About The White Horse Brasserie
Situated at the heart of the historic market town of Romsey, The White Horse Hotel has been a coaching Inn for over 600 years. We offer all that you would expect from a casual drink, or maybe dinner in our restaurant or stay over with Bed and Breakfast, whatever you requirements we will be pleased to help.
Following three years of restoration work the hotel reopened in 2008 and now offers guests 31 individually designed bedrooms and suites with 24 hour room service, an award winning brasserie and the perfect place to host private events.
Afternoon Tea is served daily, at two sittings: 12.00 & 15.30
Thanks for an excellent evening as always. You are our go-to place for dinner as the care with my wife's allergies is the best we have experienced.
lovely meal and great staff. it was a pleasure to visit and thank you for a lovely evening. we have been eating here for some years and it has never disappointed. Staff are a great asset.
Food has elevated to a higher standard since my last visit.
Lovely place and music. Staff very nice but a bit formal and slow. Food rather expensive.
Wonderful food beautifully prepared. Imaginative taste combinations using locally sourced ingredients make for a very enjoyable evening. Staff very attentive and friendly.
Excellent service and quality of food
A great venue and afternoon tea for my friend’s hen, thank you for such a lovely time!
The best afternoon tea! The choice of two menus make it unique. Really good value for money. Good service and nothing was too much trouble for the very helpful staff. I will recommend it to everyone. Much, much better than Lainston House!!
We enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent, but we were frustrated that we forget to use the ten pound voucher off the cost of the meal.
Absolutely delicious meal, could not fault the food, ambiance or service in any way. Can't wait to come back. Well done to the whole team.
An excellent and delicious Afternoon Tea. Staff were delightful and could not do enough for us. I’d certainly recommend the White Horse for a lovely treat.
Our second visit and as good as the first
Beautiful old coaching Inn with stacks of character and original features. Lovely quiet atmosphere in comfortable surroundings. Watch out for the 10% service charge that is added to the bill without prior notice!
We were annoyed. We checked in at the desk in the restaurant and were told that the menus would be brought to us in the bar. They were not. Eventually we returned to the restaurant and were shown our table but were then left for a while after placing our orders before starters arrived. There seems to be an attitude that people in the bar are forgotten. This has happened before and is not good enough for a restaurant of this calibre.
There were two tables occupied whilst we were there for lunch yet the service was very slow which spoiled the occasion.
Not sure I like the service charge automatically being added on. This never used to be the case. I always leave a tip but like to have the option of how much I give. This is the only negative I have. Everything else was very nice.
We had originally booked for afternoon tea but the majority of our party decided they wanted a late lunch instead. Thus was organised with absolute no problems whatsoever. Food and service both wonderful.
First class service at the table unfortunately the toilets were out of action in the area we were seated so my wife had to try and walk outside which was not easy as she is restricted on walking.we decided to purchase a voucher for our son so all was not too bad.
Really great service, great wine list. Shame that our choice of vintage wine was limited to the only 2 bottles in the cellar. Food was good but surpassed and relegated by the choice of wine.
Excellent service, good quality food and wine,Fillet steak a bit pricey at just shy of £40, but nice !!
Excellent with regard to the quality of the food, presentation and service, but our a la carte dishes were small and expensive. There was some compensation in the addition of a tasty but delicate hors-d'oeuvre. If a more limited range of dishes is acceptable, the table d'hote menu looks to be much better value, though.
Fantastic food and lovely staff who made the dining experience a real pleasure from start to finish.
As usual we had an amazing time. Compliments to all!
Excellent food ...beautifully served by a lovely waitress called Chelsea - she subtly attended to our every need. Very pleasant and relaxing surroundings - tasteful quiet music playing in the background creating a lovely atmosphere in this well appointed brasserie.
