About The White Horse Inn, Sutton
The White Horse inn is a modern British pub in an 18th century setting.
Situated in the centre of the village of Sutton, in the lee of the South Downs and in the heart of the South Downs national park, it is welcoming and relaxing.
We are a free house serving local cask ales, beers and wines together with locally sourced, high quality, traditional British pub food with a contemporary accent.
Acquired by the current owners in September 2017, the pub has been skilfully refurbished to 21st century standards by local craftsmen.
Our beautiful en-suite rooms provide all modern amenities and comfort in a traditional, country setting.
Please join us to drink, eat, stay; you’ll be certain of a warm welcome.
We had a fantastic meal in this beautiful pub. The steak was really good quality with delightful accompaniments and the deserts matched these high standards too. I’d highly recommend to anyone!
Lovely find in the Downs
All 6 of us enjoyed the new menu, careful precise cooking, great flavours. A very enjoyable evening.
Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit. .A great evening, excellent service and the food was delicious. Will definitely be back.
I left feedback on Tripadvisor last week after my visit on Sunday7th April, and as promised came back! I will definitely be back again and have already recommended The White Horse to friends. At the moment you are my favourite pub in the area and are likely to remain so!
Excellent food enjoyed by all 4 of us. Strongly recommend the pie. Good wine list not overpriced. Waitress was friiendly and extremlh efficient. Did not like 10% service charge automatically adddd to bill including drinks at Bar
First time we have visited this refurbished pub/restaurant. The building has been refurbished to a very high standard and the ambience is of a high quality location. All the staff were friendly and polite. Food was served in a very well presented way - all the meals were enjoyable. One minor observation was the roast beef had a large chunk of gristle that reduced the quantity and enjoyment. Other than that we had a great time and would like to visit again.
Super service, great food! What more could you ask for.
Food is amazing, best in the area and I have eaten everywhere worth eating. Staff friendly. Decor lovely, but it was quiet so hard to give 5 star for atmosphere. The wine (we had a bottle of Cote De Rhône) was smooth/perfect.
Our first experience of The White Horse and we were impressed with the all round attention to detail, quality of food and friendly service. Thank you !
We were all delighted with our choices, but my ‘pork pie’ dish was superb. And the rhubarb soufflé sublime. Service from all staff excellent. It would be great if there was a vegetarian choice too. We are loving Tuesday Club. Thank you.
Excellent service, unobtrusive staff, wonderful food! Worth the trip. Thank you
Excellent Mother's day lunch and the complementary drinks and gifts were a nice touch. Carol & John
Thank you for a lovely Mother's Day lunch at the White Horse, also for the prosecco and gift. We all had rare roast beef followed by delicious puddings.
The White Horse has benefited from a high quality refurbishment but retains the feel of a country pub. The food and drink are at the upper end of what you would expect to pay at a similar type of establishment, but everything is high quality. The staff are discrete and smartly dressed. Highly recommended.
Good ‘Gastro-Pub food with a twist. Good lunchtime portions. A little more expensive than some places but the quality and presentation was very good. Homemade pie was excellent. A good break on our cycle - we’ll go back.
First visit was for Sunday luncheon and now really looking forward to trying full menu. N&N
Yet again we had a superb overnight stay with Emma & Billy looking after us. Made very welcome and with the food being spot on, not forgetting Patrick who always makes a point of chatting to us. We have booked to go again as you can never have to much of a good thing. Regards Carol & John
Fine restoration of this country inn, set in delightful downland and offering an above average dining experience. It deserves to do well.
The guy who is front of house (with the beard) is fantastic. Brilliant service - amazing food! Simply superb.
Love sitting in the bar area by the fire!
Fantastic beautiful bedrooms and amazing food
A special mention for the gentlemen behind the bar who was a delight to talk to and made us feel extremely welcome.
Great place in the middle of West Sussex
Tuesday Supper Club such a great idea. The House Burger was perfect, the rhubarb soufflé sublime and the service perfect. Thank you.
