About The Vine Restaurant
A contemporary and tailored perspective.
Unfortunately very disappointed with service and food delivery. Meal came incomplete, table service was OK, greeting at the door was poor and seemed uncertain of self/job/task. Such a lovely space with lots of potential but won't be returning soon.
Generally fine. And enjoyable. I no longer live in the UK and so I loved the homemade Shepherd pie - and the sticky toffee pudding was gorgeous.
The breakfast was delicious. Unfortunately the service which had been excellent became far less attentive once we had finished eating. Will definitely be back but I hope we don’t have wait so long next time to pay (we had to get up and ask the waitress).
Lovely restaurant with amazing food
An excellent evening
Nice restaurant nice mains, however brownie dessert was very dry. Nice atmosphere and service though
We are increasingly disappointed in the quality and heat of the breakfasts you serve. As a regular group coming to the Vine, we are looking elsewhere. Apart from the food, we love coming! Please resolve this so we can return with confidence.
Great at all times of day but especially for a sun filled breakfast
Seemed like there was a number of trainee staff on the floor when we visited. A number of times, we had to get up and physically walk to the bar to ask for condiments, drinks and staff to clear our empty glasses. Food was good as always, but service very much let the dining experience down.
Quite the worst experience I have had in many years . I refused to pay the service charge . Feel free to call me for more details 07818 404107
When we arrived at the Vine Restaurant, we found that the menu was very different from the one provided when we booked. The fillet steak had been replaced by medallions of beef. The menu indicated that the £100 cost was for a 5 course meal. The medallions of beef arrived, two small (6cm) round pieces of meat, sliced potato rougly equivalent to 1 medium sized potato and about 6 baby carrots. Following dessert, I enquired about the Cheese and Biscuits which appeared on the menu as a seperate item. I was told by the waiter that this was an alternative to dessert, not another course. We finised with mince pies and coffee. When the bill arrived, £282 for two people, which did include a bottle of wine, 1 g and t and two brandies, the coffee and mince pies were charged as extras and they had put on a 15% service charge. I complained to the restaurant after I got home, I didn't want to create a scene on Christmas Day and the owner offered me a £40 refund. I feel that we were well and truly 'ripped off' on Christmas day, a huge price for a very poor meal. We have been regular customers for over 10 years but this will be our last visit.
Contemporary interior, excellent menu choices and delicious food served by attentive staff. Looking forward to trying the breakfasts and a visit on a summer evening.
Unfortunately (and very disappointingly) the standard of food, service and overall ambience has declined. This used to be high class and one of the best restaurants in Sevenoaks, where you would go to experience fine dining, excellent wine and service. Now it feels more aligned to 'pub food standard and service at inflated prices. The fact that the restaurant was almost empty when we dined seems to indicate that other customers may be of the same opinion.
All a bit disappointing, food was very standard pub food my pork belly was to tough I left a large chunk. Service was a bit weird - it didn’t feel like the waiters are trained - also didn’t bother getting our coats as we left. Not a great restaurant
Excellent food and very professional and friendly staff; will definitely return
All very good, but we nearly cancelled because the booking confirmation said that we would only have 90 mins for our meal! That's not long enough. Now, on the evening, it wasn't an issue- we stayed a lot longer and were not pressured at all. But how many bookings are ou losing because (potential) patrons are afraid they will be?
Went as a large party - service good, staff friendly would recommend and certainly go again.
The Service staff were not particularly friendly or engaging. They didn’t ever check if our food was ok or we were happy. The 5 people who had the lemon sole were disappointed with their food (tepid/over cooked/bony). Others were very happy with their choices. A mixed bag!
We had a great time but I’m afraid the service was a real let down. Lovely boys, and very polite, but not a clue what they were doing. Left plates on table for at least 30 mins after our party of ten had finished, went missing when we needed the bill, and no idea who had ordered what. I’m afraid it was the kind of service I’d expect in a weatherspoons pub, not somewhere charging £15-30 for a main course. Felt like your staff were essentially on work experience. Lovely setting though, good food and the sun was shining so not a complete let down. Please improve training and we’ll be back!
Service was slow but food was good.
Overall the food and service were good but it took an hour for our starters to arrive
Did not consider the breakfast to be freshly cooked, sat around 20 mins before someone cleared table.
I was extremely disappointed- I took my parents for a breakfast. we waited ages for tea and coffee - two teapots delivered one with no lid - I asked for one and it came with a screw poking out and no knob - the scrambled egg had to be sent back as not cooked and all the food was only Luke warm. We had finished our drinks before breakfast came and I asked for sugar when my porridge was put down and 5 mins later I was delivered sugar cubes. Eventually I got a very large dirty bowl of sugar which had lumps in it. All very very shoddy and poor. I will not be returning and will feel the need to share my experience with friends so they don’t suffer the same.
We had a lovely meal, dining off of the three courses for £25 offer in November. The member of waiting staff was so friendly and helpful and the food seriously delicious.
The menu has changed from last time I dined with you with friends and family a few months ago. It was good before and even better now.
