Great food, super staff, lovely place... we all had a great night 🙂
Best food in Bangor, and beyond! Excellent quality, excellent value, lovely atmosphere and great service. I can’t recommend the Wheathill enough.
I had the special £21 for three courses including a cheese board for dessert with a glass of wine - food is delicious and beautifully presented - best restaurant in Bangor
Great menu - and the food was delicious. Awesome gin fizz! Highly recommend. We hope to be back soon.
A slightly more varied main course menu would be better. Also, it was odd to receive a comment in booking confirmation to be finished by 830pm, our table was booked for 630pm. There were plenty of spare tables when we left!! The first course did not arrive until we had been seated for nearly an hour so it might have been difficult to enjoy all the courses and be out within 2 hours. Overall though a really nice meal and restaurant.
Great service, very attentive and we were a large party. Cocktails were fantastic and food was top notch. Very good restaurant, would definitely recommend.
A Bangor gem.
Best food in Bangor! Top quality, with excellent service as well. Highly recommend!!
I love the food here. Last night’s meal was excellent, as it has been each time I’ve been here. I eat out often as I spend a lot of time in London, but this is one of my favourite restaurants - right on my doorstep!! The quality of the cooking is really exceptional and every detail of the meal was delicious. Very highly recommended.
Great food and excellent service
Top quality food, in a lovely atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff. I highly recommend the Wheathill. Also very good value. Will definitely return.
Great as always
Superb all round experience - will definitely be back. Only comment would be that the seats could be a little comfier ..
Great restaurant with consistently high quality of food and service. The menu needs more regular changes or the specials board extended to lift this restaurant to excellent in all areas. Wine list is good if ia little limiting.
Our usual charming waitress made the night
Excellent lunch - the venison was superb!
Excellent restaurant
Arrived promptly and waited for around 2 minutes before we were approached by a waitress. Sat down and given no menus or option to order a pre dinner drink. Given menus and specials explained. Whilst a couple were sat beside us and obviously knew the waitress, we sat with no drink or attention for over 15mins, until we eventually caught the eye of another waitress passing by. While all the time the other waitress ‘Amy’ I think, stood talking to the couple known to her. Once the other girl took over we were really well looked after and the food was absolutely amazing! Would highly recommend and apart from the poor service from one waitress everything else was incredible. Thank you for a very memorable culinary delight!
This was our first visit which we largely enjoyed. The Restaurant had a nice ambience. However, we found the wooden chairs somewhat uncomfortable, particularly when sitting for several hours. Staff were excellent. Food was good but some of the starter portions could have been a bit more generous.
A special birthday lunch and most enjoyable. Waitress was friendly and helpful and menu selection was very good. Wish I’d opted for linguine starter like my husband did...the aroma was delectable! The hake with butterbean and chorizo stew was perfect as was the lamb rump with salsa verde. No room for dessert so simply had espressos. Best coffee we’ve had in a very long time....no bitterness nor liquorice aftertaste. A complimentary glass of prosecco for my husband ( birthday boy!) was a lovely touch. It made up for our disappointment with the Marlborough wine , only chosen as Salette not available. The latter is much nicer. However, full marks as ever.
Friendly. Bright. Professional. Efficient. Good atmosphere.
Amazing food that really showcases local produce. Every plate was superb. The service was very attentive and efficient, providing a great customer experience. I always look forward to the specials board - I had crab claws and the Bangor lobster.....amazing. The only constructive feedback, was the cheeseboard was very small @ £9 a portion, a few crackers worth of cheese. Double the portion size please. Also lacking any chutney or accompaniment apart from a few grapes, thanks to the chefs who did rustle a simple chutney up for us. Will bring some chutney with me next time or perhaps give the cheeseboard a pass.....
The Wheathill never fails to impress - delicious lunch of goats cheese salad and misco friso
Service a little hit and miss, had to ask for our wine twice (arrived mid starter) and more water. Main course significantly delayed but waitress very apologetic and took sides off as obviously something went wrong, we didn’t mind as were out for a leisurely relaxed evening. Food was beautiful as usual. Cheeseboard for two was a bit disappointing, no chutney, not enough crackers and only the cashel blue was tasty, other two were bland. We really like this restaurant and will be back, feedback simply our opinion!!
My friends and I had a most enjoyable evening at Wheathill. It was a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was quiet. The service was prompt and attentive, the wine was reasonably priced and of good quality the menu has a good food range and the food was well presented. I expect to be back soon. Many thanks Jim (David)
