About The Three Tuns
A beautiful Georgian pub with serving great food with an extensive wine list, craft beers and large garden
we stayed at Ashridge Farm campsite and discovered this gem of a pub. Great food and great service from friendly staff. Especially loved the Sunday roast which was perfect in every way. We will definitely be back!
A very convenient and enjoyable experience
Excellent food. Large portions. Food came quickly, and service was very efficient, without making us feel rushed.
Very good, will be coming back - thanks for NOT having horrible music grinding away in the background
An excellent meal and good service enjoyed by all the family. Thank you.
Best roast pork with proper crackling. Gravy superb
Absolutely finest class food and first class service
We took our cousins who were over from Australia who wanted to have lunch in a quaint English village and Ashwell was the perfect place. All the staff at the Three Tuns were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The food was delicious and service great.
Worked well for us. Thought we were well looked after and made very welcome.
First time at the Three Tuns for over a year, and very pleased with the new management. Food is excellent, and the staff are very welcoming and friendly.
Excellent service and delicious food
Great food and excellent service and will be returning again.
I love this place! If you haven't been yet what are you waiting for! 5* dinning!!
We were very pleased with the service , we had pre ordered for 35 persons and the food came out reasonably all together, hot good quality and ample potions , no complaints from within our party only a number of compliments Excellent - would definitely book again
Oh dear, tough turkey, over cooked veggies, gravy that had black lumps as if it had been mixed from a Bisto package and Yorkshire pudding that I cannot describe. Very very disappointing for a Sunday lunch!
Good Saturday night dinner, seating arrangements changed since we last went and worked well.
I live in Cambridgeshire, my friend in north west London. We meet at a roughly half way house pub every now and then. Most of the pubs have been in Herts. So far we've been to about 35 different ones. The 3 Tuns is definitely in the top 5 and maybe higher. While the Good Pub Guide is very useful it often misclassifies its entries. The 3 Tuns should have a full entry.
Absolutely delicious food. Had to wait a while longer than most places but sooo worth the wait! As they say, good things come to those who wait. Good portion size, just a shame I couldn't sample a dessert, I bet they are fabulous!
We came for a family birthday meal on Sunday, we felt a few times that service was slow and we’d been forgotten. My husband asked the waitress what beers were on, she told him to go to the bar and look as she couldn’t remember. She then forgot to come back and take drinks orders for the rest of the table. The food was good, so that in part made up for the poor service. No colouring or anything was offered to our 6 year old and only ice cream as a dessert option was a bit poor. Lucky she likes ice cream but it was a chilly room and a chilly day, so would have been nice to be offered something warm too.
very good thanks
Great night, staff were fantastic, food absolutely amazing. Will definitely be back
We have really enjoyed all our dinners at The Three Tuns. Both the menu and wine list are well balanced, albeit would welcome some occasional seasonal changes to the menu.
We ate from the A La carte menu at Lunch time the food was excellent and the service was very good. I would definitely eat there again and recommend it.
A bit disappointing really - have tried it several times each time under new management. Only very average and could be so much better. Could try for more sophistication in such a beautiful building
