A traditional British inn with 14 individually designed bedrooms, roaring fires in winter, heavenly gardens in summer and delicious pub food all year round.
Our menus are all about great quality, locally sourced, simple rustic food. Wherever possible we use local producers, supporting rare heritage breeds and farmers that care about what they’re doing.
From 8am every day we serve our guests and locals alike French Press coffees and the finest English breakfast.
We’ve worked side by side with UE Coffee, the only artisan wood-fired coffee roastery in the UK, whose Master Roasters combine their talent and experience to bring out the optimum taste, aroma and colour to create The Lucky Onion’s truly unique and sustainable house blend of beans from Brazil, Costa Rica and India. Cherish each sip at The Wheatsheaf or grab and go with your coffee of choice in one of our biodegradable, takeaways cups.

We had a lovely Xmas lunch with great service. My only criticism would be, maybe next year have some more child friendly options on the menu. Otherwise fab!
Fantastic Christmas lunch!! Well done to one and all.
Always lovely- the marquee with heaters as a new addition for covid was a nice new addition.
Great Christmas Eve dinner. Thank you for making it special
Xmas lunch for work colleagues.. the Chicken and Bacon Pie was superb, paired with a nice Xmas setting!
Lovely weekend in the Cotswolds, cozy and welcoming,.
Absolutely fantastic Sunday lunch yet again. The staff on Sunday were absolutely brilliant friendly and nothing was to much trouble. Thank you for a great afternoon see you soon
Consistently good food and one of our favourite restaurants in the Cotswolds, both lovely in the summer and the winter!
Delicious food and friendly team Thank you as always
Lovely environment. Service was a little slow at first, 30 mins after sitting down still no drinks - this is Covid time so some leeway given but there were plenty of staff around. When service did start it was great so no big deal. Main courses were delicious - steak and fish dishes cooked perfectly and oozing flavour. Cheeseboard was a huge disappointment, basic selection and Brie straight from the fridge. Tiramisu apparently delicious. Surprised about the cheeseboard given the quality of the rest of the food and ambience. Would definitely recommend the place though overall.
An idyllic pub in a charming village Would be great in the summer has a huge back garden. Food and service was great albeit a bit pricey for what it was. However we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. On a separate note - they could do with some lights in the car park at the rear as it’s pitch black at night and needed a torch to make our way down!!
It’s always a joy to come to the Wheatsheaf. The food is amazing and staff always extremely friendly. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming.
Spectacular food, service, value for money and playlist. Would love to see more cocktails on the menu in future but no complaints from me. 100% recommend and will be back again.
Excellent Sunday roast and service was 5 start
Amazing service and food

Amazing flat iron steak in an amazing atmosphere
Another great meal with fantastic service. Thanks. Richard & Maureen
Myself and my boyfriend decided to come here for a romantic dinner as we were on a getaway break for a few nights, so wanted to make the most of it. We arrived at 8pm and was greeted by a lady who directed us to our lovely server who showed us a few tables to choose from in a room with 2 tables of 6 which clearly weren't from the same household and unfortunately had no respect for the other diners around them by standing up and going to the other tables freely with no mask or social distancing. A dog was freely roaming around the dinning area and although I'm a massive dog lover, I did think this was a little strange. The food and service was excellent but the experience as a whole was sadly let down by the lack of precautions in place to unsure everyone is comfortable in there surroundings.
Great service and lovely staff, food was absolutely incredible couldn’t fault it.
The food at The Wheatsheaf is consistently excellent and each experience there is a treat
We came here for dinner on Friday night and then came back for breakfast on Monday morning. We were a bit worried before dinner as reviews were not excellent, however, we were surprised to see how good it is. Food was amazing, best we had the whole weekend in Cotswolds, service was good as well and the place was so cozy with a nice fireplace. I had the steak and even though it is really hard to find a good steak in pubs/restaurants that are not steakhouses, this was amazing, really high quality steak. I would definitely come back here when I am in Cotswolds.
