About The Lime Kiln
Gastropub. Imaginative menu serving high quality fresh local produce in a wonderful family friendly environment.
Sweet and sticky ribs......oh my...amazing...
Food was really tasty and well presented. Service was good, big improvement on the last time we visited, definitely will be back
Lovely food, very accommodating and friendly staff.
Had a fantastic night out and the food and staff was A1. Definately recommend for a night out or party.
Food was Delicious!!!
From the moment we walked in the door the staff were amazing, we had our 10 week old baby with us and were praying to god that he would not cry the house down, he did, but the staff could not be more sympathetic and helpful in that situation. Food was great also. Highly recommend this place.
Food is fantastic, service always seems below par. Waitresses seem almost disinterested at times and are aloof. Spent 5 minutes trying to get attention to order a salad while we were eating our mains. Then when we asked for the bill as our baby was needing to feed our waitress disappeared for 10 minutes. I had to eventually go request the bill at the reception, no apology just a here you go. No thanks for the tip either. From now on I will just stop tipping when paying for the bill.
This was our second time to dine in the Lime Kiln which we found by accident the first time and were we glad we did. We were with friends in Ardee for the weekend and they drove up on our recommendation to join us as we dined there on our home journey to Dublin they were also very impressed with restaurant and will be back highly recommended
Interesting menu and would like to go back and try some other dishes. I had the burger with cheese and at €16 I feel a bit robbed for what I got
Had meal yesterday at around 4:15. The girl at the reception desk was very good to get us a table as we arrived late for our original booking at 3:30. It took a while for us to be even given menus and then our order taken. Wings for starters were very nice. Kids pizza seemed underdone and pepperoni on top wasn't really cooked and there was a lot of liquid on the pizza. My requested medium steak was probably medium rare. It was not cooked well on the outside and I suspect the temperature in the kiln was not hot enough to sear/char it properly. Possibly the same reason for the pizza. The restaurant had run out of potato gratin but that was fine and the replacement chips were nice. My son could not finish the burger as the taste of smoke in it was overpowering. We asked for dessert menus but they never arrived after a wait of 10 minutes so we just got a coffee to go and paid the bill. We had three or four different servers so was never sure who was attending our table. Overall the food wasn't bad but I suspect the numbers of people attending on a Sunday impact the quality of food cooking and service to the tables. We were also charged €1 for a pint of cordial even though we only had a small kids portion in a coffee cup. We did get provided with a colouring book and crayons upon request which was a nice touch. Overall experience was ok - just think it could be a whole lot better with a bit more organization.
We were glad we had booked a table on line the night before as the restaurant was very busy. The staff dealt really well with their workload and were friendly and courteous. We enjoyed our meal very much.
Great food Great service.....😀
Great friendly staff
Our favourite place for dining out. Tried it for brunch and it was amazing and can't wait to go back. Service second to none.
Great food ... great service and a warm welcoming atmosphere
Food was delicious.
Fantastic restaurant 😁
Lovely meal and service was good.
Fantastic meal, food was exquisite. Service was polite and friendly but a touch slow although I’ve marked that down to the Christmas rush yesterday.
We had an excellent meal with very quick service and will most definitely return in the future.
We were really impressed. Great menu. Delicious food, a great atmosphere and our waitress was lovely. We definitely be up there more regularly!
Usually enjoy my visits to the limekiln and have found the service and food to have improved hugely since you first opened. However, I was there this Wednesday evening with my daughters as a treat and was a little disappointed. My girls both ordered chicken wings and I had the crab pasta dish. One of my daughters chicken wings was cold by the time she was halfway through eating them and my pasta was the same. (We were not eating slowly...)The other portion of chicken wings were fine. When the waitress asked us how our meal was, I mentioned it to her. She seemed quite nonplussed and we barely received an apology...perhaps the heat lamp was broken I suggested to which she agreed and that was that. Very disappointing reaction to the situation. I still left a tip but felt it could have been handled better.
Always an excellent experience and always looking forward to our next visit!
The Limekiln is an excellent spot for really good food in a warm and cosy environment. Can't recommend highly enough.
