About The Treasury Bar
Perfectly located in Plymouth City Centre, this listed building is the ideal setting for those wanting to graze, dine or drink. Focusing on locally-sourced, creative dishes with a classic twist - and complimenting it all with a bespoke cocktail, G&T or a glass of champagne.
Not our first visit to the Treasury, but living in Newton Abbot we only get there 3-4 times a year. Last year we had a fantastic family lunch for 13 of us & we had the best day. This time we came late afternoon/early evening and to be honest thought the menu was sparse of choice to be fair. 4 mains or the tapas is not what we expected, especially the fish of the day being 'boring' salmon. Come on guys, up ,your game on the dinner menu pleaaaase!
Nice atmosphere but staff where not attentive and waited for service a long time when the place was not busy, a little overpriced
Waiter was excellent, best service Iv had for long time
Booked for pre theatre meal The Bakewell tart gin was amazing also bar staff very good As for meal we decided not to eat as the menu had been changed two weeks prior to us going just a grazing menu or a choice of four main meals one of which was a sandwich Will not be booking again to eat their but drinks an atmosphere is fine
It took nearly an hour for our food to arrive, we had about 20 minutes to eat it as had tickets for the theatre, and disappointed by the evening menu which was so different to the one on the website. Drinks, especially the gins, overpriced in my opinion. Not the place I enjoyed going to, not sure I'll be back if it stays as it is
We recently hosted a baby shower at The Treasury and were really impressed. We had an afternoon tea and the food was delicious and we loved the vintage china crockery. The staff were happy for me to decorate for the shower and it was just as id hoped for. We did have to keep asking for more milk with the teas and the decaf tea isnt very nice but these are really minor things and I would definitely recommend and I would book there again for future events. Thank you :)
Another great evening at the treasury catching up with my old school mates. Thank you
We had such a lovely afternoon. The food was amazing and the staff were lovely and very helpful. Will definitely book again.
We attended for afternoon Tea. The scones and the cakes were delicious- fantastic value for money- very quiet though inside so atmosphere wasn’t great- and the service was quite slow but the food and the cocktails were amazing!
Lovely grazing menu. Very tasty and perfect for a light supper before the Theatre. Nice wine too!
Lovely food and staff. Only criticism I could make is the seating. Didn't like being so surrounded by people drinking standing, not also eating
Lovely place for afternoon tea, been twice now. Nice atmosphere.
Lovely venue. The food and drinks were great and service excellent. Thoroughly enjoyable lunch.
We didn’t receive the quickest of service. The young lady who served us was new and very pleasant. It took us a long time to settle our bill.
Although we booked nobody seemed prepared for us..the service was hit and miss and we had to look for someone to serve us. A drink was ordered and they forgot to bring it..we asked for desserts and they forgot to come for order. The food was not very good and the atmosphere non existent. Apparently they had a lot going on behind the scenes...there were about 5 tables in use! Portion sizes were tiny..would not recommend it to anyone else.
A verypleasant atmosphere
Good food great service
Staff were very friendly & gave us great customer service when serving us our food & drinks. However our food really wasn’t good or appealing. We would’ve preferred tapas however we were told the tapas had ran out, so I ordered cheesey chips, & our other orders were cheesecake & sweet potatoes fries & salad. Fries were over cooked & looked & tasted microwaved. Scrappy lil bits of fries , really not worth ordering. Would go back for a drink but would not recommend for food.
Really amazing service- I have previously had less good experiences, but the waitress was fantastic and can do.
Lovely afternoon tea, table looked beautiful when we arrived. We were very well looked after, a most enjoyable birthday treat, thank you.
Great afternoon and would recommend :)
Food and service where great, was a bit worried after reading reviews about staff change but didn’t need to.
The food was stunning and there was a very good range of vegetarian food. Lovely atmosphere but I found the table a little too small.
Thoroughly enjoyed the meal; very impressed! Service from bar/table staff excellent. Will definitely be returning.
If I could give no stars for Value for Money for the cream tea, I would. I don’t know how The Treasury can justify charging almost £40 for three cups of tea and some tiny slithers of cake and minute strips of sandwiches, barely big enough to satisfy a toddler’s appetite. The scones were tiny!!! I had booked this for my mum’s 50th birthday and was extremely disappointed by the quantity of food and value for money, so much so that it ruined our moods. There was also no option to have prosecco with the cream tea, which confused me as this was advertised online! The gentleman who initially served us was nice and polite but the girl with dark hair barely even smiled at us when processing that stupidly high bill! I will not be going here again or recommending this particular shoddy “dining experience” to anyone.
