We had a wonderful time and felt the cost more than fair. The younger table staff were anxious to please altbough some of it felt a bit false. The food was really excellent.
We love the very special atmosphere that is The Thurlestone Hotel. The wonderful staff superb food all creating a fantastic atmosphere which makes each and every visit so enjoyable and memorable. We all so enjoyed our time at the hotel but in particular the dinner we had in the private dining room. Thank you Sophie for handling everything for us. We hope to return in two weeks time
Food was outstanding, location and quality superb ,we will be back soon
We love the setting and the ambiance. The staff are friendly and attentive. The only criticism is that the food could be served hotter. A shame as the food is superb and presented beautifully. The main course was luke warm. Hotter please and everything would be perfect. Thank you.
Excellent as usual. Staff friendly and welcoming.
Love The Thurlestone. Always a friendly welcome and a lovely atmosphere. The food in the Trevilder on Mother’s Day was wonderful and the orchids much appreciated, the service as always was exceptional. A big Thank you to all.
I would say the food was very nice. Wine price high. On the main - We were forgotten for vegetables and sauce so needed to call for service to remind. Loved the view, Loved the music. Next time we will dress up ; visited the beach with the dogs before the visit. We will recommend to others and will be coming again. Thank you
I would prefer not to be addressed only by my surname.
We have eaten in the Trevilder restaurant many times and have never had a bad meal. The staff are friendly and efficient and the views are to die for.
Thankyou for what we thought was a superb meal on Boxing, it was enjoyed by all. Keep up the excellent work and please don't change the menu for next year. Best Wishes &Happy New Year The Greenaways
We eat regularly at the Trevilder, but on this occasion we won a voucher for a free Sunday Lunch which was a wonderful treat so value for money is n/a. We have never had a bad meal in all these years. Happy Christmas to everyone working at Thurlestone Hotel.
We attended as non-residents for a special occasion. The management and staff could not have been more friendly or welcoming. The dinning area has recently been refurbished, the views through the large glass windows are really something.
Having stayed and eaten at the Thurlestone Hotel over many years, we had a poor dining experience there a couple of years ago. I wrote a letter to the then general manager, Julie Baugh, who promised to contact me but never did. I decided to try the restaurant again last week and had another disappointing experience. The food was average and the service very poor. The waitresses seemed far more interested in laying up the restaurant for the following morning's breakfast than giving us any of their attention. When having asked more than once for the bill, the restaurant manager finally arrived, my complaint was met with a perfunctory 'I'm very sorry'. Sadly I don't think we will be returning again.
As this season progresses, there is a definite improvement in the training of the restaurant staff and we had no problems with the service this time.
Bench seats are not comfortable and as the single seats are curved you catch your elbows. Pre - lunch drinks came with the starter. The roast potatoes were not freshly cooked.
