The restaurant decor is beautiful and the views are stunning. The sun was low in the sky and with no blinds to lower, unfortunately it did cause an issue. The food was a little bit of a let down. Three mini oatcakes to a large slab of pate didn't add up and the children's Sunday roast served on an inappropriate size plate with one cold slice of tough roast beef and less than tasty Yorkshire pudding. The mash I'm told was lovely. Desserts got a thumbs up both for presentation and taste. The biggest bug bear was the staffs lack of training in applying a gift card balance. I was made to feel that I had an invalid card and then told several times that I had to register it online. I read out the instruction on the gift card holder that stated that you simply present at time of purchase. The staff member then sought assistance from Victor who was of help but when he left, the staff member tried to get me to authorise my card for the full amount again. Another customer was listening to this and shaking his head. The fiasco was eventually resolved but was quite off putting. Despite asking for my coat, it was only brought to me by the third person I asked.
pleasant staff and the food is great, we will definitely be back
I have dined with you and your other group restaurants hundreds of times. Generally I have enjoyed these meals. I was extremely disappointed yesterday with the quality of the food. In particular, our table were unable to eat the lasagne main meal, which was inedible because it was so salty, and the macaroni main meal, which was sweet, almost tasting as though it was rotten. I will not be dining with you again.
Really nice hotel and dining room, excellent meal with good attentive service!
An excellent dining experience, friendly and efficient service and really good food attractively presented.
Food was lovely, staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Lovely surroundings.
My wife and I go here regularly. Never disappointed.
Food was good enough, nothing wrong with it but a bit overpriced for what it was. Service was average. Lovely setting which may make me return but I doubt it.
Service v good considering such a busy day! Well done and thanks again. Shown to our table and drinks order very quick, we had our baby and asked for some water to cool his milk was not an issue.
Très bel endroit
Excellent location, great food and friendly staff. The food choice, food presentation and quality of the food was fantastic with our dining experience on our visit top notch.
Good food and drink, nice place and great location. Friendly staff.
Had a very enjoyable meal in lovely surroundings. Service was excellent.
We were celebrating a birthday in our party and we had a 1 1/2 year old and a 4 year old. We waited just over an hour for our mains since getting our starters and even after speaking to 2 waitpersons our deeps was still not ready. The kids had already had their main meals and ours hadn’t been cooked yet! They also waited over 20 minutes for their ice cream which would have appeased them in the mean time. We appreciate it was busy and also that the manager gave us 50% off of our total food bill, but to be honest, the food wasn’t great for what we were supposed to pay and it ruined the family birthday meal. If we hadn’t have already ordered the kids ice cream we would have just left without having the main meal. The haggis burger we got was dry (no sauce or anything to accompany it) and the chips on the other dishes were not what we would have expected - all little ends of chips which felt like the last of the chips that were lying there were shoved onto the plate for quickness. We aren’t one for complaining but we just felt we had absolutely no choice as we felt so let down. What a shame, a birthday meal ruined (we appreciated the 50% but it didn’t make up for the amount of time lost trying to keep the kids occupied whilst waiting for our meals.) and a lovely setting for dinner but I doubt we will return as the overall experience was terrible.
A lovely day sitting outside in the garden area. Service was quite prompt although a little impersonal from some individuals. Overall food and coffees were very nice although the lasagne portion was small for £14 and over heavy on pasta - on it's own would merit 3*s at most.
We arrived late due to a traffic jam but did phone ahead to warn staff. We had to wait an hour for food as a member of staff forgot to “press a button” My lasagne was average at best! Sorry but not impressed.
Table was not set soup was served cold sent it back staff semed to be not trained to a suitable standard I thought the menu was disappointing
My family and I popped in for lunch yesterday and we had such a lovely time. The service was fab! We had my two year old nephew with us and the waitress (Ellie) was just wonderful with him - she chatted to him throughout our visit, waving to him as she passed, gave him high 5’s, making both him and us feel so welcomed and relaxed. Our meals were all delicious and promptly served not long after we ordered. Our only tiny criticism is that the child’s portion of macaroni was far far too hot when it arrived, it was bubbling at the sides of the plate and there was a very strong taste of mustard to it too, which might be a little too spicy for some little ones. A lovely visit to the Waterside, we will most definitely be back - thank you!
Lovely food in a great location
Lovely meal and setting.
The service was excellent. Food was nice. With coffee I was surprised to be given white sachets of sugar instead of good quality brown sugar lumps served in a sugar bowl.
The main meal was good value for money however the deserts were very very expensive
Lovely venue food was well presented and enjoyable service was very fast staff were very attentive and friendly would definitely recommend. My daughter was married here last October and I have to say the wedding was a fantastic day from start to finish
Very slow service but food was delicious
