fire were lovely . Loved the choice of sandwiches and cakes... also the staff were attentive and really friendly
I had this afternoon tea as a present from last Christmas. Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions I was unable to attend untill yesterday. I invited my dear friend we were greeted at the door and shown to our table. The food was excellent and pots of tea really enjoyed. The atmosphere was so relaxing. The service was 1st class. An experience that I look forward to doing again. Thank you.
Lovely ambiance. Well presented food. Flavourful and appetising to look at. Attentive service. Jazz duo a bonus.
