About The White Hart Uttoxeter
All new white hart hotel, restaurant, bar & speciality coffee lounge.
Always have great food and service. Your kebabs have been fabulous. 👍👏
Fantastic night! Food was lovely and prices are really reasonable!
At first glance of the menu we were disappointed to just see skewers however now we’ve had them (twice) we loved them. Beautifully cooked meat, succulent and tender. Staff were excellent and really friendly. Service was great. Although we wouldn’t return to the hotel to stay, we’d definitely return to eat.
Staff were amazing, hotel is lovely, the bed was super comfortable and the food was perfect!
Lovely food, very reasonably priced in a beautifully decorated establishment. All Staff are very friendly and hard-working. We have been several times now and have enjoyed the meals every time.
Great skewers and good choice of side dishes, very good value.
We stayed the night in a room booked by booking.com and although it was lovely and good for money it wasn’t what the pictures portrayed. The room was modern with no noise and comfortable, the 4 poster bed I’m guessing is in a higher priced room our room was basic, a few cushions and artwork can go a long way. The bar and restaurant area had a fab feel I loved it. The food was mediocre as it’s just skewer I think a few good ones would be better then a whole range of ok ones, you have to order at the bar even if you book a table so be warned. Our hotel room was ok on first sight it was hot and they provided an fan which was very much welcome.. our cupboard door on the bathroom sink was hanging off and hadn’t been fixed, it was generally clean but once the bathroom door was closed there was lumps of dirt and toilet paper that was missed behind the door. Generally speaking we had a good night but some issue that need to be attended too.
Great room, great location for Alton towers, really comfy large bed, clean and tidy. However, welcome to the hotel was odd and if anything unwelcoming. The man which greeted us asked if we were staying, we said yes he said we needed to pay, handed us the keys and said the rooms are that way, pointing. We are currently on a UK tour and this is the strangest welcome we have received, we have stayed in 7 other hotels and each place has asked where we have been / if we have had a nice day etc, and given information about the hotel. Most places have given suggestions about places to eat or visit too. This one was very cold. When we left a lady was sat on reception, she was talking to another member of staff and we placed the keys on the desk and she didn’t even look up to speak to us. A simple I hope you had a nice stay or asking how our stay was would have been nice!! We waited a few seconds but she didn’t even look at us. Again, strange exit. Really let the experience down. It’s a shame because the room was lovely! Except for the tv not working, it was faultless.
Really nice hotel, brilliant food!
Rating this hotel was really difficult. I try not to be influenced by other negative reviews and I am very easy going, so reading all the reviews about noise late into the night I took with a pinch of salt. This isn't something that particularly bothers me - usually! The room was lovely, the food in the restaurant was great, the staff were very polite and the Saturday night stay for £60 was reasonable. However, I read so many reviews about people unable to sleep and upset with the noise from the restaurant, with the management responding on here that its a late night bar so there is noise to be expected, and stating this is on the website so excusing it. I like to think I'm reasonable with noise as this happens and a relatively young individual who enjoys a drink and night out and as it was my partners birthday we knew we would've been up relatively late (even though had Alton Towers in the morning) however at around 1230 or 1am we were awoken abruptly all of a sudden by a huge group of people outside our window (room 10/11 area) screaming and yelling and laughing this got larger and larger as the early hours went on - and lasted until about 3am which is totally unacceptable, you're a bar/restaurant and hotel not a nightclub in London - they should've been moved on not left to get drunker outside your guests windows and by our cars! No social distancing, no control, no management - just left outside in a massive groups drinking and rowdy, screaming, shouting, breaking glasses - god forbid someone was staying with kids in the hotel, or up earlier than us. I appreciate the location is busy with a lot of bars, and this suits me within reason, but as a hotel you shouldn't allow people to go out into the car park/seating area outside after a certain time - especially as the rooms are single glazed and overlook this area! Either move them on, or keep them inside! We had the windows closed (even though it was baking hot that evening in the room) but still couldn't sleep it was so loud and didn't stop the sound - it was like a nightclub had been let out and no bouncers to move the drunken crowd on. I took a photo of a few of the groups attached, but couldn't get them all in as they spread up into the car park (also not very comforting with all guests cars there surround by drunken people). I appreciate its a late night bar and kept this in mind and to be fair I wasn't awoken by music or noise inside, but it was all those allowed to gather and drink outside in the early hours, this is unacceptable and could've been prevented. In the morning, there was no-one to complain to about this, just a cleaner who asked us to leave the keys on the desk. It's such a shame the noise issue and no control of restaurant and bar guests was a genuine issue - I wish I had believed reviews but I thought with COVID and limits of groups/social distancing the establishment would've controlled this better - but you didn't. Very disappointing.
