About The Wheatsheaf Pub & Kitchen
The Wheatsheaf has recently been taken over by new management, and has undergone a refurbishment and overhaul of its menus.
We now offer a welcoming and warm traditional pub environment with home cooked quality food and a wide range of great beers, ales, wines and spirits.
Our menu is made up of freshly prepared local fare.
Also our Sunday roast is not to be missed.

Sea bass dish was amazing.
Very well run with considerate staff
Just lovely as always x
We enjoyed our meal very much. Always good pies and Ales to be had in homely surroundings. Staff friendly and helpfull.
Fantastic meal really lovely staff made to feel really welcome will definitely be returning
We have visited several times since the change of ownership and have generally been impressed. However on our latest visit we thought the food was not quite as good. I had the belly pork, which I'd also had the previous week and it was delicious on that occasion. This time however it was a little dry as were the roast potatoes, as though they had been kept warm for some time. The plates were not hot either so consequently the food cooled quickly. Service was friendly and efficient though. Hopefully this was just a blip. As with all venues presently, lacking ambience due to low numbers but Xmas decorations tasteful and welcoming.
Lovely food and friendly staff. My husband said they were the best onion rings he had ever had 🤣. We will be back soon.
Excellent meal/service
Place looks lovely now

Second visit in a week! Absolutely gorgeous inside, the Xmas decs and open fire make it so cosy! The Camembert with honey and mustard pigs is TO DIE FOR
Lovely food and nice atmosphere!
Staff made us feel very safe with their Covid measures and they were very welcoming and friendly. food was lovely and they had some festive meals on the menu which were lovely.
Lovely food
We are so pleased with the lovely updates to our local pub both inside and out . The staff have been so friendly and the pub is so “pub safe “ that it is much safer that most workplaces and supermarkets. The new upgrades to all carpets , tables and chair furnishing is lovely in a new pale blue tartan and there is an outdoor area with heater which we have yet to try . We also enjoyed the new outdoor garden furniture in October but were pleased to see all the family friendly areas such as the climbing rope activity have been kept too .
Excellent throughout.
Great food,great service 🙂
Well organised, good variey on menu and value for money
First time we have been here under the new ownership. It was lovely food excellent and reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly and Social distancing guidelines adhered to.
Enjoyed the food, will come again. Atmosphere was a bit quiet.
2nd visit in recent weeks, the first visit couldn't be faulted. This time had a steak which was ok , came accompanied by standard tomato, onion rings and A mushroom (yes only one, a little stingy I feell as for pub grub it isn't cheap). We ordered a bottle of white wine which was served in an ice bucket but unfortunately had not been pre-chilled so was warm. When we told the staff, more ice was added to the bucket but surely there should be bottles stored in the fridge so they are already cold on serving. My other concern was that there was no restriction on numbers entering the toilets. Most other venues restrict to one in, one out. I witnessed 3 people followed by 2 kids entering in quick succession. Generally I would recommend the Wheatsheaf, which has seen a big improvement but in these uncertain times they need to get the detail right. Don't let us down, we don't want to witness this lovely pub being bulldozed for a housing development.!
