About The Waterfront
Welcome to the Waterfront Ayr!
The Waterfront Restaurant-Bar-Terrace is a stylish, stunning venue overlooking the River Ayr.
Offering a wide range of food and drinks in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.
Loved it! Even when there was a slight mix up on the order it was managed efficiently and didn't distract from our experience. We are recommending you already!
Lovely food good service and value for money
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and cocktails for date night here last night. Definitely be back
Excellent place. Food was Devine! Staff could have a bit more knowledge regard the fish and how to de -shell. Other that that staff were very helpful and kind. Very clean beautiful place.
Food was excellent. Service was a little inattentive considering that there were only 6 guests in the restaurant/bar.
DINING ON SUNDAY 25 AUGUST. NO DRINK ON ARRIVAL OFFERED. LONGER THAN USUAL WAIT FOR COURSES BUT OUTSIDE AND RESTAURANT WAS BUSY. MY CHICKEN WAS DRY AND MY YORKSHIRE PUDDING COLD. AS USUAL A LACK OF A DECENT PORTION OF VEG WITH MAIN MEAL. MY HUSBANDS FISH AND CHIPS CAME WITH COLD AND SOGGY POTATO WEDGES, ALTHOUGH IT WAS ON THE MENU AS FISH AND CHIPS. WHEN HE MENTIONED IT AND REQUESTED ORDINARY CHIPS, THE WAITRESS SAID DO YOU WANT THE FROZEN CHIPS THEN. DISAPPOINTING.
I am never disappointed in the food or the professionalism of the staff....one of my favourite restaurants in Ayr👍
Good service, good selection on menu. Good views over river and choice of formal dining area if not using bar. Relaxed atmosphere. Recommend.
Food great, atmosphere really friendly. Service great but a bit slow. May have been due to a function in the other room?? Highly recommend a visit..
Lovely evening thanks
Over priced starters and small portions Sunday lunch one roast potato cut in half. One slice of beef all fat.
Fantastic food and service....will delve back.
Very disappointed with this visit. After visiting previously and the whole family loving the seafood platters we decided to return. 2 platters were ordered & quality was extremely disappointing. The langoustines still had intestinal tract in them, the oysters had sand & grit in them, the crispy prawns were extremely greasy & soggy. When we highlighted to waitress she took one of the platters back to the kitchen where the chef advised that all had been prepared properly so the platter was returned to us. The manager was made aware of the issue however, never approached us to discuss. We were left having to ask for clean plates to eat what we could from platters. WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING & will be advising all friends & family of the same!!
Very good value for delicious food enjoyed by all. Excellent as always.
Lovely meal staff very nice .. altogether very good experience just quiet for Thursday . Very happy with food ! Beautiful
Great setting. Excellent menu choice and delicious meals. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
The staff were nice and helpful but three order incorrect. Roast beef came in pink instead of brown despite being asked for preference by staff. Asked for two chocolate ice cream scoops and one vanilla scoop - got it the other way round. My wife's brie from cheeseboard was like a brick and returned. Should never have left kitchen. Despite all this it was just about ok. Did not tip. I like to tip as I used to work in the trade and appreciate how hard it is. Cheers
Was visiting Ayr with Family yesterday and we went to the Waterfront for dinner. There was 7 adults and 2 young children. The staff where amazing and made us feel very welcome and could not do enough for us. The food was freshly cooked and tasted fantastic. Great choice on the menu and not over priced. Highly recommend.
The overall service I feel wasn't great to be honest. When myself and my partner arrived we advised we had a reservation and it looked to us as though the staff were not aware of the reservation I had made, and to be told "just sit at that booth at the back" whilst one of the waitresses pointed to a table at the back of the room I don't really find that acceptable service.... it would have been a lot nicer and better customer service to have been shown to our table. The drinks were good value and the cocktail my partner ordered they enjoyed it. The meal itself, we both ordered pan fried salmon with chilli noodles. The salmon was average but I expected the salmon to have crispy skin as it was pan fried? The sauce on the noodles tasted like it was out of a jar. We decided not to have a dessert as the main was not great. We asked for the bill and were then charged full price for the salmon when it was a promo every Friday night "Fishy Friday". We had to go to the bar and advise we had been overcharged for the meals which was rectified by one of the waitresses. Im not sure if it was just a bad night or something was wrong but the overall atmosphere, service and food was all quite poor and unfortunately we wont be returning and wont be recommending the Waterfront as we were both disappointed after reading the great reviews about it!
The staff at The Waterfront were all friendly and helpful; the food was lovely and the meal was very good value for money.
Family thoroughly enjoyed their meal.
Good pub grub. Our dog was made very welcome. Staff lovely and attentive without being obtrusive. Pretty good value for money with the 2 courses + drink menu for £14.95
Roast beef was very dried up, Yorkshire pudding and carrots and parsnips nice however the whole dish was not hot enough, but disappointing. Pudding was good.
Enjoyed a lovely meal here on Saturday, 2 courses and a cocktail for £15. Service and staff were excellent, also now a dog-friendly restaurant which is good to know!
