About The Three Tuns
The Three Tuns was built in 1468 and has had an ale licence since 1764. Inside you will find crackling open fires and a traditional style pub, plus a separate dining area serving fine restaurant food with an ever changing seasonal menu using local produce. Whether you are looking for a fine dining experience or quality pub food you will be sure to find what you want at The Three Tuns.
Our Chefs are highly trained, having spent much time working in France and as leading Chefs in some of Kent’s finest establishments and Hotels.
A large beer garden at the rear of the pub provides you with a relaxing stream side decking area and plenty of seating, plus is the venue for many an event including Farmers Markets, and a summer Beer Festival. Mysterious and spooky stories are plentiful and whispers of unexplained ghostly activities and secret tunnels are a frequent talking point with the locals.
A great meeting place with friends and family, or the perfect place to start or end any walk for ramblers or Dog walkers as the surrounding area is abundant with history with many public footpaths. Take a few steps from the Saxon shore way and enjoy a cream tea or a refreshing pint of Kentish Lager.
Really did enjoy my experience overall. Asked for my steak medium well - Felt like it came back a little bit to 'done' for my liking. I didn't mention it as it was still nice, but that for me is the difference between a 4* review and a 5* and that's just being honest. Lovely setting, love people working there - great atmosphere etc etc. Gave Value for money 4*/5 as well, I had Nachos and Fillet steak, Both were reasonably priced but flattered to deceive slightly. I would come back again for sure, maybe I just had a slightly unlucky day - My friends really enjoyed their food!
Excellent food and service
What a lovely Sunday lunch we had. Staff were very friendly and attentive even the staff that weren’t serving us. Great food will definitely be back again
Loved where we were sat in the little alcove away from the main bar area which was very busy. Staff and manager very attentive and helpful. Food very delicious and freshly cooked. Will be back again soon thank you.
Perfect, we had a lovely meal the food was fantastic. The staff were great , I'd recommend to all
Excellent lunch! Our second visit and we will definitely return.

Lovely pub, friendly and accommodating staff. Food was good value with some quality choices
Very friendly staff, prompt service and good food! Nice traditional pub atmosphere!
It was the third time in 5 years we went to three tuns for Valentine’s Day and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The food was up to the usual exquisite standard and we chose very well with the wine! We will definitely be returning next year!
A very welcoming atmosphere. Friendly staff, great food and not pressured. Definitely going to go there again.
It was an unexpectedly busy night for your staff, but they made sure we were served promptly and looked after thoughtfully. Everyone I spoke to was pleasant and cheerful and made us feel very welcome. We had a good birthday meal, and will definitely come again.
This was our first visit to The Three Tuns and we were delighted by our experience. The food was excellent and most reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and attentive and did everything to make our meal a most pleasant experience. WE would have no hesitation in returning and recommending the venue to our friends and family.
We try to come here regularly to the restaurant, it’s one our favourite places locally for a Friday night treat, having said that although you can eat in the bar (get there early for a table) you do have to book a week in advance at weekends for the restaurant - sometimes they’ll have a cancellation so you’re lucky to get in day before or even on the day. Fab food all year round - great for lunch, dinner or a light snack - cosy fire in winter and beautiful beer garden in the summer - highly recommended
Good food, good service, nice atmosphere, and welcoming friendly staff.
Always love the food! Great menu choice and lovely warm atmosphere! My go to place for a nice meal! Helps that you can take dogs to the bar too! Yay!
Excellent service from the restaurant and bar staff, Excellent choices for all with the menu and a specials board to die for always something new to try.
We had a lovely evening, will be revisiting soon :)
