About Turtle Bay Peterborough
Welcome to Turtle Bay Peterborough
Rum.. Reggae.... Jerk... Caribbean eating and drinking... is at the heart and soul of island culture.
Our food is inspired by laid back beach shacks and street vendors of the Caribbean. From fragrant jerk marinades, to slowly simmered curries there’s something for everyone. It’s not just about spice either, for us it’s all about FLAVOUR – we spend months crafting each dish until it tastes just right. And just like a beach shack in the Caribbean, the food is just the beginning. Wash down with a cocktail (or two), sit back and be transported to a world where conversations and reggae beats flow long into the night.
Fantastic food quick to arrive customer service is spot on lovely place to be
Took forever to get the bill food was not all warm some dish cold the dumplings were over cooked and dry
Food was very tasty and fresh, cocktails were lovely and the staff were very attentive and friendly!!
Food was awful, had very little taste and was extremely salty. Out of the six people eating, only one person was happy with their meal (Curry Goat). The waitress was extremely touchy feely and made us feel uncomfortable.
Whole meal was really nice however the rum and raisin bread pudding came out cold whereas the last time I had it, it was warm so it ruined the meal.
Very enjoyable atmosphere and service
After visiting a Turtlebay in Bristol i had been looking forward to experiancing the Peterborough restaurant. Sadly, It wasn't an pleasant experience. The service was shocking after being seated we waited at least twenty minutes to get served, failing everytime to get the waitress attention. Customers had been seated after we arrived and were served first. When asking if we could order drinks the response was far from polite and verging on a sulky teenager. I have to say that the food was lovely, but unfortunately we were disappointed with the service. Therefore not a place we will be returning to. My husband is from the Caribbean and grew up on the food so how disappointing. Definitely recommend some customer service training as it is all about the experience not just the food.
Fab cocktails, incredible sharing starter and so yummy main course. Won’t hesitate to go back!
Great restaurant for family night out, great service and so nice to have a different and varied menu
Service was average at best, after a table has been reserved you don’t expect the staff Greeting you to look at a collegue and say help as they don’t know where to seat you, not enough cutlery on the table for all guests, yet had a service charge added when 4 were children, very disappointed and would rather drive to Milton Keynes in future.
First time to Turtle bay, downloaded the app, manager helped me with this and he took our drinks order and got them brought over to the table. Absolutely fantastic service thankyou!
Atmosphere was really nice and cocktails were very good especially rude bwoy... Starter: had the Pattie.. in my experience of eating pYyies in my childhood and adults days you cannot beat crisp, flaky patties, but the one I received was soft and very moist far from how the Caribbean patties should be.. maybe the chef should cook the patties in the oven to gain the texture of patties should really be instead of warming them in the microwave... Dinner: goat meat and rice with provisions 1 sliced plantain and 2 rock hard dumplings... hmmm..as a Caribbean girl myself maybe a slice of macaroni pie would of been more ideal than the dumplings... Curry goat was very salty..not good for my high blood pressure so I could not enjoy my dish. Would I go again.. yes but not in a hurry.. .
Amazing food and cocktails. Efficient service. Only negative so noisy but I guess that's the reason why.....it's lively :)
Great food and lovely cocktails and very hard working bar staff.
Me & my husband had our second visit here on 24/03/18 brilliant service , food & atmosphere. We'll definitely be back love this place.
Thank you for a fantastic night. It was great to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday with our friends enjoying great food and drink especially the cocktails.
Amazing cocktail selections and friendly staffs
Lovely food, awesome drinks, music :) Unfortunatelly really slow service... Lots of stuff in but noone seems to care to bring tapwater to our table, also waiting for drinks forever...
Great service, great food, marvellous cocktails
Had a table booked for Saturday 10th for my birthday drinks with a few of the girls. Was seated to the table and not really told how it worked. I asked the guy if we ordered at the bar and he said no and that someone would come to us to take the order. We were seated by many other tables of couples or groups eating. Many members of staff walked by and I appreciate it was busy but not one person asked if everything was ok or if anyone hadn’t taken our drinks orders. As you can imagine on a busy Saturday evening the bar was packed. So I took it upon myself to decide between the girls who wanted what and me and one of them would go join the crowd at the bar. We managed to stop one guy and he told us that we could order but there would be a charge and basically if we either had to queue or pay for the extra charge, we later found out this was 10% of the bill which seems pretty steep. Anyway a couple of the girls ordered desserts and a couple of us headed to the bar. The guy was quite rude and asked the girls for the money upfront for the dessert which seemed a little odd but went along with it. Around 20-30 mins later we joined them back at the table with the drinks. During this time, we were squished at the bar with people pushing and a group of very drunk girls to our left. One girl knocked someone’s drink over and didn’t even apologise or offer to buy them another. They then decided to huddle round us, making us feel really anxious that the 8 drinks we had just ordered would also get knocked too. Once seated back at our table was all fine but a lot of unnecessary stress. It was my birthday after all and should have been an enjoyable evening. Pretty disappointed to say the least.
It is the 5th time we have eaten at TB Peterborough and as always the food was delicious. The cocktails were good too. The bill is very reasonable and we always enjoy the music and ambiance. The service wasn't quite what is usually is but maybe because it was mothers day and very busy. It wasn't bad but not as good as it has been the other times we have been - and we can't wait to eat there again. It is quite a drive but worth it.
Chicken breast curry dish would be more value for as a whole piece as what arrives in dish is pieces that when push together does NOT amount to a whole breast piece but flavours dished up are great. Though it didn't spoil my mother's day treat to my mum a reminder that the clumped slightly burnt part of rice from bottom of pot should not be served up to the customer. This is the 2nd time I've experienced this
Great food and a good surprise for mother's day!
Service was slow - understand it was a Saturday evening however would have been better customer service to advise of delays to meet customer expectation. Waitresses were very good though - not their fault kitchen busy - did spoil the experience for one of our party who hadn’t been before .
