About The Vicarage Freehouse & Rooms
The Vicarage is a recently refurbished 17th Century Grade II listed country pub, restaurant and hotel in the heart of Cheshire. We are a destination food-led venue - we try to source all our produce as locally as possible, with a menu driven by the gardeners, foragers, farmers and suppliers of Cheshire.
Stepping into the building, you can expect quirky décor matched with country comforts, championing local British seasonal produce & eco-sustainability. Leaving your muddy boots and daily strains at the door, to find 20 en-suite bedrooms, snug areas, a games room and a welcoming restaurant, bar and library. The ever-changing menus emphasise excellent regional food and drink which is seasonal and, wherever possible, sourced from our favourite local suppliers.
Whether you are a travelling weekender, or working during the week; our comfy rooms, twin, large double and the suites will help make your stay unforgettable. The Hotel is also available for exclusive private hire or can be sectioned for private parties, events, corporate meetings, birthday celebrations and weddings.
We asked for a rare steak and had to be sent back as came well done, we also had to wait a while for our food. The waiter was very friendly and helpful
No fat chips! Afternoon tea a little slow but staff very friendly.Bed a little too soft but room ver quiet and comfortable
Excellent service with very friendly staff. Food very enjoyable thankyou.
This is my second visit, as I attended last year for a team Christmas social meal and in fact this time I would say I enjoyed it even more. The team and I really enjoyed the meal and the service was very attentive. There was on occasion some food delayed which we had to chase for but on the whole was good. Only down side was as much as the conservatory was a lovely venue, the windows would benefit from a blind/sun shade as when the sun was shining directly at our faces it wasn't great
Fabulous Sunday Roast in a festive atmosphere.Delicious food! Great service, very friendly welcoming staff.
All of our party really enjoyed the evening, the ambience of the Vicarage is second to none and we felt very spoiled with the service given to us by the staff. The food was really good and we enjoyed the fact that you put us in the conservatory - as a choir - we could sing to our hearts content. Also one of our party left a carrier bag containing a precious item, which when I telephoned the same evening, was put behind the bar and I collected it safe and sound the next day - for which I thank you. Carole
Great staff, lively food. Would highly recommend! Thank you
Food is always nice here. However, your service really lets you down. The wait to order and pay was excessively long and we had to actually leave the table and ask a member of the team to come and take our order. Having said that the team were very polite and warmly welcoming.
Really enjoyed our lunch yesterday, hotel looked beautiful with all the Christmas decorations/lights etc. Food was good, my only criticism would be that is wasn't hot enough.
Good but on the verge of being too salty for the roast.
My daughter & I very much enjoyed afternoon tea and a glass of bubbly added a finishing touch. The ambiance of the whole dining area is lovely.
Very good food
We enjoyed our stay with you enormously and hope to be back in the future. Our room was beautifully clean and as advertised, comfy. The food at both dinner and breakfast was gorgeous with friendly service. If we are critical in any way, it would be to do with the shower screen over the bath. It isn't really big enough. It was difficult not to have water over the bathroom floor.
