About The Vestry Restaurant and Bar
An venue offering good quality food and excellent service. Individually styled, casual enough to be comfortable, smart enough to feel special.
Relax and enjoy our great lunchtime menu and coffee, and if you're feeling a little rebellious why not a cheeky glass of wine, the venue opens it's doors at 11am and is a great place to relax and eat with friends, colleagues and business associates.
We host Dining & Dance every other Saturday night
Every other Saturday night, when you can enjoy three courses with wine for only £35pp.
Our Pre-theatre menus are the only menus available for the 2 hours before a show across at the Mayflower, with the Express Lunch being available any other weekday between 12-3pm
food was delightful but could have ben a little hotter
I have emailed the manager. I’m sorry to say I will never recommend this venue and I am upset to have wasted my money on this awful experience. It was not the perfect birthday meal I had planned for my husband.
Good food and good service - would recommend!!
Whilst the food was fantastic and the staff very friendly, we got a general sense that service was rushed. We put this down to catering for theatre goers, but as general diners felt a bit odd, especially when the restaurant emptied out! Wouldn't put us off going again though, just know what to expect next time!
The place was extremely cold when we arrived and we had to ask for a heater. some staff need additional training. Our drinks order was not correct and there was some confusion with the bill. Carol Thomas
Food is very good, but starter and nail meal portions were small. Could have done with some sort of accompaniment to the salmon roulade, perhaps some sort of bread
Portions very small for the price. Mackerel pate was straight from the fridge and so cold it had no taste. Felt a bit rushed despite having plenty of pre theatre time, starter came before drinks, had to ask for time between main and dessert then for coffee.
We had a big party of 30 people. We booked a section downstairs for drinks and had a section upstairs for dinner. Because it was a big party we had to pre-order our food, which was the best option. We ordered 3 courses each. The food came out fresh, every order was accurate, the staff were quick, helpful and friendly and the price was also very affordable! The atmosphere is also very welcoming and warm with all the fairy lights, very cosy with the dim lit lights. It is also really easy to access from the train station. I will definitely look to book here again in the future! Thanks to Tomasz and the team!
Booked the vestry for our wedding reception, great food. All well put together, helpful staff and easy to arrange. DJ was ok, but we didnt really revolve around the music so was fine. Overall very happy with the booking, and glad to have had our wedding repection there. It is a Lovely venue
Good location for a pre-theatre meal, service prompt!
Lovely food although we thought the portions especially the starter and dessert were quite small
Very very poor - on starter had cold soup other had stale bread with warm fish pate. Garlic bread asked for with salad told chef did not do garlic bread"! Had chips instead they arrived 10 minutes before main. Duck main was cold with a old heated up fondant potato which was inedible. Salad was warm not anchovies and cut up lettuce with a few slices of chicken on a squirty sauce. Burnt black croutons. Crumble was awful and thought shortbread had chocolate coating until realised was burnt on bottom. Worst meal think have ever had dining out. Would go so far as tell people to avoid it was really that bad!!!
We have eaten on several occasions and have always enjoyed it, last night was not so good, we were not greeted and had to ask a waitress as she went by for our table, we choose our main courses, to then be told 2 of our 3 choices were not available, re choose our meals, which arrived very quickly, tasted lovely but was only warm and not hot, I didn't complain as time was getting short, we had desserts, the apple crumble again was only just warm. Staff were all very pleasant and doing their best, but felt you were a little short staffed. We will eat again with you as we've not been disappointed before, but hope things approve on last nights visit.
Very good. Will definitely return.
Excellent service, very efficient without feeling rushed prior to our show. Lovely waitress.
Staff very friendly, obliging and professional, Great seasonal menu. Would have preferred hand cut chips to fries but the food was great.
Food is good value for money and very nice, however £4 for a pint of draught coke!? Really??? Service was slow probably not enough staff as one girl clearly new and very unsure. Very enjoying meal though.
Fantastic preshow lunch
The Praline Parfait was tiny and the Orange Brownie was very stodgy. Overall disappointing puddings.
Stunning venue and food great value for money excellent pre theatre experience
lovely meal and staff but drinks were very expensive my coke was over 3 POUNDS and only small bottle
An excellent pre-theatre dinner
Great pre theatre meal with friends. Delicious fish main course and chocolate dessert! Good value with a two or three course deal. Fantastic waitress too. A little bit chilly upstairs but then this is a beautiful converted church!
