About Tony Macaroni Omni Centre
An authentic slice of Italy
Our motto is “live to eat” — and after a visit to Tony Macaroni, it will be yours too!
Fast friendly service. Great food. Affordable. First visit, but not the last.
Very quick service, staff very friendly, would definitely come back.
We have eaten here before and enjoyed the experience so decided to return. The food and service were good but I had lasagna which was not heated through properly and spoilt the meal for me this time.
Great service, so quick and fantastic staff too.
Excellent pizzas. Friendly staff. Far better in quality and value than many other well known pizza/Italian restaurant chains.
Lovely restaurant, friendly and attentive staff, tasty food and really good choices on menu
First of all ordered starter and main and was told to get both together as they were busy. Had food and sat for an hour and no one came over. It was like we were invisible.
Restaurant was too busy which meant we waited about 20 minutes before our food order was taken and an hour and ten minutes before our main course arrived. This meant we had to leave (for a show) without finishing. Nobody checked on us during the meal. Food was nice, but clearly understaffed and kitchen above capacity.
Enjoyed our meal but service was slow but it was really busy due to festival.
The service we received on Saturday was totally rubbish, my husband ordered mussels for his starter. My daughter ordered calamari and myself and my daughters friend ordered a garlic pizza bread with cheese. 20 minutes later we were told that they had no mussels. And my daughters calamari was over cooked and rubbery, and we were given a cheese pizza instead of garlic pizza bread.
Service was terrible. Very slow. We had a table booked for 5pm and food was served to us at 5.55pm! Trying to get the bill took ages, we stood at our table for 10 mins ready to leave, before someone came with the bill!
The food was excellent BUT unfortunately the service was very slow. I understand that it was very busy but we waited nearly an hour for our starter and then over 30 min for our main course. Which I felt I was having to throw down my throat as we had a show to see at 8pm. Our table was booked for 6pm!
We waited 30 mins for our order to be taken and asked for water each as well as wine. Got the wine but asked the waiter for the water 4 times over course of evening and only just got it as we were leaving (had starters and mains). Service was terrible - slow and didn’t even get any cutlery with main course. Had to get someone’s attention to get some brought to us. Lots of people complaining around us. We won’t be back in a hurry...
Absolute shambles, took 20 minutes to get our drinks, some people got their meals before they got their drinks and everyone was complaining about the abysmal service. The staff were actually running about but the manger continued to allow customers in despite not having the staff to provide any kind of basic standard of customer service. The chef was throwing food about behind the counter and everyone was shouting at each other
Service was utterly terribly and totally disappointing! Restaurant was hugely understaffed and staff were rushing around like headless chickens barely paying attention to customers. I appreciate Saturday nights are busy but this should be anticipated and the restaurant staffed accordingly. We received our main courses before our drinks order despite the drinks order being taken significantly before our food order. After the food we were then ignored and were sat with our plates for a significant amount of time! We tried for about 15 minutes to attract staff attention in order to get the bill. When the gentleman took our card payment, there was no thank you which is simply bad manners! The restaurant has the potential to be very good but the staff are letting it down enormously! Good manners costs nothing!
It was a busy Saturday night as expected during Edinburgh festival and though the staff were rushed off their feet there obviously wasn’t enough staff employed. We were advised to have our starters along with mains as they were so busy???? We waited an hour before getting food. Had trouble trying to catch someone’s eye to get the bill then as we were paying with cash we ended up handing it to a waiter on way out as no one seemed to want to take it. Don’t think we’ll be back!
Waited 40 mins for our deserts gave up and cancelled them
Poor service and pizzas arrived cold!
Food was to a high standard. However the restaurant was noisy and this may have been to do with the loud background music that meant individuals felt the need to talk louder than the background music. But overall a pleasant experience.
Lovely food, excellent service, highly recommended, will definitely be back
After eating at this establishment my partner and I were both ill with diarrhoea and vomiting. Will never go back
Very disappointing visit to Tony Macaroni in the Omni Centre on 28th July. We arrived for our reservation at 6.45pm with our two children in tow. The restaurant was very busy with only one waiter having to attend to a large area. We were given our menus and waited around 10-15mins for our drinks order to be taken, we ordered our food at this point as well. After a 45 minute wait we asked the server about our meals which had not yet arrived, to be told a large table had been served in front of us and ours would be along soon. A further 15-20 minutes, the children's pizza's had not yet arrived and a waiter produced two mains for the adults. He looked perplexed when we told him we had not been given our starters yet... A further 20 minute wait and finally we received our starters and the kids pizzas. By this point the children were so tired and fed up of sitting waiting they could barely eat their meal. An hour and 45 minutes after placing our order we were finally served our main courses. The children's dessert which was part of their meal was not given. Despite the lengthy wait the bill was presented to us in full - I felt this was unacceptable given we didn't even receive our meal in full! After some bartering our drinks were knocked off but I feel that - other than our waiter who could not have been more apologetic - there was no real acceptance of responsibility. We watched other tables come and go swiftly during our visit. A wholly chaotic experience and for this reason, I would not return.
Had a show at 13:30. Seated at 12 but order not taken till 12:20 then food didn’t arrive until 50 minutes later even though a table seated at the same time had finished and paid before we got ours. Chicken was undercooked and had to be returned with no time before the show to re-Cook. Not enough staff on considering the Playhouse had big shows on that day and would be filled with kids. Kids chicken and chips over-cooked with greasy chips.
Service was slow, waited half an hour on drinks
