About The Wee Restaurant Edinburgh
Situated in the heart of Edinburgh's New Town, The Wee Restaurant's ethos is to serve simple good food and wine in a truly relaxed atmosphere. Opened in April 2016, this is the second restaurant from husband and wife team Craig and Vikki Wood - the original Wee Restaurant opened in the picturesque Fife village of North Queensferry in 2006.
Chef Craig, Catering Scotland’s ‘Chef of the Year 2015’ delivers dishes based around the seasons, cooked with care and passion, showcasing the great ingredients available in Scotland.
The Wee Restaurant Edinburgh is open for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday offering an a la carte menu, as well as a set price ‘menu du jour’ at lunchtime and until 5pm on Saturday.
Food was delicious - best mussels ever! Excellent wine list. Highly recommed dining here.
First time in The Wee Restaurant number 2 having been a huge fan of the original in North Queensferry for many years. Loved the new sophisticated image but most importantly the food was outstanding ; fresh, seasonal and superb value. This was a lunch to celebrate my Aunt's 70th birthday and she was hugely impressed too. Thanks to Craig, Vikki and team for looking after us so well and making it a genuinely special experience.
Superb lunch! Will be returning for dinner. I have already started recommending The Wee Restaurant.
Great service. Great food. Great location. Thanks.
Food , service and ambience all amazing !
Excellent "new" restaurant. The scallops were an amazing starter complemented beautifully with boudin noir and the celeriac slaw. The moules and frites delicious too! Chips divine! All washed down with a lush bottle of Muscadet. Simple food exquisitely executed. Fab service.
On arrival we sat for 20/30 minutes and received no menu, no offer of drinks and no eye contact was possible to try and attract attention. We then left and grabbed a late table at stac polly where we had a wonderful meal. I have had to put 1 star in for this review to work but i feel i have been overly generous.
Good service. Some of the cooking a bit off eg over cooked fish.
Very excited about The Wee Restaurant opening in Edinburgh. Our meal was superb. We will definitely return to further enjoy the full range on the menu. Staff were very friendly and attentive.
An exceptional dining experience with excellent service. Will definitely be back.
I've been to your restaurant for a Sunday lunch. The food was absolutely awesome for a very reasonable price! The staff has been professional and kind. Great job! I'm going to spread the word of your restaurants!
Great new find, small is beautiful, the food was excellent albeit a wee tad expensive. Good wine list but took the waitress recommendation which was an excellent choice.
Lovely restaurant and very pleasant girl serving us
Excellent service and food with a friendly atmosphere
Lovely first experience , good food , friendly service and the toilets are very clean (always a good sign for me ) I look forward to returning
Gorgeous food in a great setting.Lives up to expectations set by the original in North Queensferry.
We had a fabulous lunch and would like to wish Craig,Mike and the team all the very best in this new venture. We will definately be back xx
Really good meal and enjoyable night out. Bread at start of meal very good as well. Good set of options on menu. Will be back. Set lunch menu looks a fantastic offer.
Delightful restaurant, staff attentive but not over powering. Food fantastic. Must apologise for not leaving till a bit late - we were having such a good time we didn't notice the clock. The coffee is fabulous too. On this occasion neither of the owners were there and the staff have obviously been so well trained it didn't matter. This is one to watch - and book as once the news is out....
Enjoyed our lunch very much. Food excellent but choice limited on daily specials menu. Very few other diners hence lower score for atmosphere but it's early days. Pre - theatre/ early bird menu would be good as well as 2 & 3 course lunch menu.
Good food very quiet though!
Restaurant just opened but we know the North Queensferry restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious beautifully presented and just the right portion sizes. It's a very comfortable room, nice chairs, good decor and friendly Sta
Craig and Vicki have done it again. Everything that was on offer in North Queensferry (except the Forth Bridge), but conveniently situated in central Edinburgh. That lovely warm bread to start, the oh so tasty starters, mains and deserts and then coffee and petit fours to finish. Keep up this standard and you'll be fighting them back at the door. An alcohol free beer would be a bonus.
