About The Twenty Six
Twenty six chairs for twenty six people.
Take a seat. It’s our pleasure. Head chef Megs Buchanan offers an innovative and seasonal menu with ingredients respectfully prepared. Artisan, natural and biodynamic wines, plus cocktails and extract coffee served.
First time visiting The Twenty Six and mixed feedback, loved the fact that the atmosphere was relaxed and cozy, it really felt welcoming. We were a table of two couples who have known each other for over 20 years whilst we understand the whole concept of sharing plates, we didn’t understand why when we ordered all four starters, that two arrived within 10 mins then then the nuts arrived sometime later and the peppers arrived so much later, at a guess 30 mins after the first ones. The same happened with the main courses, as all four of us where sharing the food each plate disappeared especially fast as the portions are on the small side. Having said that all the food was delicious but tricky sharing all the lovely sauces until we asked for bread, we became a really good filler. The waitresses were polite and courteous but felt as the restaurant wasn’t full they could have been a little more attentive as we had to ask them over to order wine on both occasions and had to prompt them again for the second one when it didn’t arrive! They definitely promoted the Chapel Down gin, which we enjoyed. Really enjoyed two bottles of your rosè which was very reasonably priced. I question why you don’t sell your Bacchus rosé from Chapel Down which is one of my favorites. All in all we are big fans of your restaurants having been to three of the four but wouldn’t rush back to this one, sorry. We did have a fun night with a lot of laugher so it definitely served a purpose of getting good friends together.
Excellent dinner and Heather looked after us very well Tim Broadhurst
Just a small break between course other wise excellent service and food we all had a great evening and will be back. Thank you to everyone.
It’s always a lovely brunch at The Twenty Six, great quality ingredients beautifully cooked. The pancakes almost look too good to eat!
Great little gem of a restaurant. Amazing food coming out of the test kitchen, with good wines and great service. Will definitely be back.
Brunch offers good options, high quality and value
Delicious food. Unfortunately some of the ingredients were unavailable. Too much sweet chilli sauce and not enough shredded duck. Dish over sweet. Lovely service. It was a tad quiet but I don’t mind that.
Lovely leisurely brunch. Felt unrushed. Good food - lots of interesting breakfast choices.
Love this place! As does our dog.
Lovely evening. Pleasant service. Much more relaxed than we were anticipating.
A great find for us. Food was really beautifully presented and delicious - great flavours. Great wine in a Picpoul as well. Thanks!
Had a lovely evening. Food was spot on and the staff were lovely. The atmosphere was perfect, being such a small number of tables it makes it a more intimate and quiet space. Will be coming back very soon.
Absolutely blown away! Totally delicious with fantastic service and atmosphere. This was our first visit and we will certainly be back soon!
Sophisticated restaurants are jaunts that I rarely inhabit. The Twenty Six exudes swank. A diminutive sized interior enthrals the senses. I loved the jam jar lighting, spiral staircase and humble fireplace. The menu is fine too, a small but interesting selection. Food is served humbly, dishes are masterfully prepared with care. Each dish tasted wonderful; flavours were delicate, yet bustling. It’s how fine dining should be, relaxed, considerate and not over engineered. The Twenty Six, with its plethora of candles is a romantic venue for lovers of food and life.
Lovely food and lovely place. Perfect brunch spot
Loved the restaurant and the food; the service was perfect too, hitting just the right note, thank you. The only challenge is parking!
Enjoyed a relaxing brunch on Sunday. Choice of food was fantastic, service efficient and all that we had was delicious.
Really appreciated how welcome you made our daughter (19 months) feel, especially bringing her meal out early so we could help her eat before we received ours.
A great find! Lovely venue, friendly staff and delicious food. Brunch was incredibly reasonable too!
The best breakfast / brunch I’ve had anywhere. Better than anything in London. Really an exceptional place and we are looking forward to booking in for dinner soon.
Many thanks to the team it was perfect
Lovely evening out with fantastic food.
Fantastic food and a great experience! Thank you. Everyone was catered for and was a touch for our vegetarian friend to be catered for as well. We had a great evening and hope to be back again soon
Always a pleasure to come here to eat.
Had dinner there last night to celebrate a birthday in the family &Mother's Day - we were 1st timers and would definitely visit again! Had such a lovely evening - the new menu is excellent and each dish that came out just got better & better. Flavours were exquisite. They were short staffed but the two servers kept on top of everything and if they hadn't of told us we would never have noticed. Lovely setting too, ambience great. Can't wait to return!
