About The Vine Restaurant
A contemporary and tailored perspective.
Excellent meal on Friday lunchtime, made all the more special by great service. The waiter made my 7 yr old daughter feel so welcome, even making her a non alcoholic cocktail when he heard us trying to explain them to her! Fantastic place, best in Sevenoaks.
Lovely evening, thanks for the 30th birthday surprise prosecco!
My wife and I had a very enjoyable evening, food and service was excellent. The complimentary wine and champagne for our anniversary was a lovely touch.
Waited 25 mins for some toast and asked 3 times when it was going to arrive? once the order was taken the breakfast was over 20 mins. We had to chase 3 times to pay the bill. I would not mind if the place was busy, only 3 other tables had customers. I use to come here almost every week and service has got worse. I thought I would try it again after a long time, and seems to have got worse! It’s like the customers are invisible to the staff. Also the toilets you could tell had not been cleaned from the Saturday night and were in a mess in the gents. Shame a nice location and restaurant let down by lack of care from the staff.
Nice food - good service Wine we wanted was unfortunately not available but good alternative provided. Nice evening thanks
great food and excellent service. Had a lovely time there
Took son for lunch for his 40th birthday. Good food, good service and personal attention.
The starter we ordered turned out not be available, to the slight chagrin of the restaurant manager who hadn't been informed by the chef. but the alternatives we chose were more than satisfactory. We chose fish main courses but different ones; both were beautifully cooked and presented. An excellent meal on what for us was a special occasion.
We had a very pleasant dinner. Food was freshly prepared and good. Wine list is quite broad and overall reasonably priced with a good selection. Service was attentive and not intrusive. All told would certainly go back there.
Had a very enjoyable meal. We have been many times before and we're not disappointed! Interesting menu, both my wife and I enjoyed all our choices. Will definitely be back!
Lovely evening, great food & service, not rushed.
Nice food very good service
Very overpriced. Starters ok. Main dish of Roast Cod disappointing, Very small piece of cod, new potatoes and few green leaves! Dessert included sorbet, which was omitted and when we asked why we were told "It's not set yet " Will not be returning.
Overall, we were extremely disappointed with our lunch at the Vine on Sunday afternoon. We were celebrating an anniversary and wanted to go somewhere special and local to us. The Vine promised to be just what we were looking for, but unfortunately, as mentioned, we left disappointed. Our starters, (dressed crab with sourdough) was very tasty, but the bread did not taste like sourdough and tasted burnt where it had been grilled. My partner had the lamb main course which was overcooked and quite tough and he ordered mash on the side, but it came with dauphinoise potatoes on the same plate. I ordered the duck main with mash on the side. My duck leg came on top of my mash and without any sauce. It was a really dry meat and when I asked for some sauce (expecting an option for some sort of jus), I was offered mustard, horseradish or gravy. Gravy being the only appropriate option came up with a flavour so over powering that it was far too rich and I couldn't eat it. I ended up leaving most of my duck as I was completely put off after a few mouthfuls and the waiter noticed this. Kindly he took this off of the bill for us without us having to ask. For desert, I ordered the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. The pudding came up fridge temperature cold?! This should have been serviced warm with the ice cream. Once again disappointing. We were hoping that the Vine would be a place for us to visit regularly being new to the area, but as we were so disappointed, we decided that we wouldn't be returning which is a real shame.
The food (steak) was perfectly cooked and probably amongst the nicest we’ve eaten! Service was polite and not intrusive, perfect! The large doors were open when we arrived and we were offered a table near them, I mentioned that it was a bit cold so we were offered a different table. A little later, when diners near the door had left, the waiter asked if I’d like the doors closed-well remembered!
Great venue, good service, wine not cold enough for our liking, small portions.
We love The Vine, one of our top restaurants to go on a Saturday night. Could do with a tidy up now (Painting) around the windows, and we had a few dead flys laying on the window ledges! Table 15 is our favourite.
My wife and I visited Friday afternoon and had a delightful lunch my wife had king prawns I had the roast rump of lamb wine was Pinot Noir Marlborough which was excellent followed by cheese board coffees perfectly cooked and great attentive service. We have been eating at this excellent restaurant for many years but this meal was the best we have ever had at The Vine Sevenoaks!! Many thanks to all management and staff!
Really lovely breakfast
can do with 1 or 2 Italian dishes
Lovely steaks we had. Only improvement is kids meal, lack of vegetables, sausage and mash, perhaps add a few peas or carrots or broccoli please would be more balance. Also not so keen on the orange flavour chocolate ice cream.
Excellent service, and food and drink good standard as usual.
Always a pleasure to dine at the Vine