No one was social distancing, couldn’t see any hand sanitiser or any staff using any, when we arrived the person who attended to us didn’t have a pen so he said don’t worry about filling it in!! no details were taken from us, no one advised that we had to order from the bar so we sat there for 30 mins without a clue as it did not say it on the menu. When I asked a lady she replied abruptly like I was interrupting her. The food was good - everyone was so busy it just seemed a little chaotic. There were 2 young children clearing tables which was nice to see but you literally could not finish before they were taking your drink away.
Extremely disappointed to arrive and find out that there was a drastically reduced menu only comprising of skewers which we did not want, having visited many times before and always thoroughly enjoyed our meals and service. We were also told that ordering was done at the bar which is obviously another change we were disappointed with. Therefore we left and went somewhere else. Such a shame as we have always regarded the White Hart as one of our favourite places but we will not be visiting again until the full menu and usual service has resumed.
Great food and drink on the new menu BUT no table service and having to go to the Bar to order food isnt what I expected of this superb venue. If I go out for a meal I dont expect/want to stand in a queue with a bit of paper with my tables orders on.We didnt have any additional drinks because of this reason so its costing them lost revenue. Food was brilliant
There was no signs of staff following the government guidelines that should be in place. No track and trace, no masks or visors worn by staff. I was surprised we were encouraged to wonder round and mingle at the bar in order to get our drinks and order our food. Most places I have been to you have waiter/waitress service to avoid this. Also I was freezing for the entire evening as I was seated with my back to the open door. Foolishly I didn't complain and in hindsight I should have done. On a positive note my food was very tasty (chilli & lime skewer) although it went cold rather quickly due to the cold draft coming from the door! I'm not usually one to have a moan but in the current climate I think people need to feel safe and comfortable when they are out or they will not return.
We came to visit up North this week and was recommended to go to The White Hart Hotel by a staff member at our lodge. We are SO thankful that they did because the decor wa beautiful, parking available behind the hotel, there were clear instructions re covid directions, there was super fast service and THE FOOD!! My Lord the food was BEAUTIFUL AND DELICIOUS!!! We didn't know what to expect but my gosh it was so amazing, everything was cooked perfectly and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They were all so smiley and pleasant (shout out to the blonde lady who went to bring us the wrong desert - which we would have gladly taken! - she was so professional, lovely and welcoming). Next time we are visiting the area again we will 100000% be visiting again! We would also recommend ANYONE to visit as it is such amazing value for money!!! Thank you once again! :)
Excellent service friendly staff
We are visiting the area and had our evening meal here. Relaxing atmosphere, food was excellent and the staff very helpful and pleasant. Would reccomend.
First visit to White Hart and thoroughly enjoyed :-)
Food was excellent value
After having lunch here on Monday, I can only describe the experience as extremely disappointing. The service was very slow. It took the lady behind the bar around 10,15minutes to get our drinks, despite us being the only people at the bar! The drinks were then flat which then took another 15 minutes for them to sort. It was also beyond disappointing to find out that there was no children’s menu. Although we were encouraged to order off the main for my 1 year old, £11 for a meal that he wouldn’t each much of seemed ridiculous. With my son in mind, I needed to use the disabled toilet for the nappy changing services so I asked if it could be open. After waiting around 5-10 minutes I was then told the key was lost so couldn’t use it. I therefore had to use the ladies toilet which could only be described as an ice rink it was that slippy! Although the food was to a good standard, it was completely over shadowed by all of the above. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I will not returning and neither would I recommend.
Service was very slow - waited nearly an hour between ordering and getting food. Though it was last day of EOtHO! Food was excellent and good value. Free flow drinks too
Loved the new skewers menu & hope to come again to try some of the other options
The food was delicious and very good value for money! The Halloumi skewers and selection of sides were delicious. I have no complains regarding food and drink! I was surprised however at the lack of policies in place regarding covid. The only policy in place was a entrance and exit one way system but it was way too over crowded inside, with no social distancing measures in place. Most restaurants have table service in place, however we had to join a massive que of people at a very overly busy bar. Nobody was social distancing. This is my main critique about my visit.
