About The Vine
The Vine is more than a pub. Set in the heart of beautiful Goudhurst village, it offers a traditional family friendly Pub with a great selection of drinks and classic dishes, a Grill with a focus on steaks grilled over charcoal and the loungiest Lounge in which to enjoy coffee, cocktails, fizz and artisan gin. We also have two gardens; the Courtyard at the rear where you can enjoy a drink or al fresco dining and the Front Garden, perfect for watching the world go by..
The Vine strives to be the social centre of village life but is also a destination worthy of a car journey. A place to meet, chat, relax, eat and drink.
So what makes us different?...We are a family owned freehouse, passionate about the drink and food we serve, how we serve it and the environment in which it is served. The Vine is quintessentially English but with added flair and imagination.
Our ethos is – if we can source it locally we will. Kentish craft beers, wines, ciders and spirits are supplemented by the old favourites. Our food comes from local producers, farms and suppliers.
An enjoyable meal. If I was being very picky, I had the beef medallions, I would like the potatoes seasoned more and to have less beef and more veg.
The food was excellent and the staff friendly and accommodating. However, some of the regulars at the bar constantly used extremely bad language whilst recounting some very inappropriate stories very loudly throughout our meal. Not ideal for a Sunday evening out to celebrate a 75th birthday. This effectively ruined the whole event.
A fantastic evening for our large private party to celebrate two birthdays in one. Thank you for looking after us so well. Fantastic service, delicious food and a real attention to detail. We are lucky to have such a gem of a village pub. We'll be back soon. Dawes Family
Lovely meal brilliant staff thankyou
Lovely atmospheric central village traditional pub. We only went for the sandwiches but they were fabulous, plenty of chips and well filled. The waiting server was very attentive. Very happy and will be back, thanks.
Friendly service and delicious, fresh meal. Good value for the quality.
Amazing meal, amazing service, amazing atmosphere! Perfect! Thank you
My husband and I had a lovely evening. The staff were great and the food was delicious.
Fantastic evening with friends enjoying really delicious food and wine. Atmosphere was perfect too with enough of a 'buzz' but without being too much.
Wonderful evening. Great food, great atmosphere. Thank you
Spent a Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Vine. We had a meal in the evening and the service from the waitress was excellent plus very good food from the chef. Great job, well done.
All our meals featured wonderful ingredients perfectly brought together and presented. Add in great service and it made for a memorable meal.
Good food well prepared and tasty..service a little slow but very nice staff will visit again.
Best steak I have had in years. Thought there was a dining room upstairs and that’s what I’d booked. Table was in the pub which was very noisy on arrival. Would not put me off from going again as food, service and staff were great.
The food was superb; great produce beautifully cooked and presented. The chef is to be applauded. We chose not to eat upstairs (where we'd booked) as the waiter said no-one else was up there. However we were rather disappointed with our table downstairs as it was only inches from the next table ,separated by a narrow beam. This really is too close for comfort, we felt as if we were sharing a table with strangers! Thankfully they were ahead of us and left well before us. Nevertheless the quality of the meal made up for this.
We loved it and I’m already recommending g to friends if hey are ever in the sea
Lovely evening meal. Impeccable service and food to a high standard.
One of the best meals i have had in a long while. We live an hour away but would make the trip again to eat here.
How well they looked after us for our reunion. England were playing Croatia. Great atmosphere throughout - despite the result. Having enjoyed drinks in the recently refurbished garden- a real asset for the pub and the village- we moved into the Tack Room downstairs - perfect for our group - and enjoyed sharing platters from the new summer menu. Our main courses were served at half time - fresh salads, scrumptious burgers and freshly cooked fish. Sadly - no room for dessert. Special mention must be given to Andrei who brought down his tv for us to play the game through our lap top. Now that is what I call service.
Beautiful country pub! Provided everything that we wanted. Lovely food, fantastic service and great selection of ales and ciders. Definitely be going back. Best meal out we’ve had in ages.
The girls serving were doing their best but their manager was not impressed and grumpy. The pub's atmosphere was not very welcoming. The menu showed only one special, and was not very varied; if you didn't face beef, there were only a few options left. One of our party thought that everything had been made a little spicy, from the veg to the sauce - which got rather boring, nor was it wanted. I don't think we will come back.
Excellent meal as always.
I was expecting for a Friday evening a very busy venue but unfortunately the pub was empty so this would be the reason for the low mark on the atmosphere. The quality of the food was very good but had to wait for drinks and refills unfortunately, you could of sold a lot more :-)
