About The White Cross Pub
The White Cross is a peaceful canal side restaurant and real ale pub set in a renovated 150 yrs old cotton mill warehouse. Cosy sofas, farmhouse tables and a more formal restaurant give a choice of areas in which to enjoy our fresh, modern menu. A few minutes from Lancaster city centre and with our own car park we are the ideal lunch or dinner spot when visiting Lancaster.
Great food as always
Myself and my friend enjoyed our visit last week. The staff were attentive, the food was excellent. No problems at all - we will certainly be visiting again very soon!
Lovely food and great service, all delivered at the time requested to all the table as we had a date with Mr Grey.....
As usual another fantastic meal with great service. We were served promptly and staff we polite and friendly. Food was amazing- as it always it. We’ve moved here from Kent and this is our go to eatery when we have friends and family up to visit. Highly recommend the Calamari, cheese garlic bread (it’s a whole loaf!) and the are terrine! Very generous portions. For mains -The venison haunch steak is our favourite- the broccoli and blue geese purée is amazing! Very closely followed by the pork belly. We never have room for dessert! Can’t wait to go back again! Thank you! Kat x
Excellent Christmas meal with staff who couldn't do enough to help you out. So glad we booked a year in advance as it does get busy! Keep up the good work White Cross.
Good food slightly slow service. But overall a pleasant meal in a nice atmosphere
Second time visiting and not disappointed. Beautiful food and cosy atmosphere. Staff are great. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent food and good customer service. Will definitely be returning.
We had booked the White Cross for a colleagues leaving do as we had heard many great things about the food and I have to say on the whole it was amazing. We were well looked after and after the starters and main course the whole group (there was about 20 of us) had said that we would definately look to book work events there again and also go on socials with families as we were so impressed. That being said we were all very disappointed with our desserts. The strawberry and cocunut desserts didn't taste of cocunut, the chocolate pots were half milk chocolate and those that got them found them very runny and the other half had dark chocolate which you could stand the spoon up in as they were too hard to eat. I had cheese and biscuits but found that the cheese still had cling film on and the Eccles cake disintegrated when I tried to pick it up. That being said though, the staff were amazing and couldn't help more by trying to offer drinks or another pudding but we didn't drink much as it was a work night so we took the opportunity to get a soft drink or coffee for those that had been disappointed. We will be back though as it was a great night and we did enjoy ourselves, it was just a shame that the desserts spoilt what was otehrsie a perfect meal.
Brilliant food and service, booked for an evening dinner with my partner, had a very enjoyable time. I have been many times before and would always recommend it.
Great menu, well cooked and presented good, attentive staff, definitely return for another visit.
The fact that dogs are allowed in the bar area was our main reason for choosing The White Cross. We were impressed with the bar area and the range of vegetarian dishes. The food was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely visit again.
