About The Vine
The Vine is more than a pub. Set in the heart of beautiful Goudhurst village, it offers a traditional family friendly Pub with a great selection of drinks and classic dishes, a Grill with a focus on steaks grilled over charcoal and the loungiest Lounge in which to enjoy coffee, cocktails, fizz and artisan gin. We also have two gardens; the Courtyard at the rear where you can enjoy a drink or al fresco dining and the Front Garden, perfect for watching the world go by..
The Vine strives to be the social centre of village life but is also a destination worthy of a car journey. A place to meet, chat, relax, eat and drink.
So what makes us different?...We are a family owned freehouse, passionate about the drink and food we serve, how we serve it and the environment in which it is served. The Vine is quintessentially English but with added flair and imagination.
Our ethos is – if we can source it locally we will. Kentish craft beers, wines, ciders and spirits are supplemented by the old favourites. Our food comes from local producers, farms and suppliers.
Lovely food, very attentive service, will definitely visit again when next in the area.
Sensational service, lovely atmosphere. I was expecting a succulent juicy steak but it was like an old leather boot. The staff offered me a new steak to be fair, I didn't want to cause a fuss so it's entirely my fault, however, I definitely expected much more from a £30 Rib Eye, it was without a doubt the worst steak I've had in a restaurant. The waiter and waitress were incredible though.
Excellent food and quality service in a superb and beautiful location.
The Food was Fantastic, excellent Quality and Amazing Flavours, the Service was also excellent , They was a lovely calm relaxed atmosphere so much so that we have booked again for Lunch on Sunday
Excellent food and service. Enjoyed some different food. Well worth the 1 hour each way travelling :)
Always good service
Fab food. Best we have had in The Vine
Not very friendly waitress and long wait for food. My G&T was served with mould grapefruit!
This was the second time we had eaten here and on both occasions the food, ambience and service were faultless. We will be back, and I have recommended you to many people, keep up the good work!
great service and delicious food.Booking on line very easy
Excellent always very welcoming
Excellent quality roast beef and good beer and wine. The wine was well-priced but the food pricing was at the high end for a pub. Bar area had more atmosphere than the restaurant. Nice staff.
Nice food, friendly service but oh so painfully slow. No welcome when we arrived for our reservation, so I suspect we never really saw the layout of the place and were just plonked in a noisy bar area. Plenty of choice of good places in the area, so won't be going back.
The food was very generous and excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive. Probably the best pub lunch we have had for a long time. Thank you
We had lunch in The Vine on Sunday having never eaten there before. We had an extremely good experience and will definitely return. We made a reservation on line which was very easy, we arrived on time and were given a warm and friendly welcome and shown to our reserved table in the bar. We had ordered our drinks at the bar which arrived very quickly and we were given menus and told what the specials of the day were. The menu was well laid out and had an excellent selection of meat, poultry, fish and vegetarian dishes as well as a variety of starters and sweets. As main courses, we had two duck a l'orange, one roast lamb and one roast pork. Everyone was very pleased with the food which was well cooked and laid out and lots of it! I had roast pork which was delicious especially the crackling which was very well cooked and a variety of vegetables, apple sauce, gravy and yorkshire pudding. We only had one sweet which was chocolate tart with ice cream because we were all so full from our main courses but it was delicious. I did not see the wine list as we drank beer and I had the local Curious Brew which lived up to my expectations. The service was very professional, friendly and efficient and the bar was quite busy with other diners but the ambience in this village pub was excellent. Although the pub does not have its own car park there are plenty of places to park for free in the village within a couple of minutes walk. The toilets were also very clean and well appointed. We had a great experience at The Vine and would highly recommend it.
Very nice Sunday lunch, highly recommended. Good service too
Food and service was impeccable! My last 4 visits have been the same - thank you for a lovely dining experience. Highly recommended..
It was a lovely meal.
What a treat! Visited on Mothering Sunday for a meal. The food and the service couldn’t have been any better. Thank you very much!
Waitress excellent however sadly waiting hour for lukewarm overpriced food ...sorry won’t be back
a very satisfying mael for four in off the grill menu our fourth time here and we certainly will be back only slightly put off by beer prices and i’m sure they could so better?
An enjoyable meal. If I was being very picky, I had the beef medallions, I would like the potatoes seasoned more and to have less beef and more veg.
The food was excellent and the staff friendly and accommodating. However, some of the regulars at the bar constantly used extremely bad language whilst recounting some very inappropriate stories very loudly throughout our meal. Not ideal for a Sunday evening out to celebrate a 75th birthday. This effectively ruined the whole event.
A fantastic evening for our large private party to celebrate two birthdays in one. Thank you for looking after us so well. Fantastic service, delicious food and a real attention to detail. We are lucky to have such a gem of a village pub. We'll be back soon. Dawes Family
Lovely meal brilliant staff thankyou
