About The Vine Restaurant
A contemporary and tailored perspective.
Did not consider the breakfast to be freshly cooked, sat around 20 mins before someone cleared table.
I was extremely disappointed- I took my parents for a breakfast. we waited ages for tea and coffee - two teapots delivered one with no lid - I asked for one and it came with a screw poking out and no knob - the scrambled egg had to be sent back as not cooked and all the food was only Luke warm. We had finished our drinks before breakfast came and I asked for sugar when my porridge was put down and 5 mins later I was delivered sugar cubes. Eventually I got a very large dirty bowl of sugar which had lumps in it. All very very shoddy and poor. I will not be returning and will feel the need to share my experience with friends so they don’t suffer the same.
We had a lovely meal, dining off of the three courses for £25 offer in November. The member of waiting staff was so friendly and helpful and the food seriously delicious.
The menu has changed from last time I dined with you with friends and family a few months ago. It was good before and even better now.
Our wine was corked , forgot one of our starters completely , when main meals were ready the head waiter told us that the veal was not too standard and two guests had to change their main meals when the others were ready , staff need to up their game , plaice was the smallest I’ve ever had . The quality of the food when it arrived however was good . Sorry was so looking forward to the evening and it was spoilt 😢
Staff were very friendly and the food was excellent - we will definitely come back.
Staff friendly and helpful but sadly our risottos were inedible
First time visit. Really enjoyed our lunch. Food was great. Look forward to booking again soon.
Inattentive waiting staff. Significant delays after asking for still water, sparkling water, wine. No one ever asked if we needed anything. When we asked for bottle of the Languedoc wine, told that was the last one and the waiter walked off - I had to call him back to ask for an alternative. I quietly asked the waiter to offer more service and he replied that he was too busy and had to look after other diners. The fillet steaks were the smallest, thinnest steaks I have seen - especially at the price. Quite empty for a Saturday night.
We enjoyed our starter of crab and crayfish but our lemon sole was over cooked and both the fish and the extra vegetables were not very hot.
Perfect Lemon Sole! Best I have ever tasted and I love my fish.
We had a wonderful Sunday lunch at the Vine. I had visited a year ago and was really disappointed with the service however this time it exceeded all expectations, the food and service was flawless. Our whole party got the roast and we all agreed it was one of the best we have ever had!
Lovely views across the green, friendly service, very happy with food.
I think the descretionary tip item in the bill was not obvious being a faded line not as bold as other items close by well we missed it and gave a tip in addition !! Also I booked initially for 4 got a confirmation subsequently 3 weeks before I emailed to say can we increase the number to five .On the day I realised that I did not have a confirmation for 5. I rang the restaurant and was told they were very busy and would not be able to change the number however looking at the diary we were down as 5 I was very surprised that during our 3h at the Vine it was never more than half full so why would changing from 4 to 5 be a big deal!
A good well cooked Sunday lunch
No cocktails available as stated on the website
Service was ok but didn’t have sugar and butter on table when we receive our coffee and food. Atmosphere is quite cold... I was very disapointed with my breakfast. I ordered smash avocado sourdough with poached egg with cherry tomato and chili. ( I received sun dried tomato in the avocado, which wasnt great at all ).. and it wasnt on the menu ingredients.
Very enjoyable breakfast.
An unexpectedly poor experience. While we were there, there was also a large family party with lots of children. Despite their being in another section of the restaurant, the level of noise was so bad at times that my group of four couldn't hear each other without raising our voices. Neither the adults in the family party nor the Vine staff seemed bothered about how this was affecting the experience of other diners (admittedly, there weren't many - making the slow service we experienced inexplicable). But even worse than all that was the food. The Vine used to serve delicious food - beautifully presented and different. Once or twice over the years it's varied a bit but it's always been an interesting culinary experience. Unfortunately, Tuesday night's fare was dull and disappointing, and about the same standard as you'd find in any chain restaurant on any high street. I've been going to the Vine for over eight years and but, sadly, that was my last visit. While the food may have varied a little over that time, the service has always good and the atmosphere relaxing but not any more. There are better places to dine in Sevenoaks but even if there weren't, I'd rather stay at home than have another experience like this.
Excellent meal on Friday lunchtime, made all the more special by great service. The waiter made my 7 yr old daughter feel so welcome, even making her a non alcoholic cocktail when he heard us trying to explain them to her! Fantastic place, best in Sevenoaks.
Lovely evening, thanks for the 30th birthday surprise prosecco!
My wife and I had a very enjoyable evening, food and service was excellent. The complimentary wine and champagne for our anniversary was a lovely touch.
Waited 25 mins for some toast and asked 3 times when it was going to arrive? once the order was taken the breakfast was over 20 mins. We had to chase 3 times to pay the bill. I would not mind if the place was busy, only 3 other tables had customers. I use to come here almost every week and service has got worse. I thought I would try it again after a long time, and seems to have got worse! It’s like the customers are invisible to the staff. Also the toilets you could tell had not been cleaned from the Saturday night and were in a mess in the gents. Shame a nice location and restaurant let down by lack of care from the staff.
Nice food - good service Wine we wanted was unfortunately not available but good alternative provided. Nice evening thanks
