A traditional British inn with 14 individually designed bedrooms, roaring fires in winter, heavenly gardens in summer and delicious pub food all year round.
Our menus are all about great quality, locally sourced, simple rustic food. Wherever possible we use local producers, supporting rare heritage breeds and farmers that care about what they’re doing.
From 8am every day we serve our guests and locals alike French Press coffees and the finest English breakfast.
We’ve worked side by side with UE Coffee, the only artisan wood-fired coffee roastery in the UK, whose Master Roasters combine their talent and experience to bring out the optimum taste, aroma and colour to create The Lucky Onion’s truly unique and sustainable house blend of beans from Brazil, Costa Rica and India. Cherish each sip at The Wheatsheaf or grab and go with your coffee of choice in one of our biodegradable, takeaways cups.

Obviously we had to sit outside but every effort seemed to have been made to make it as enjoyable as possible, thank you Our waitress was lovely - very helpful and efficient
Excellent pub! Great food, ambiance and service. Located in a cute little town which added to its charm.
Great food and drink. We always have a very warm welcome and enjoy relaxing and eating great food. The garden atmosphere is beautiful with light background music, heaters and light. Staff are welcoming and service is great.
A great atmosphere in the garden
this experience was amazing from start to finish. The staggered layout of the garden with blankets on every chair and heaters, the sun trap, all just great. The service was brilliant and attentive. The menu was still extensive. The double cheese soufflé was sublime. The lamb cutlets were very tasty and not too filling. Best meal whilst we were staying in the Cotswolds!
Felt we were separated from the main seating area as we had a child (which is very well behaved) other than that lovely lunch out.
Nice atmosphere, dessert of Pavlova was very pretty and tasty but starter of squid was very expensive for an uninspiring dish.
Setting is lovely ,good menu, food was delicious, server was exceptional polite and entertaining. Food/drink service was a little slow , we waited an hour for our starters .
Delicious food, the outside space is very covid safe and wonderful to sit in - all in all, a delight!
Already recommended to a friend. Outdoor eating are well managed and staff were very attentive under the circumstances. Well done.
Loved our visit. Nice and cozy outside. Really nicely done.
It was our first time out post lockdown and it didn’t disappoint. The food was absolutely incredible. My wife has a dairy allergy and we were so impressed by the amount of food that was available on the menu. We sampled quite a few dishes and were really happy with them all. Everything was fresh and delicious, and served hot which must be a real challenge for outside dining! Can’t wait to return.
Amazing Sunday lunch at the best pub in Costwolds!
Excellent food and fantastic terrace - a real treat.
Everything was perfect thank you
Great efficient charming service and de licious food
Great food and friendly staff. Good to be back eating out!
Service wasn’t great. We were brought the wrong drinks on three separate occasions. The waiter couldn’t work out how much was left to pay on the bill after 5 out of the 6 of us had paid. First it was £16, then £26, and then, after we had paid, the waiter shouted “you still owe three pence!”. We had spent a substantial amount of money, and the three pence he was referring to, was from the discretionary tip. Quite embarrassing. The food, however, was lovely, and the heated outdoor marquees are perfect.
We had a fab time at the Wheatsheaf, the service was brilliant and reallu attentive. We were really comfortable having our 2 year old son joining us and it was really relaxed.
Lovely food was amazing thanks
Great service and delicious food!
Wonderful meal, as always
