You can expect a warm welcome whether you are popping in for a drink or joining us for a relaxing meal in the restaurant. Our bar is bursting with fantastic beers, lagers and cask ales whilst the wine list offers a cheeky bottle to match all tastes and complement our dishes.
The menu is constantly updated with dishes to tempt your taste buds and combine many talents of local suppliers to ensure we use the freshest and tastiest ingredients.
The whole experience was wonderful, my family and I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be coming back!
Excellent Sunday lunch, one of the best around! Friendly service. We'll definitely be back!
Wednesday evening meal..it was relatively quiet apart from a private party that adjourned to the rear private room. I had pate..lots of it and very tasty and my wife olives .a huge portion ..too many for one as a starter. She had rump steak ,perfectly cooked and delicious. I had the pot pie of the day chicken & leek also very nice apart from the absence of chicken in any quantity. Service was okay although not many servers considering the large group at the private do, Normally its quicker as we have been a few times when more in even. This visit was 6/10 usually its 8 or 9.
Good food, friendly service
Came to the Wheatsheaf for a Birthday treat and was well impressed! A lovely room, excellent meal and first class friendly staff. Will definitely be back. Thanks.
Always a pleasure dining here
Had a lovely mother’s day meal. Booked for 10 adults & a baby. Food was served quickly, and was lovely, staff were polite & professional. Lovely atmosphere as usual. We will be back.
Went for mother's day had a lovely meal, gift and exceptional, friendly and prompt service :-)
We ate lunch and dinner here. The sandwiches were delicious and freshly prepared. The service and the food was fantastic, we were over charged but refunded immediately when it was pointed out, We will return 👍
From the moment we walked in until we left the staff were absolutely outstanding and a credit to the business. Very professional. The food was freshly cooked and excellent. We will be back.
Excellent service - polite and attentive
We have eaten at The Wheatsheaf a few times now and on this occasion we got a dine and stay offer , it was great value. We stayed in the Paddock room which was lovely and had everything we needed ,, we had booked a table for our meal and it was lovely food served by excellent pleasant staff , In the morning breakfast didnt disappoint We will certainley visit again when in the area .
Lovely food as always! One of our favourite places to come to eat. Love it in the summer to in the park where my children can play safely. You cater for all! Service is amazing and you have a really good food selection.
Staff are extremely pleasant and attentive, but at the same time very discrete. Food was beautifully cooked.
Great food and service. Can't fault it.
The time between courses was a bit too long but everything else was very good.
It was midday on Sunday afternoon and we were the first there so it was empty which is why i scored the atmosphere as low
Last minute Sunday lunch, I will definitely return.
The meal and pub was lovely. Everyone was really accommodating with our 3 young children. The only issue we had was in regards to ordering wine. We asked to order a half bottle of red wine. The waitress bought 2 bottles out and advised that they were the only bottles. A member of the party chose one at random as we didn't have a wine list. When we came to pay, we very honestly mentioned that the wine had been left off. When we got the revised bull we were shocked to see that this half bottle cost £21! If we had been advised of this we would not of paid this extortionate amount for a half bottle. To be honest this put a dampener on what otherwise was a great experience and with small children this was an expensive mistake which may stop us visiting again.
Lovely evening, excellent food and drink and outstanding service. Many thanks.
Excellent food and service Will go again. Thanks to all the stafffor a very enjoyable evening
Good selection of food and excellent and prompt service from diligent and friendly staff.
Sunday lunch was OK. The vegetables were beautifully seasoned and cooked, the meats could of been better. The puddings weren't up to the usual standard, however we did order off the set menu. Only 2 spoons of custard poured over the pudding, I could see the bottom of my bowl...this was rectified by the staff and extra custard was bought to the table. Just a shame that i have had nicer food before at this pub. I think the main menu is better than the Sunday set Menu.
had a very, very, lovely valentines meal good atmosphere as always excellent service as always but the menu on the evening was perfect for ourselves limited choice which we pre picked but the food was superb thanks to all the staff, especially Carl, the big man always makes you welcome and is very much a peoples person, oh he also does a bit behind the bar!!!!
