About The Walnut Tree Inn Blisworth
Succulent beef from the Newbottle estate near Brackley, tasty free-range poultry from Yardley Hastings and deeply delicious free range eggs from Milton Malsor, just a few of the locally sourced foods we offer in the dining room and bar at the Walnut Tree Inn. We’re committed to providing you with the very best ingredients, whilst supporting local farmers and suppliers – you’ll enjoy a true taste of the county.
A very pleasant ambience, my wife and I enjoyed a lovely meal
Me and my boyfriend’s been twice on Saturday’s evening. Excellent atmosphere, life music, good food. I highly recommend.
This was the best meal I have had put in a long time, great food and service and not the average dinner either. The chocolate fondant and sorbet was amazing!
booked for Sunday dinner with the family recently and was impressed with the quality of food and value for money.. Will be coming back soon.
Lovely meal, lovely pub. Great.
Great food, great service . Very good experience . We will definitely be returning
The roast beef was rather tough which spoilt an otherwise very good meal.
As always the sunday dinner was amazing. We had a group of 17 and the service was perfect. All food was bought out in a timely manner and the staff were very polite. 1 thing I would recommend to the restaurant is to make the selection of puddings wider with atleast 1 simple traditional pudding such as profiteroles, crumble or fudge cake.
This was our first visit to The Walnut Tree Inn. We booked a table for Sunday lunch in the bar area and were well looked after by the attentive staff. The food was excellent value for money and we will certainly be back soon! Mark, Northampton
We had a lovely dinner at the Walnut Tree, with excellent food and the service was attentive without being intrusive. We will certainly be visiting again
Lovely cod and chips, and very pleasant young lady serving us I go there quite often they had a sea food risotto on the menu, I wish they would bring that back. Generally the food is very good.
The “service” was shocking from the moment we walked in. We received no acknowledgment from the waitress/barmaid who was stood in the corner of the bar and remained standing there for some time. Not even a hello. It appeared to be quite an inconvenience that we had made a reservation and that we asked for some drinks. She needs to be taught that please and thank you go a long way, as does a smile. The most we got was “yeah” and “anything else?”. Having reserved a table for 4, we were directed to a table that was set for 2. No menus were offered and we had to go back to the bar to ask for the same. The food was the best part, there were no complaints about this. It is just such a shame that it was overshadowed, mainly by the young lady on the bar, but also by the waitress who served us at the table. She too failed to crack a smile and was actually quite argumentative. Very disappointing. Will not be returning.
Lovely food. Third visit and consistently high standard of food and service!
Very enjoyable meals and good ale
Artisan bread very good. Veggie burger very poor. Chicken salad tasteless and below par and poor value for money. Service was extremely slow. Also very disappointed that the main comedian was changed without any explanation whatsoever
Felt very welcomed and really enjoyed the whole experience
We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch at the Walnut Tree. Very impressed with the service. Roast beef and roast pork were excellent and good portions; nice to be given the option of pink/ well done for the beef. All very hot too.
Exceptional once again
Excellent food as always. Catered perfectly for my gluten-free requirements as a coeliac. Attentive service and great ambience, too.
We visited on Saturday 20th January for our anniversary. We had a drink in the bar first, my Gin was served with flat tonic, such a waste of nice Gin, they poured the glass full, I prefer my tonic on the side and add just a small amount. I think this particular tonic had been open awhile. The restaurant was busy, but we had a table closer to the entrance so it was thankfully less noisy. We enjoyed the food, the starters were served Tapas style and were tasty and plentiful. Both my partner and I ordered the Pheasant for our main course, It came with delicious Dauphinoise potatoes, but we had to point out to the waiter that the meat was really overseasoned, the bon bon in particular. It was so salty we had to drink copious amounts of water when we got home. We only ordered wine by the glass during dinner, your wine list is very interesting but I think that you could provide a better quality selection for your wine by the glass, not everyone can drink a whole bottle of wine, and serving a red that is just £5.95 a bottle in Aldi was a little disappointing. The moneysaving theme was also borne out by the use of bright green paper serviettes stuck in a glass, something even our local village pub doesn't do - cloth napkins are so much nicer don't you think?
Had a lovely birthday meal here in the bar area. Good atmosphere and service .
We had an absolutely wonderful visit to the Walnut Tree. As quite a large party of 21, we were very happy with the service we received and the quality of the food. Our waitress was so helpful and attentive, as was the manager on duty. Every single person at the meal commented on how wonderful the food was, along with the service and we had the perfect evening for my mum's 60th birthday. Thank you!
Great food and great service I would highly recommend
Lovely evening, good food and service.
