About The Wheatsheaf Inn
You can expect a warm welcome whether you are popping in for a drink or joining us for a relaxing meal in the restaurant. Our bar is bursting with fantastic beers, lagers and cask ales whilst the wine list offers a cheeky bottle to match all tastes and complement our dishes.
The menu is constantly updated with dishes to tempt your taste buds and combine many talents of local suppliers to ensure we use the freshest and tastiest ingredients.
1st visit to The Wheatsheaf, the food was good, ale may have been near end of barrel, young man serving us was not very personable, but rest of staff very friendly. Will definitely give it another go, I think it deserves it.
The food we had was lovely but we did find the service quite slow.
Can not fault. Lovely Inn, great food, attentive and friendly staff
Nice place to spend the evening and we were well looked after. The food was good too.
Beautifully decorated inside with a good children’s play area. Had a 50% off voucher making the main meals very reasonable. The food however was very disappointing and there was a big gap between starters and mains. A couple of the mains were massively overcooked (tasted as if they’d been sat out under hot lamps frankly) and the onion rings were verging on inedible, they were that oily. Shame really as it’s a lovely place, would likely only return for drinks.
A last minute decision to go out tonight so made a quick phone call and....no problem getting a table. The meals we had were excellent...wheatsheaf burger, fish pie and fish and chips. Highly recommended. As always, the staff were helpful and friendly.
Excellent food and excellent service
We had a lovely meal at The Wheatsheaf on Sunday, the food was gorgeous and the atmosphere welcoming. The staff were very friendly and the service very good. We will definitely visit again soon.
We came for my Dad’s 70th Birthday and had a fabulous time! The staff were super friendly and helpful and the food was so yummy... there were 9 of us and we all cleaned our plates!! The park outside was great for entertaining the kids between ordering and the food arriving. I have already recommended it to friends!
Excellent service, beautiful well presented food good menu Thanks
Fantastic as always and very accommodating in terms of where we wanted to sit. Friendly and interactive staff.
An excellent finger buffet....a nice variety and really fresh. As always, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Recently had a table for 15 for a 50th Birthday party! The staff were very accommodating with us decorating the table etc... it was a very relaxed atmosphere all evening! The food all came at the same time and I loved the little touch of bringing the children’s meals first! Everybody loved the food both taste, quantity and quality! Great menu choice with something for everyone including our gluten free person! Great job! Will definitely be back
We went here for a birthday meal on Sunday. Food was good, service and atmosphere were good and we got the children's meals for free which made the meal really reasonable. We've booked to go back in a few weeks
Excellent service friendly staff food amazing.
We had a lovely evening thank you. Excellent food/drinks as always. There was a wedding function on but this didnt alter the service and the staff were very attentive thank you again.
Beautiful room to stay in with bathroom room lighting. Bed very comfy. Evening meal lovely, but breakfast huge disappointment. Rock solid bacon, tough skinned sausages and very over spicy tomatoes. Would choose different breakfast if we stay again.
Dining area was very comfortable, service was excellent and food was delicious. Will certainly be visiting again.
Wow what a find loved this trendy boutique hotel with fabulous food lovely rooms and friendly staff .
Sadly we were disappointed with the food. The chips were burnt. The homemade pie of the day with shortcrust pastry was cottage pie??? My friend had lasagne which was presented poorly. The portion was very small and served with burnt chips. The cottage pie was tasteless. I had been for lunch before and thoroughly enjoyed my sandwich so was expecting the same standard in the evening but was very disappointed. When the waitress brought the bill over she more or less threw it on the table. There were 2 groups of us there on different tables and both tables were dissatisfied. Although I would go for lunch I would not be coming the dinner.
First visit but definitely not the last. Beautiful meal.
Excellent food, plenty of choice on the Sunday menu.
We always enjoy the Wheatsheef Sunday Lunch - although would have preferred more green vegeatbles yesterday! My wife and I have been dining here since 1976!!!
Really friendly staff and great, hot and tasty food.
Chips were very nice but vegetables were under cooked for my liking. Steak and kidney pie was ok. Service was with a smile but considering it was quiet the service was not very quick.
