About The Vine
The Vine is more than a pub. Set in the heart of beautiful Goudhurst village, it offers a traditional family friendly Pub with a great selection of drinks and classic dishes, a Grill with a focus on steaks grilled over charcoal and the loungiest Lounge in which to enjoy coffee, cocktails, fizz and artisan gin. We also have two gardens; the Courtyard at the rear where you can enjoy a drink or al fresco dining and the Front Garden, perfect for watching the world go by..
The Vine strives to be the social centre of village life but is also a destination worthy of a car journey. A place to meet, chat, relax, eat and drink.
So what makes us different?...We are a family owned freehouse, passionate about the drink and food we serve, how we serve it and the environment in which it is served. The Vine is quintessentially English but with added flair and imagination.
Our ethos is – if we can source it locally we will. Kentish craft beers, wines, ciders and spirits are supplemented by the old favourites. Our food comes from local producers, farms and suppliers.
Andres was an exceptional host with expert knowledge of the wine and menu as well as being highly entertaining. We were a party of 5 ladies; 3 had fillet steak, one sea bass broth and one lamb. The steaks were cooked to perfection for each of our differing requirements. The lamb was succulently pink and the broth was very flavoursome. We even gave the chef a round of applause at the end! Thank you for a lovely evening. We will definitely be back.
Well worth a visit
Great food and experience.
excellent food great welcome fantastic pub
Very good food but not enough staff on Xmas Eve.
The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and we all enjoyed our time. The only down sid was that the food took a while to come out but we did not complain as we enjoyed the atmosphere and was well worth it when it did come out.
Great food and service
Food and service were good, but burgers and steak would have liked more chips! Lamb was divine.
Group of 9 of us had a wonderful Sunday roast here. Service was excellent.
Very slow service. Had to chase our drinks order 3 times.
The waiter was a delight!
I think we visited in a difficult day. The place was cold. The heating had only just been turned on even the staff wearing coats !! Having viewed the menu online we were looking forward to our meal. Unfortunately the menu given to us was very restricted and some of those items not available It was as though there were problems.
My husband and I have started going on treks in Bedbgebury and we discovered Vine when we were looking to grab a quick bite before driving home to Margate. We were very pleasantly surprised and the amazing quality of the cooking in this cozy, yet modern pub. We now make it a point to eat here every time we come down. The black pudding scotch egg is to die for and the Sunday roast was superb. The staff were also very attentive and positive (but not too attentive). We love it!
Good food and service
A million miles better than it was a few years ago. We had burgers which were ok, but not anything special. Service was very good and friendly.
Our waitress was very friendly, attentive, and had good knowledge of the menu.
We booked a table online the day before our visit and received an email confirmation but the staff were unaware. Fortunately there was space to accommodate us. This was a minor inconvenience, The staff were attentive, our food (Sea Bass) arrived within a few minutes and was good value for money
A lovely lunch was had in a rustic, atmospheric, welcoming pub.
Good service from the friendly staff. Food was good, possibly the best scotch egg I have ever had. Nice wine selection. Totally recommend.
Lovely food, very attentive service, will definitely visit again when next in the area.
Sensational service, lovely atmosphere. I was expecting a succulent juicy steak but it was like an old leather boot. The staff offered me a new steak to be fair, I didn't want to cause a fuss so it's entirely my fault, however, I definitely expected much more from a £30 Rib Eye, it was without a doubt the worst steak I've had in a restaurant. The waiter and waitress were incredible though.
Excellent food and quality service in a superb and beautiful location.
The Food was Fantastic, excellent Quality and Amazing Flavours, the Service was also excellent , They was a lovely calm relaxed atmosphere so much so that we have booked again for Lunch on Sunday
Excellent food and service. Enjoyed some different food. Well worth the 1 hour each way travelling :)
Always good service
