About The Twenty Six
Twenty six chairs for twenty six people. One Scott Goss, a passionate and talented chef. This is his test kitchen.
Every day is a blank canvas and a changing menu. It's our pleasure. Take a seat.
Small and large plates with ingredients respectfully prepared. Artisan, natural and biodynamic wines, plus cocktails and extract coffee served all day.
We'll always try to accommodate walk-ins at our sharing table.
We really enjoyed Twenty Six, however we found that some of the courses lacked seasoning and flavour, which was a real shame as there was so much potential. The staff were very friendly and attentive and it was a lovely warm atmosphere in there, we just wish the food had the wow factor...
Great creative food. Only issue is frequency of menu change as we had exactly the same dishes on a previous visit.
Fantastic meal. Fantastic service.
Thank you for a wonderful birthday meal! The 8 course tasting menu was beautiful and the trout, halibut and pigeon were definitely the stars of the show! Great atmosphere and excellent service. See you again very soon.
Amazing every time we visit.
Amazing culinary delight, not your normal dinner out. Draw the curtains pull down the blinds and you are transptred to an alpine lodge with divine food and wine. Doesn’t get better then that
We thoroughly enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu, which was full of surprises. The first 2 courses could have been hotter.
The whole evening was made very special by the staff, who were friendly and knowledgeable about the food.scott catered for my wife by preparing vegan courses which as an avid meat eater i would have been happy to eat !.this is the 3rd time i have dined here and will not be the last..cheers Sean
Staff were very friendly and helpful , food was divine and different, very interesting
Amazing to have such a fantastic restaurant so locally. The service is excellent and the ethos behind Scott’s menu is great. Highly recommend for a lovely night out.
Food very good, unfortunately no other diners so no atmosphere. The restaurant was very cold. Service was ok....info on each dish would have been nice.
Food was good but didn't hit the mark for me. Atmosphere was strange and awkward
Delicious, innovative meal with excellent wine matching. We were on a table which was rather tucked away in the corner so getting the attention of waiting staff was difficult. We were not brought bread when we arrived and drinks we ordered at the start of the evening took ages to arrive. Waiting staff were however really friendly and we had a fantastic evening
Fine dining at its best. An imaginative menu with fabulous tastes. Attentive and welcoming hosts. This is a unique restaurant in the area and a memorable first visit. The perfect place for a special celebration. I will definitely be recommending this to friends & family.
Fantastic evening with really interesting/delicious cocktails and courses. Thoroughly recommend! If you’re a foodie you must go!
Our only complaint is, It was freezing when we came. Me and my wife had to keep moving around our table which was next to the fire to keep warm.
The whole meal was very enjoyable, with surprising combinations of ingredients and intense flavours.
Wonderful evening with exceptions food.
Had a great evening, food has really gone up a notch since last time we visited. Service both friendly and efficient. Only slight disappointment was the limited selection of chapel down wines.
The Burns Night menu on social media advertised 4 courses for £40, one of which was haggis. On the night, we were provided with 3 courses with the lamb and haggis courses combined. Bit disappointed..
Some of the dishes could have been warmer, especially the mushroom porridge and the cauliflower gouda, which were distinctly lukewarm. Not as enticing as they might have been on a chill January day.
The meal was stunning: finely judged and delicious. Food you can trust. Service and ambience top notch too. Love the vibe at 26. We were thoroughly spoiled. Thank you.
Very disappointed by the lack of Haggis. The menu indicated a second, separate, Haggis course and I was very disappointed this did not happen. Also I think the inclusion of a horrifically racist/sexist toast which, whilst out of control of the restaurant, was extremely unacceptable.
Absolutely amazing, the staff were attentive and very helpful, the food was delicious and the drinks (ask for a cocktail) were the best i’ve had! Would go back again and recommend highly to friends!
Wonderful! Amazing creative food, cheerful attentive staff and a quick impromptu chat with the super talented Scott. We will be back.
