About The Willow Tea Rooms
Inspired by the works of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the Willow Tea Rooms at 97 Buchanan Street is the place to go when out and about in the city centre.
The Tea Rooms are modelled on Kate Cranston’s Ingram Street Tea Rooms from the early 1900s recreating the fabulous interiors from the White Dining Room and the Chinese (Blue) Room.
Very relaxed atmosphere.. great service. nice friendly helpful staff and good quality food
Excellent all round
Hadn't visited before but would certainly come back, very impressed with the staff and the food was lovely.
Lovely afternoon tea very friendly service definitely recommend.
Very busy tearooms. The service was not the best we ordered afternoon tea and was very disappointed with the quality and quantity of what was given. We had to look for a member of staff to ask about a mistake in our order, no one came and asked if everything was OK or if we needed anything else and then we had to find someone again to pay our bill. Had been so looking forward to going there but what a let down.
Good choice on the menu. Food was delicious. Waitress was really nice, friendly, polite and helpful.
Had a lovely lunch with tea and cake to follow. Would definitely recommend.
Great service, lovely food and a great atmosphere. Very accommodating with some of our party's requests. Fantastic value for money.
The staff where lovely, professional and so helpful. So helpful as I proposed to my partner here!
One issue we had was that the vegetarian food was put on the cake stand along with the meat sandwiches
It was our 1st time having afternoon tea and was not sure what to expect. Found it very crowded and very, very noisy because of one particular party. Will give it another try but maybe not at the weekend.
Perfect 'chilling' afternoon in beautiful surroundings...
Apart from the climb to the tearoom was a great experience and lovely cream tea! Fab selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes for our parents. Only drawback was the poor accessibility and that not being made clear on the vouchers. My brother who bought the vouchers as a gift was extremely upset by that as our father really struggled with the 24 stairs needed to climb before getting to the actual tearoom. (Not to mention having to get him back down). Added stress to what otherwise would have been the perfect gift for my elderly parents while their son was home visiting from Oz. On a positive note the Staff were very friendly and helpful. Parents particularly enjoyed having choice of cake for top tier and their meringues were huge!! I doubt we will be able to bring them back but if the tearoom was more accessible for those who struggle to walk they themselves would definitely want to visit again. Feel that’s a shame
Lovely light lunch with excellent service
Waitress very friendly, enjoyed food and reasonably priced.
Staff was so helpful and friendly.
Quick service . Good atmosphere. Great tea and coffee . Friendly staff
Disappointing to not be able to offer a vegetarian savoury afternoon tea at this day and age and also (I appreciate there was a queue) but once we had finished eating our plates were whisked away and the bill was on the table literally (and I mean literally) within 10 seconds at the same time as the card machine. Being rushed out the door when we still had drinks etc. certainly left a sour note to my experience.
Great staff. Yummy cakes.
Get the meringue- it will make you giggle like a kid. Scones and clotted cream are not to be missed either.
Your staff were great, considering I turned up with a voucher that was for the other Macintosh tearooms. In particular Mirren was lovely and gave us great table service.
Me and my husband had a lovely lunch on Sunday the 1st of March. It was a good end to our weekend away for our 12th anniversary on the 29th of February.
A great lunch, been before and will visit again
Great afternoon tea - we visit the tea rooms regularly and they have never disappointed. Would highly recommend.
Love coming here when visiting Glasgow. Lovely good, lovely staff. Always busy! Booking is a must. Never disappointed when I come here
