About The Treasury Bar
Perfectly located in Plymouth City Centre, this listed building is the ideal setting for those wanting to graze, dine or drink. Focusing on locally-sourced, creative dishes with a classic twist - and complimenting it all with a bespoke cocktail, G&T or a glass of champagne.
After the last 2 visits to The Treasury I am afraid to say even though we booked in advance on both occasions The Treasury had no record of our both. I agreed to give it one last chance and this time all went well. My advice is only book online don't phone or book face to face
Lovely afternoon tea, there was only one other group in but meant we got good service, food was really nice and lovely presentation
A lovely meal and drinks celebrating as mum and daughter for our 40th and 60th birthdays. We had tickets for Annie at TRP so wanted somewhere nearby for food and wine. Popped back afterwards for a nigjtcap. Great atmosphere and music and lots of space. A great venue in a beautiful building. Thanks. 👍
Just want to say a huge thank you! We were all well and truly impressed with the whole package we received on Saturday. The food, the set up, the atmosphere but most of all, your staff absolutely blew me away with how helpful and patient they were. I could not fault them one bit, they done The Treasury proud. Thank you so much for a great time, we will definitely book again! Xx
Always love this place 😊
Food was ok, but nothing to entice me back. The service was very slow we got shown to our table and our order was taken but had to wait quite a while for our food, to be honest we thought they had forgotten us. We ordered desserts and was waiting for them to arrive when we were told they didn’t have what we ordered so we just asked for the bill. The staff were nice but as we said service was very slow, unfortunately we would not go back.
I had been to The Treasury for afternoon tea in Aug 2017 with my mum and enjoyed it. Living in S Yorks means I am not too knowledgable on best places to go for this, so I was happy to rebook on Easter Monday as I expected the same as last time. I’d booked online at the beginning of March and received an email of confirmation. On Easter Sunday, I received a telephone call from Natalie (who I must add was absolutely lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly) to check about my A La Carte booking. This threw me completely as this type of booking would never have been a consideration. It was always afternoon tea for the girls whilst partners were at the Barnsley v Argyle football match. With around 24 hours to go until our booking, I was left unsure if it would go ahead and Natalie informed me she would need to speak to the chef and call me back the following morning. It was, at this point, too late to make alternative arrangements and so I kept my fingers crossed it would be ok. To Natalie's credit, she rang me back before 5pm the same day, to confirm the booking. I was then able to look forward to an afternoon with my family, who rarely get together all at once, due to living in various parts of the country. When we arrived for afternoon tea, the bar staff were lovely and we were looked after really well. Unfortunately, the tea itself was very disappointing and it was obvious that ingredients had been scraped together to try and meet our booking request. We we provided with gateau forks, yet the pieces of cake were less than bite sized, which made it obvious that it was all ‘make do’ with whatever leftovers you had. The scones were not usual mixture, which seemed as though they had been produced just to tick a box. As the lead on the booking I did feel embarrassed, but the company carried us through as we were all so excited to be together again after seven months apart. I do feel the price of your afternoon tea is usually reasonable, compared to other venues and the venue itself, and staff, are something to be proud of, but on this occasion I did feel really let down. I would be very reluctant to risk booking again, unless I could be guaranteed that the event would be value for money. Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback. Kind regards, Joanne Edwicker, Barnsley, S Yorks.
Very limited food menu with an extensive wine menu. Bit odd that you could spend £250 on a bottle of Champagne yet only have a burger or equivalent with it. I did purchase a rather nice bottle of wine which was unfortunately and obviously not chilled. I should have sent it back.to be honest, after recommendations by friends that you were a good restaurant, I was disappointed to find you were basically an expensive bar that happened to do a bit of food. I could have got a better selection in weatherspoons. I won’t be returning
Luckily we had a voucher for our afternoon tea would of been even more disappointed had we paid full price
The staff were very kind. Everyone looked like they enjoyed working there. The atmosphere was so relaxing and peaceful. As soon as we arrived we were taken to a table so no waiting was needed. The food was delicious. The three of us had the fish. It wasn’t soggy nor dry. It was perfect. Will be coming back again soon.
Lovely food and excellent service as always
Lovely food, attentive service
Lovely afternoon celebrating my mums 70th Birthday
we had a wonderful staff meal out last Friday one of the best for food and service we have ever had so thank you all for your great service
Booked in for the mother’s day high tea. Was perfect from start to finish and will absolutely book again :-)
Service was good, staff friendly
Took my mum for Mother's Day and we thoroughly enjoyed it. All the staff couldn't be more helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The cream tea and atmosphere was lovely and well presented and we would definitely go back again. Thank you.
It was a lovely lunch with my mum (80) and my dear auntie (85) - food was lovely and the service was excellent - thank you so much Treasury
We had a great time. Food good, helpful staff in regard cocktails. Made staff aware of the issue of booking on line. Could not book a table for afternoon tea.
Thank you so much for a lovely afternoon tea for myself and friends. It was so easy to organise with lots of help from your lovely staff who checked in with an email and then a telephone confirmation nearer the time to make sure we had everything sorted for the table of 20! The cream tea was really lovely and fantastic value for money. Would definitely recommend to others.
Food delicious catered for everyones taste and great value for money especially the 5 x gins for £25!!!
Booked for the cream tea for my friend’s birthday and we upgraded to the Prosecco, delicious sandwiches, cake and scones with unlimited pots of tea from an extensive selection. Service was just right (thank you Adam), very chilled atmosphere in a lovely old building. Will definitely be coming back for tapas and cocktails and doing another cream tea soon!
Having visited before for afternoon tea we were a bit disappointed after this visit. The cakes were dry and not as special as previously, and the sandwich selection was very basic. I was asked if it was a special occasion and it was. It was to celebrate my mother in laws 80th birthday. No balloons or special effects so not sure why I was asked really. Probably won't rush back but the service and staff were fab 🙂
Everything was great (Basil Pancakes !! must stay on the menu for my wife please). Our coffee was ordered but never received due to the waiter forgetting to take it from the bar when made. The staff member (man) running the bar apologised so that was fine. See you again soon.
Food and cocktails were great. Service was poor, staff surly. We were there for a pre theatre meal and had to wait even to pay. We would have eaten and drunk more, but there was never anyone to take our order, or when we were served it took twice as long as it should have or drinks to arrive
