About Tom Morris Bar & Grill
Located within the heart of the Links Clubhouse celebrating the life and influence of the Grand Old Man of golf overlooking the courses he helped to shape, The Tom Morris Bar & Grill is a Scottish produce driven casual dining restaurant with a real sense of history and authenticity.
Been 3 times food is consistently good ,The place has been refurbished since lock down . Very smart decor good atmosphere great staff what is not to like about this place. Great views of the old course . Looking forward to visiting again soon Tom Ponton. Kinghorn
Great service. Food doesn’t quite match it yet.
Lovely to be back. Great reworking of the seating area. Good choice on the menu. Friendly staff. Smooth booking system.
Considering the coronavirus restrictions, the team did a great job making us feel comfortable and welcome.
I like to see change of menu different each week, reduce the profit margin to reasonable percentage. Cullen skink was excellent but only4 small pieces of smoked haddock! Probably Chief budget is very tight.
Food and service was very good only criticism is both our steaks were just slightly under what we would normally have, this may just be the way they are cooked here compared with other places I’ve eaten. Will be back some other time
Service first class
Service was excellent Quality of surroundings and makeover great Disappointed with quality and small portion size which made for poor value
- Difficulty in communication with the welcome desk - masks didn't help - The fish soup had two large sharp bones within it. - The staff were very attentive
It was my first visit to the bar & grill and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. They were really friendly and helpful. The restaurant was pretty quiet for a Saturday evening but I’m sure it’ll get busier as restrictions lift. We ordered Cullen skink & a mozzarella salad for starters - both were really nice. It was a little disappointing there were no mocktails on the menu as alcohol cannot be served just now. For our mains we ordered steaks and, unfortunately, they were both a bit overcooked. They did taste great & the sauces and sides were lovely, just overdone for our order for rare/ medium-rare. However, it’s a lovely restaurant and I’d definitely recommend a visit.
Possibly consider option of smaller portions, which are often attractive for the elderly. I had Cullen skink and the Tom Morris Burger which was excellent but large, and therefore no room for any of the desserts, which looked good.
Due to Covid restaurant was empty so not much atmosphere.
Ok breakfast but missing items and haggis and black pudding slightly stogy .The missing item was quickly added but by then the food was slightly cold.Would still go back but not order the breakfast just go for a roll.
Excellent food and service. Stunning restaurant with fantastic interior. Views are the best in the world.
Presentation of food and service was excellent. Background music may further add to the ambience.
Lovely atmosphere and very nice interior! Great food and lovely service too!!
Excellent in every way. Lovely service from everyone. Safe environment. Love the renovations too.
All staff were polite and were smartly dressed, service was quick, although it was later on a Sunday afternoon we were there and it was quiet. Disappointed that they had run out of the Sunday roast and Tom Morris pie, and not sure about the roasted shallot with the skin still on!! I ordered steak done rare and it came slightly under cooked than that, but that's the way i like it.. Roast chicken was tasty as it's done on the grill. Would definitely go back.
Lovely decor, very attentive staff and delicious food. I would highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch yesterday, I wouldn’t say our table was socially distanced and there was people sitting at the table next to us. The food was lovely, couldn’t fault it but choices are not the same as your previous menu which I preferred but would certainly return.
We have eaten here a few times since the first relaxation of covid restrictions and are always very happy with the attention paid to safety. The new menu this time was great, some new dishes that were delicious but the old favourites still there as well. The only downside would be that it can be a bit chilly if you are sitting near the windows. We knew that this was a possibility and brought plenty of layers but there might be something that could be done to make sure there was plenty of air flow without leaving the window seats so chilly. We'd rather have our coats on with dinner than feel the restaurant were not taking safety seriously though which we have felt in another place.
We looked after by the team. Lovely food and surroundings
My online reservation didn’t confirm. Excellent service from Allet when I popped in to check booking. Decor beautiful, relaxed sophistication with great views of golf course. Service very good. We were disappointed no Sunday roast left at 5pm. Would definitely return. Had lunch on the Friday, Cullen Skink delicious.
Lovely meal after a great game of golf. Excellent staff
Excellent refurbishment & more informal feel - which is much better
