Welcome to The Three Compasses.
Can't wait to come back! Service was a little slow with our drinks coming after our meal but it was busy. Delicious food, great ambience and the decor is wonderful!
Service was great! Shame the food took so long to arrive but once it did it was delicious.
We booked the snug for our baby reveal party and had a wonderful afternoon. Everyone enjoyed their roast and we ended up staying all day. Thank you for making our day so lovely and special thank you to Ian with helping us arrange.
We were initially running late reaching but called ahead and the whole team were very understanding.Really good visit, food was delicious and will certainly be coming back!
Service was a little slow our first course took 50mins to arrive. But food was very nice when it arrived at the table. Apart from that we enjoyed the meal Staff seemed very nice.
Visited this fine establishment for Sunday lunch, the restaurant was quiet and the decor comfortable. The waiting staff were very pleasant and attentive, I had a beef dinner and my female dining partner had the lamb. The food came hot and was excellent, the roast potatoes were a definite high point of the meal. The meats were cooked to perfection and the plate contained an adequate amount of gravy, we will definitely visit again when next in the area.
Great family pub, friendly service
Very pleasant staff and efficient service. A very nice spot out in the country but handy for Watford and Radlett. Very attractive rooms for dining.
Food was delicious - and the best we’ve ever eaten there. Such a shame that we were there with only a couple of other diners.
They had run out of a lot of food, although it was 8pm on Sunday night. The service was a bit slow.
Welcomed by staff as soon as we arrived. I asked the waitress about the pie of the day and she was really enthusiastic about it as it was a new recipe. She was not wrong. Pie was delicious and service was prompt and friendly. Would highly recommend.
The service was painfully slow. Drinks took about 20 minutes to come and the food took hours. When the food did come, it was extremely underwhelming. This is the second time I've been and it was the same last time so will not be returning.
Hi, Sadly the booking system never worked and we were told as much on arriving at the Three Compasses!! We didn't get a table and ended up eating elsewhere! So cannot comment!! I have entered one star as its the only way the review is accepted, however can only comment on Service, which is negative at the moment! I have emailed Three Compasses, not heard back as yet!! Lets see if they get back to me.
We booked in advance for lunch based on location and a quick look at your website. We were not disappointed. Friendly staff, great service, amazing food within a beautiful pub. Thank you. What a great find!
Hi, unfortunately we were unable to make our reservation and I had to call to cancel as i was unable to cancel only me. We will be back through Great food in the past
Best steak and ale pie we’ve ever had!!! We’ll definitely be back.
I booked the Three Compasses for a 40th Anniversary meal for my parents. I added a note to the booking to notify the pub and they had kindly arranged a really nice private table and added 40th balloons to it, what a lovely touch! Food was great and the service fantastic, they really couldn't do enough. I wouldn't hesitate to go again and would definitely recommended the Three Compasses to others. Good job!
Delicious food...especialy the mac and cheese bites!
Beautiful pub, friendly staff, delicious food. Will be coming back!
We had the roast dinner the potatoes were awful the rest was ok
A real shame that the quality of food did not live up to the great service and atmosphere. Visited especially for the Sunday roast and were very disappointed with the poor quality. Roast potatoes that had clearly been reheated (although remained somewhat lukewarm), yorkshires that were burnt and a roast Chicken that was too tough for a normal knife to cut through.
Lovely meal well presented.
I have eaten here before a while ago with my family and come for drinks often. Therefore I chose to bring my boyfriend here for dinner in the lovely garden. I cannot believe how dissapointed I was when I left. There were ants everywhere crawling all over the tables, they brought our food out in the wrong order and also brought the wrong thing twice. Then when I eventually got the right meal it was stone cold and had the wrong side order. I couldn’t believe when I then went to pay the bill it was £70. The staff seemed very slow and disorganised and for the price you pay for the food I expected a lot more.
love this place - the service the food the ambience
We went on a Monday night & perhaps due to a busy weekend they had run out of some of the food on the menu but it wasn’t difficult to choose something else. This was perhaps my 8th visit over the past couple of years & things seem to have vastly improved & what we ate was really good. The service was great & with a smile
