About The Twenty Six
Twenty six chairs for twenty six people.
Take a seat. It’s our pleasure. Head chef Megs Buchanan offers an innovative and seasonal menu with ingredients respectfully prepared. Artisan, natural and biodynamic wines, plus cocktails and extract coffee served.
We had the nicest night at the twenty six. I have always wanted to go and it met all my expectations. The service was so lovely, staff knowledgeable but not overbearing and the food was incredible. The duck in particular we will remember for a long time! We’ll be back!!
Wasn’t sure about the sharing concept at first (last time we came we had a starter, main and pudding) but the food was excellent, really excellent!!
Have been twice in two months for brunch and both times the whole experience was excellent. Bloody Mary cocktail in particular was lovely.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will be back.
Had a lovely evening the food was amazing thank you
Had a lovely light lunch, the duck was delicious and we'll be back for that alone! Followed it with the tasty lemon and lavender cake although it was a hard choice between that, the carrot cake or the chocolate one. Will be back soon!
We had a really lovely evening - good was amazing, every course a real delight. Service was good - friendly and relaxed and atmosphere chilled out and cosy. We will definitely be back.
Service was very friendly but very slow which didn’t matter too much as we were nattering away.
My wife and I had an excellent night at the restaurant celebrating our wedding anniversary. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, the atmosphere was cosy and warm with the oven on, and the menu looked enticing. I particularly enjoyed the ham hock with the pickled cucumber, the warm chicory with Parmesan, and the duck. We will be back.
Had booked in advance - nothing was ready for us and we were not greeted. At time of booking I mentioned one of us was coeliac. There was no recognition of this and limited help. We went for the ten pound bfast deal but had to ask for juice half way through. Service was poor. First time we had been here so we were very disappointed especially as we live locally. No cutlery in the table when bfast was served. No sugar in table when coffee served. Had to keep asking. Just not what we wanted to celebrate a special day. Sorry!
Loved the sharing plates, and every one was delicious. Great atmosphere and excellent service. A special evening out.
Amazing cosy and trendy little restaurant in a stunning building. Food so tasty, creative and clearly made with quality ingredients. Staff professional and friendly.
Best brunch I've ever eaten!
Amazing food, perfect service & great value for money. We had a memorable night - would definitely recommend for a special occasion.
Loving the new chef at the Twenty Six. Great food and service in a lovely warm cosy atmosphere.
As always, The 26 gave us a perfect eating experience- comfortable, welcoming and delicious. We'll be back again soon.
Lovely relaxed morning catching up with a friend. Service was fabulous, friendly and personal. Breakfast was great - thought with coffee and juice thrown in it was good value.
A total surprise, I had a birthday brunch at The Twenty Six and had a fabulous time. The restaurant is very cosy and friendly, the food was lovely. I have been recommending it to lots of people! Thank you!
Thank you for a lovely meal. The food was excellent, the venue is spot on and the service was just right,
Front of house/ only waitress was exceptional . Very welcoming and informative. Food was very good. I don't like automatic 12.5% service being added . We would always tip for good service but adding automatically is presumptuous
First time visiting The Twenty Six and mixed feedback, loved the fact that the atmosphere was relaxed and cozy, it really felt welcoming. We were a table of two couples who have known each other for over 20 years whilst we understand the whole concept of sharing plates, we didn’t understand why when we ordered all four starters, that two arrived within 10 mins then then the nuts arrived sometime later and the peppers arrived so much later, at a guess 30 mins after the first ones. The same happened with the main courses, as all four of us where sharing the food each plate disappeared especially fast as the portions are on the small side. Having said that all the food was delicious but tricky sharing all the lovely sauces until we asked for bread, we became a really good filler. The waitresses were polite and courteous but felt as the restaurant wasn’t full they could have been a little more attentive as we had to ask them over to order wine on both occasions and had to prompt them again for the second one when it didn’t arrive! They definitely promoted the Chapel Down gin, which we enjoyed. Really enjoyed two bottles of your rosè which was very reasonably priced. I question why you don’t sell your Bacchus rosé from Chapel Down which is one of my favorites. All in all we are big fans of your restaurants having been to three of the four but wouldn’t rush back to this one, sorry. We did have a fun night with a lot of laugher so it definitely served a purpose of getting good friends together.
Excellent dinner and Heather looked after us very well Tim Broadhurst
Just a small break between course other wise excellent service and food we all had a great evening and will be back. Thank you to everyone.
It’s always a lovely brunch at The Twenty Six, great quality ingredients beautifully cooked. The pancakes almost look too good to eat!
Great little gem of a restaurant. Amazing food coming out of the test kitchen, with good wines and great service. Will definitely be back.
