We came for Sunday Lunch, seriously guys, veg are not expensive! One piece of roasted carrot, one piece of roasted Parsnip? The Broccoli and Cabbage were over cooked and water logged. The meat however was lovely, really tender and moist. The plates weren’t hot, my food was cold by the time I finished eating.

Food wise I was a little disappointed with the menu - I was looking for a hot healthy meal such as a fresh fish dish and veg but the only fish was traditional fish and chips. I ordered the veggie pesto pasta and found it extremely oily. Service was really friendly and helpful however it was slow especially initially. Value for money was fine - and the treat Tuesday an unexpected bonus! I think because my pasta wasn’t great it didn’t feel like great value.

Restaurant Response

Thank you for your feedback Tracey, We have recently just started this menu, so a definite positive suggestion for another fish option for our next menu. Sorry to hear about the pasta, I have fed back this to the kitchen team, who will make sure the standard of all our food is exceptional! The Tuesday Treat came in with the new menu, so I'm happy to hear you took full advantage! Kindest Regards, The Village Team.

My friends and I had a lovely brunch at The Village Inn at the weekend. We all ordered food separately and so food came out in dribs and drabs which was fine. Some of the dishes did take a little while and the staff were great by offering us all free coffees so apologise. Lovely atmosphere and the Snug is a great area to book if you want a nice separate area to catch up with friends or family.
