About The White Horse Inn, Sutton
The White Horse inn is a modern British pub in an 18th century setting.
Situated in the centre of the village of Sutton, in the lee of the South Downs and in the heart of the South Downs national park, it is welcoming and relaxing.
We are a free house serving local cask ales, beers and wines together with locally sourced, high quality, traditional British pub food with a contemporary accent.
Acquired by the current owners in September 2017, the pub has been skilfully refurbished to 21st century standards by local craftsmen.
Our beautiful en-suite rooms provide all modern amenities and comfort in a traditional, country setting.
Please join us to drink, eat, stay; you’ll be certain of a warm welcome.
Absolutely fabulous lunch, the best pub food we’ve ever had!
The food was very well cooked and well presented. However, one of our party was a vegetarian and the choice for vegetarians was poor, in fact there was no choice of main or starter, just one option in each category.
Lovely lunch, tasty food, especially the home made tomato ketchup, that was a surprise. Billy and the staff very welcoming, it's a joy to have our village pub back.
We have been waiting for 18 months to have our local pub back and what an amazing transformation. I’m torn between wanting to tell everyone how great it is and keeping it all to ourselves!! Thank you Billy and your team we look forward to being very regular regulars.
Wonderful afternoon enjoying a delicious roast and fabulous service. Thank you all
Very pleasant first experience of the rejuvenated White Horse. Not giving 5-star ratings yet because to do so might undermine incentive to aspire to even higher and sustained levels of customer satisfaction! But certainly very happy with first impressions and looking forward to next visit soon!
Wonderful pub how lucky we are to have it in our village, long awaited but well worth the wait.
Wonderful food. Great renovation. Service good, but just a bit slow.
A tastefully done refurbishment keeps the atmosphere of the traditional country pub. Super friendly staff as well as delicious food and nice wine - we will be back!
A very nice meal. We both had scallops to start (well cooked, looked stunning, good flavour, tricky to eat on the rocks). Lamb main (excellent rump, very good shepherds pie - also, excellently plated in the charred onions) Venison- my wife really enjoyed it, no in depth review Sprouts and black pudding (super, but I love black pudding) Bread and butter pudding (referred to as the best B&B pudding she has ever had. 10/10) Good beer choice, well chosen!
All seven of us had a delightful afternoon, friendly efficient service, first class food and great atmosphere. Looking forward to our next visit.
What a great opening! Even with a major till system failure on the day the service was seamless, food delicious, and atmosphere warm and welcoming. We’ve already re-booked!
Billy and team always look after us and the food was 1st class - we will return Best wishes Craig
Excellent Sunday roast and terrific wine list! Service is warm and friendly as well as professional - especially on Day 1! We loved it!!
